Major upgrade to my spectrum modem

I had been wanting to get rid of my poorly performing "upgraded"
modem supplied by Spectrum "for free", The old modem needed to be restarted approximately 4 times a week, the Arris modem is working incredibly well, was easy to set up, and my upload and download speeds are dramatically improved. When paired with an Orbi router and mesh network, my entire home and yard get smoking fast internet speeds. My three millennial children are impressed; that is the best endorsement I can think of.

Upgraded from my modem router combo that ive had for 6 years now. Easy to hook up. Its much smaller so it takes up less space. Looks nice and sleek with the blue light in front. 2.5g ethernet port. Was able to activate it easily through the xfinity app. My internrt amd wifi connections have improve quite a bit after this upgrade and biying a new router as well.

Love this modem. Have had zero problems with it. It is already ahead of the curve in terms of what most ISP’s even provide yet. I use this with a 1 GIG internet service and it is flawless.

Excellent. I had zero issues setting this up with Comcast. Took 5 mins to register it on their network with the app. Now I get much faster and dependable speed out of my 1 gig service. It has a very small footprint, really very small. This plus TP link Deco mesh WiFi devices really helped all my streaming devices, game console, and other various WiFi things work flawlessly with no lagging.

Fast and reliable. I've had this running for a couple of months now and it's been rock steady. I get great speeds and setup was easy once I got my ISP to actually pick up the phone.

I had another modem and my wife & kids regularly complained about the slow internet speed. My kids have a PS5 and my wife streams Netflix and Amazon Prime. I also work from home a lot and have to admit that the internet was slow, especially on Zoom meetings. I increased the internet speed through our carrier but that didn't help. I did some research and found this modem. There were more expensive options, but after going to Best Buy and talking to an associate I really couldn't justify paying significantly more for another modem when this one cost considerably less. It was easy to connect, and after using it for several weeks I would definitely say I'm happy I made the choice to buy this modem. I haven't had any complaints from the wife & kids and connection for work has been much better also. Overall, for the money I think this is hands down a great choice.

Always recommend to have your own router rather than through your isp. Last surfboard modem finally went out of after almost 10 years and never with any issues before it finally bit the dust. So far this one seems to be working just as well. Probably overkill for most people’s isp provided speeds but if you’re over 300mb/s it’s worth it for future proofing especially with having a 2.5gbs port.

I've always been a fan of Arris products, in this modem does not disappoint. Simply put, it is the best-value multigig modem on the market right now. The 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port is a fantastic feature, especially if you have a router that's able to take advantage of multi-gig WAN. It'll also help you take advantage of any overprovisioning that your DOCSIS provider is offering, and does it at a fantastic price...hundred(s) less than Netgear. (In our case, we pay for 940 Mbps, but with this modem, saw the appreciable increase to 1.345 Gbps.)
I guess I'll mention as a final point that Arris has fantastic support, should you encounter any issues or have any questions. I've owned previous products from them in the past, and even if I had an issue with them, the customer service alone was enough reason to continue doing business with Arris. When it comes to this modem though, they have created a rock-solid, state of the art, class-leading device – and I have no complaints whatsoever! Great work, Arris. :-)

So far so good. It has a 2.5 G output, which I'm using, but with a 1 G connection. I plan to expand later with a 2.5G router. I've run dedicated lines to my back room, and plan to try a mini computer with a 2.5G Ethernet plug. I don't need to, so I've talked myself out of it so far. But I want to.

Save your money!
Buy this modem! Stop giving your ISP unnecessary money to just rent their own modem. Own your own. If you’re already paying for a 1Gig Internet connection, this modem will not cause you to have any drop out. My download and upload speeds are way better than before. This modem is a bit pricey but it’s definitely worth it. Connections have been no issue. Installation was quick!

Free Cable Upgrade Not So Free

Our cable provider secretly upgraded our internet to 1Gb but did not tell us until I noticed it in our monthly bill. However, our old Surfboard cable modem did not support 1Gb so their free upgrade required me to upgrade it with this unit. This unit does not come with Wi-Fi which was fine as I have a Wi-Fi access point and did not need it. This cable modem has been functioning flawlessly since we got it.
Setup was plug and play. Just one call to the cable company to get it registered with them. Took all of 20 minutes from box to running. Should be good now until I get past 2.5Gb internet speed which should be a ways off.

Works Good for Xfinity Gigabit Internet

I bought this when my Xfinity internet got upgraded to the gigabit plan. I did have some a couple of cheaper DOCSIS 3.1 options available and went with this one mostly for aesthetic reasons as I keep my modem and router out in the open. Technically I am on the 1200Mbps plan, though my router only has a gigabit Ethernet port and cannot take the full bandwidth from the 2.5 gigabit port that is on the modem. Still though I am consistently pulling down 950+ Mbps on my speed tests and everything has been super stable since I first installed this a few months ago. My previous modem was also a Surfboard and I've had good luck with their modems.

It is nice to have a 2.5gbps ethernet port for future updates in my mesh network system. It has two ethernet ports but you can only use one unless your IPS allows two IPs for your service. Works fast, is small, and not bad looking. This was a nice upgrade from a 3.0 modem. Always a bit painful getting the new modem activated with Xfinity. Took 30m on the phone for them to figure the update internally.

I’ve had this modem for 4 months now, and I’ve been very impressed. I choose the Arris S33 over the Motorola MB8611 mostly because it was on sale at the time for less, plus I had BestBuy rewards credit to put toward it.
The modem itself has been a bit of an improvement over my Xfinity XB7. The XB7 is also made by Arris, but uses an Intel chipset, the S33 uses a newer Broadcom chipset that I feels performs better. With the XB7, even though I have 1.2 Gb speeds, at most I would only hit approximately 900 Mb with downloads. The S33 hits at 1.1 Gb on the same Speedtest.net test using the same server.
I can confirm that this modem runs pretty hot. Using a digital thermometer, I was reading 134 degrees F at the top vents, compared to 107 degrees coming out of the my ASUS RT-AX86U router running 30 devices. My solution was to get a 120mm USB fan and place it underneath the modem, and that cooled things down significantly.

Works well I have had no issues with it, set up was pretty easy. It does have a 2.5gb lan port but I have yet to be able to fully use it since my router only supports 1gb WAN but at 1gb/s it works well and have had no issues would recommend.
