it didn't have near the range of the netgear and it stopped connecting to internet within a day. We took it back and ended up getting one from Astound. I am not sure that it was the Arris that was the problem as the Netgear was awesome until we made a change on our account and that is when things went wrong.

Bought this thinking I got something powerful. Things like alexia and SimpliSafe won’t connect to it. I followed the instructions to the T... even contacted the tech support and no help. Good for internet from computer and phones. Just don’t hold your breath for anything else.

Arris has blown myself and my D-Link setup out of the water with the new SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem and Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router. After opening the well packaged unit, I read the quick install guide just in case there was any special notes and proceeded to power it up. A quick call to Spectrum to give them the MAC number and 10 minutes later, I am running full speed. The modem is quite faster than my last D-Link pulling 140 down and 15 up which is about double what the D-Link DOCSIS 3.0 modem could do. I will be upgrading my Spectrum internet to the 400mbps service here soon to get even better performance. The router is easy to get setup, not one hassle or snag. The app for Android is top notch and very easy to navigate unlike D-Link's. The WiFi speeds are great and no do drop off in any of the 1800 sqft home and covers my entire yard and garage. I have a total of 49 devices running on the router right now from phones and tablets to home smart devices.I cannot believe how it never gets bogged down, it just keeps doing what it needs. The range is by far the best single unit setup I have ever used. My 2 daughters rooms were always low signal when tested on their smart TV's and not it says strong signal. The D-Link had a repeater 20 ft from their room, took that all out and just use the Arris unit now. I highly recommend the Arris SBG8300, you will not be sorry and it does not let you down. Features: 10+ Gbps DOCSIS 3.1 Download Speeds 32 x 8 Modem Channels 2 downstream x 2 upstream OFDM channels 3x3 on 2.4Ghz and 4x4 on 5Ghz MIMO antenna configuration Four 1-Gigabit Ethernet Ports Dual-band concurrent AC Wave 2 Wi-Fi Supports IPv4 and IPv6 Positives: EVERYTHING!! Negatives: Absolutely Nothing!

This modem constantly kicks me off and it's slow. It says its compatible with Comcast but not really. When you buy this to save money in the long run, it's not worth it. Pay to lease through your internet provider. I had to return it because it just wasn't giving me the speed I need that it claims. Waste of money and certainly not worth the price!

Paid $267.00 for this item, a dual router/modem. Worked fine until it didn't. Had it 17 months and it just died. Can't get a refund or replacement. Wouldn't buy Arras product again.

This modem/router combo drops connection on a daily basis. Arris’ consumer tech support/customer service is nonexistent. My ISP has informed me that it needs a firmware update that has to be completed by Arris, but Arris’ literature on the item states that they are unable to perform this update, it must be done by the ISP. AVOID PURCHASING AT ALL COSTS you will be plagued by intermittent connections unless you’re able to convince one or the other to actually do their job.

I purchased what I thought was the model pictured, A Best Buy phone rep suggested it and I went and picked it up. I tried for 6 days to hook it up, but it wasn't working. A friend stopped by and asked, "Where's your router?" I showed her my invoice and said that it was a combo. modem and router. Then we looked at the box it came in and saw that it was just a modem, although I paid for the one in the picture. Obviously, I returned it. What a waste of time and energy and no internet or TV!!!

Was attempting to set it up with Xfinity. Did not want to sync. Called for help and could not understand the person on the other end of the phone call. He appeared to be knowledgeable, but unfortunately his accent was so pronounced that I could not understand him. His mic also was having problems. Took it back and had to use the Xfinity box.
