Great Performance, Needs Better Cooling.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this modem for 4 months now, and I’ve been very impressed. I choose the Arris S33 over the Motorola MB8611 mostly because it was on sale at the time for less, plus I had BestBuy rewards credit to put toward it. The modem itself has been a bit of an improvement over my Xfinity XB7. The XB7 is also made by Arris, but uses an Intel chipset, the S33 uses a newer Broadcom chipset that I feels performs better. With the XB7, even though I have 1.2 Gb speeds, at most I would only hit approximately 900 Mb with downloads. The S33 hits at 1.1 Gb on the same Speedtest.net test using the same server. I can confirm that this modem runs pretty hot. Using a digital thermometer, I was reading 134 degrees F at the top vents, compared to 107 degrees coming out of the my ASUS RT-AX86U router running 30 devices. My solution was to get a 120mm USB fan and place it underneath the modem, and that cooled things down significantly.

Works Great!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is nice to have a 2.5gbps ethernet port for future updates in my mesh network system. It has two ethernet ports but you can only use one unless your IPS allows two IPs for your service. Works fast, is small, and not bad looking. This was a nice upgrade from a 3.0 modem. Always a bit painful getting the new modem activated with Xfinity. Took 30m on the phone for them to figure the update internally.

ARRIS Surfboard
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well I have had no issues with it, set up was pretty easy. It does have a 2.5gb lan port but I have yet to be able to fully use it since my router only supports 1gb WAN but at 1gb/s it works well and have had no issues would recommend.

Works Great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great! Internet speeds improved after upgrading to this modem. The app did not work for installation - I needed to call Astound, and was on the phone for close to an hour.

S33 rocks!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the Arris S33 after my netgear CM1100 failed. Connected to Suddenlink without issues. I am getting faster speed than I was getting with the CM1100 by about 200Mbps which is great. Surprised by the small size of the S33. Real easy to install too. It’s connected to an Orbi RBK852. Wish the price had been a little lower but I guess you get what you pay for…

Speed and Boost
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently upgraded to the ARRIS SURFboard S33, and it’s been a game-changer for my home network. Right out of the box, the setup was quick and painless. Within minutes, I was up and running with my ISP (Xfinity), and the performance boost was immediately noticeable.

Arris Surfboard S33 Docsis 3.1 modem
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit increased the download speed instantly. The most positive thing about this modem is that you own it and don't have to pay a monthly fee on your ISP bill. The biggest drawback is that you have to call your ISP tech support to get it online. Sometimes you are connected to a Tech that knows his job and how to connect the new modem to their system. Other times you may get someone who just started and doesn't know a thing. Make sure that you see your Internet Service Providers company name on the box to make sure it is compatible.

SURFboard S33 32 X 8 DICSIS 3.1 mODEM
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Obtained this Arris SURFboard cable modem to replace a surfboard that got taken out by a close lighting strike. This is the latest-greatest version, installation was not an issue, and it seems to be working well. It tends to run a little warm so make sure it has good ventilation.

So Far / So Good
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just set this ARRIS-Surfboard modem up a few weeks ago, so far so good. I had my IT person do the setup and he said the speeds were excellent and consistent. We stream our TV and have our phones and a ring doorbell signed into this and no lag or buffering to report.

Really the best cable modem
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Arris just works and stays up. Farmmore likely to return to service after network failures than the modems the cable company provides. Also super small!!

So far so good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my 9 year old modem with this one. Happy so far with this modem. I was worried about the bad reviews and heat issues but it has worked flawlessly so far. I was able to connect it to Comcast with their app. It did take about 10 - 20 minutes for the internet to come up but it has been very stable since. It also disconnected a few times at first but I am assuming that it was updating firmware. It does run hotter than most of my equipment, but not ridiculously hot. I have version 2 of this router. It is clearly marked on the box sticker with the model and serial number as V2. The only negative I have is that my ping times went up about 5ms from about 15ms to 20ms. Not noticeable during regular use.

Small and speedy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is very a good modem. Key points: - very easy to setup - quickly connects to internet provider - pretty small compare to other modems - can use faster internet without modem upgrade since it supports 5000 megabits per second for download and 2000 megabits per second for upload

works good
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.do not want to rent "modem" from cable company so I looked at some that they said were compatable with their system. I chose this arris model and it has been working fine for several years. It has paid for itself by not having to rent one from the cable company.

Great modem
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Has worked great so far, set-up was easy and no issues at all in the week it's been up and running. Took Cox a bit to find the model but that's probably because it's so new. Using with the Netgear Nighthawk MK62 mesh wifi system. Like the new design as well. Small and modest but performs like a champ. Would recommend
