I have been missing calls, video home protection, and websites because they are attached to wireless' Arris, I bought it because I want to update but my former Arris 2.4 was not giving any trouble.

Didn’t work for us. Exchanged for a Google Mesh WiFi system, leasing a modem from Xifinity and increase the speed. Work better!

Here’s a concise review for the WiFi modem SBG8300 based on your input: The SBG8300 WiFi modem offers a mixed experience. Installation isn’t particularly intuitive, though pairing it with the Xfinity app made registration straightforward and hassle-free. Initially, it performed well, delivering reliable connectivity for a decent stretch. However, the honeymoon phase didn’t last—after a while, it started dropping out almost weekly, requiring frequent restarts to get it back online. The real dealbreaker came last night when it abruptly stopped working altogether. Despite attempts to reboot and reset, it refused to come back to life. Frustrated with the inconsistency, I’ve decided to return it. For something that’s supposed to be a set-it-and-forget-it device, the SBG8300 falls short on reliability.

Needed to get about 60’ more coverage out to the shop. This gives me about “2” bars out there now. The connection is slow, but it works, I had nothing before. Would like a stronger signal so I can set up some security cameras in the shop.

Not as powerful as I expected. We have an 1820 ft 2 home with open areas or windows to all portions of the home expected to be covered. The unit was placed in the largest room of the house as central in the home as practicable. Coverage was poor to moderate (not adequate for tv streaming) in any room other than the one the unit is installed.

The last one lasted almost 4 years and probably would have gone much longer except for a lightning strike that knocked it out.

I purchased this product after much research on cable modems. I wanted to get rid of the monthly Comcast fee. I am very pleased with the easy installation and this modems performance. I recommend to anyone looking for a change.

Does what it is supposed to do. I got tired of renting equipment from Xfinity and bought my own modem/router. To be honest it runs better than the supplied one from Comcast. Set-up could have been done easier, but I really think Xfinity throw curve balls to dissuade you from going this route.
