Great cable modem
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation with Comcast Tech was flawless. Speeds are awesome. Setting up wifi was a real hassle. Had tech support on the phone over an hour. Problem was resolved and everything is fully functional.

Keep on surfin'
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comcast upgraded my service, requiring some kind of better/faster/newer moden-router. This one has been great! Not getting near as many disconnections from XBox multiplayer events. Biggest surprise was how easy to configure using online tools from both Arris and Comcast.

Worst wifi ever
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a horrible wifi router. The modem itself works fine, I have no issue with my hard wire connections. The built in wifi on the other hand is so bad. At one point, my wifi connection was cutting in and out. This was persistent for a couple of months and stopped randomly. Regardless, the coverage still does not go far. I live in a 1000 square foot house and it cannot reach many areas. I only went with this router because a really good Netgear one I was using prior failed randomly. I decided to switch brands because I thought purchasing another Netgear router/modem I would run into the same issues. Instead I lost a ton of performance. SInce I no longer can return this router, I've opted to turn off the wifi and purchase a mesh network to use as a wifi alternative. I hate this modem/router so much I am still looking to sell it and replace it with a modem only option to run my new mesh wifi network that works so much better than this.

Good for what it is.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the easiest way to get 2.5gb connection to your pc. Because it is a modem/router combo, the 2.5gb lan out will not bottleneck your 1gb isp connection. It has been stable. The web gui leaves a lot to be desired, and don’t even bother with the app.

Warranty not supported
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On June 3rd purchased and installed an Arris G36 gateway/modem. On July 25th my cable company informed me that I should replace my gateway/modem as it is sending feedback signals causing issues on their network and they also installed a filter to block the signals. Called Arris for a warranty replacement and after a review of the WAN information my calm was rejected. They calmed the cable company was the issue, not the product. This product Arris G36 Gateway may leave having to purchase another gateway/modem to replace the unit as Arris doesn’t support the warranty of the unit.

Works with Comcast but can be a pain to setup with
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great modem but like I found out later setup was a pain. I had to have Comcast come get it to connect. They did find some issues at the pole but their customer support is horrible. I do have to reboot it at least once a week to keep a fast connection.

Horrible - returned!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched to my own modem/router years ago. I had a great Motorola but I needed to upgrade due to increased speeds. I purchased this because most of the reviews were promising, but NOPE. This thing is horrible. It worked ok for a few days but then the service started dropping, multiple times a day. It was not on Xfinity’s end, it was definitely this modem. I had to constantly reset the modem and it was interrupting everything including my work as I work from home. I did many factory resets per troubleshooting guidelines and it just did the same thing. Luckily I had an extended return period due to the holidays. Done messing with this piece of junk and it’s going back- don’t waste your money. Came back here to read the one star reviews and it appears this is a frequent problem! For $300+ you can buy a better modem. I replaced this with an upgraded Motorola modem and it has been working flawlessly. Thankful I can get my money back for this junk.

Did not Connect with Xfinity cable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought this as it looked like it was the fastest modem router that Xfinity recommends besides their own brand which you have to rent, and I prefer owning my own Router Modem. Let me say I spent about 6 hours on the phone and online with Xfinity trying to get this connected and they would not connect to it after trying a few things and also sending out a ping trying to reach it, but nothing connected. It was so frustrating, and their instructions were also confusing as well and was only a little card with not much on them to help you, there online help desk is available is only open Monday thru Saturday and closed I believe by 3 pm. Best Buy was very kind and let me return it and I upgraded to a Netgear ax2700 which I will say is so much better probably $50 more but connected within less then 5 minutes without having to talk to Xfinity just going to their page and entering a few numbers and it connected. Plus, Netgear has a 24hour helpline as well. I wish I could of given this a better review but after trying to connect to Xfinity for 2 days I could not take it anymore. Arris Stand-alone modems work great with Xfinity as I had that before, but I had to upgrade to get a better speed and connection and sadly their Modem Routers are not good with Xfinity service.

Good product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem/router is an upgrade from an older modem/router I was using that kept disconnecting my internet. Setting it up took a while to Xfinity. For some reason Xfinity wasn’t recognizing it. I took a break and went back to try again and it somehow was working. So I have no clue what happened. But it works now. I am satisfied with it.

Good product, average instructions.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent product. Phone app isn’t very helpful and I resorted to manual setup. Remember to change the security encryption settings on the router to match your various devices or they won’t connect. That stumped me for a bit. Again it’s the setup not the product that can be awkward.

Worth Every Penny
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem took our wifi speed from 400 mbps to over 900. Even though our other modem was equipped to handle up to 6 to 700 mbps it came nowhere near that. I am extremely happy with this modem.
