Fast and reliable!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a high speed modem for my new cable internet connection. After much research, I picked the Arris SURFboard. This modem is reasonably priced, easy to use, and has a compact design to place the unit away from public view. It provides the broadband needed to maximize the benefits of a high speed connection.

Great product for all your home Internet needs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product for all your home Internet needs. I have been using this product for about two months now, and I've had no problems. Well there was an issue with Mediacom not going to work well with the server, but I blame that one on poor customer service. The device itself has been flawless and worked very well together with my Airport time capsule

Works well with fast Internet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much to say about a cable modem. It either works and handles the speeds you're throwing at it or it doesn't. I have 150Mbps Internet with Comcast and use a high end router so I didn't want one of their combo router/modems that they were going to charge me $10 a month to lease. So I got this modem and have been happy with it. I chose this model because of the potential for even higher speeds. Right now my connection maxes out around 192Mbps with Boost so I'm not hitting the limits of the modem but I plan on having this modem for many years to come so if I eventually am able to upgrade to 250 or 300Mbps it will be able to handle it and not be pushing the limits of its capabilities, even with Boost pushing it over my rated speed. This model has 16 download channels compared to 8 for the SB141 which maxes out at 343Mbps. That probably would have been enough but now I definitely won't have to worry about maxing out my modem.

Smooth cruise and constant power!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been using it for 3 months and hasn't given me any issues, I have the Comcast best internet at the moment which is 150gb and with this modem I get 175gb all the time. Price is great I matched it with Walmart and saved a few bucks. Plus I'm not paying Comcast for the rented modem, it will basically pay itself in 10months. This is a win win

Get rid of that Rental Modem Now!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My father was "Renting" a Telephony Cable modem from TWC, as are many folks. It was the Arris TM822G; Modem/Telephone Interface attached to a Dlink Wireless N Router because the Arris product does not have WIFI. Unforunatelly because of using TWC for telephone service they reqiuire that he keeps the 822g for the telephony but they no longer charge for the privilege. Everything I read recommends keeping the Cable modem seperate from the Router even though Motorola/Arris offers this product with WIFI combined. When using the ISP for your Telephony you have to split the wire out of the "Wall" (Coax Splitter runs under 10 Bucks) with one coax going to the 822g for Phone serivce and the other going to the 6183 for internet. Call the provider and give them the MAC address off the new modem and explain you are installing your new Cable Modem so you don't have to pay rental anymore. I connected a new Linksys EA6350 wireless AC Router to the 6183. Everything worked like a champ and the Speed improvement was dramatic. The 6183 has 16 down load channels 4 up vs. the 822G wchich has 8 download and 4 up. I bought both products at Best Buy as they matched the lowest prices and I got points to boot. Good luck!

Perfect replacement for TW leased product.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install; works great. Compatible with Time Warner internet service and cheaper than paying their lease fee each month. Best Buy sales rep recommended and was very helpful in explaining why it was immportant to get a product that was compatible with Time Warner service and that this was the right product to get. Thanks Best Buy!

Great modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My internet provider offered a new deal to get 300 Mbps for less than what I was previously paying, so I decided to jump on that deal and needed to buy a DOCSIS 3.0 to handle the increased speed. This modem was on their approved list and I liked the features offered on it over any others on that list. Very easy to install and so far no issues with it.

Good for Optimum
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to use instead of the piece of junk cablevision/optimum make you pay 10 dollars a month for. It was very easy to setup (required a call to the cable company) and has been running great since. I’ve noticed speeds slightly above the level of service I pay for which is nice.

Inexpensive, approved Xfinity router that works.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old router fell off of the Comcast list and I was getting 30 Mbps instead of the 150 that Comcast said that they were giving me, so I thought that I'd start with the modem. I already have a good router (R7000 Nighthawk), so I didn't want to change that unless I had to. I unboxed the modem, hooked it up and then called Xfinity/Comcast/Whatever to get it re-provisioned top see if that would help. It picked up 15 Mbps, but was still way under what I was promised, so I unhooked the router and wired the modem directly to my computer and found that I had almost a 170 Mbps download speed. This showed me that the modem worked fine. Sorry for the rant, but this Docsis 3. modem works and works well and unless you have a better than 500 Mbps download setup, this modem works Great for that at a good price too.

Great Cable Modem - Quit paying monthly rental fee
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this modem because I was tired of paying my cable internet provider a monthly fee which they just tried to raise again! Enough is enough. I bought this modem, called Time Warner Road Runner and it was activated almost immediately. Now it is paying for itself every month. It seems a little faster, and has been running great with no problems!

modem for simple family
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new modem because our previous Motorola one died after 8 years. I got this one, which the store rep told me was the latest and greatest. The modem was easy to install, with picture guide! Took me less than 5 minutes. Everything works great. Speeds are fine. I like the white color because it blends nicely against the white walls.

Getting Current Tech
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I began to see difficulties on the internet, it did not occur to me just how old my previous cable modem was. The representative at my local Best Buy explained what I may have problems with, and suggested that I update my modem. Very glad I did. Speed has increased, and I now have functions I did not have before. Easy to install.

Easy and efficient.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to replace my current cable modem since Comcast stopped supporting the previous on. This one is fast and was very easy to install. Unbox it, plug it into the wall, plug the Ethernet to the computer, and screen on the cable connection and your done....5 minutes top. The longest piece of the entire process is calling Comcast to activate it.

Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For my application this modem may be overkill but It is amazing. I have it hooked to my smart tv for streaming movies. factor in your internet speed from your provider because you're limited to what you are paying for. At any rate this is a great modem for all applications.

Plug in, wait a few seconds, INTERNET!! Flawless.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit did what it was supposed to do - out of the box and completely idiot proof (meaning even my cable company can't screw it up). AND it resulted in a 30% increase in internet speed over the modem the cable company provided. And best of all - no cable modem rental fee.

Good all around-er
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.extremely easy to set up. Pretty much a plug-and-play. Does exactly what I needed to do and still manages to out run the rented one from the local ISP I was using. Make no mistake, it is nothing spectacular. But it covers the basic needs and will pay for itself in 10 months of what would have been rent on the one that came from the ISP.

Modem with speed and performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this particular modem because it met the requirements of my internet provider, Time Warner and it was also fast enough to allow for future speed enhancements. I wanted to future proof my wireless setup and owning the modem also cut down on my monthly rental cost for service. I figure it will pay for itself in about a year.

Find the right speed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good for up to 686 Mbps and 1 gig for ethernet, which is more than I need. Are other options for 1.4 and 10 Gbps. Price was discounted and I suspect it is being phased out. The 1.4 was only $10-20 more.
