It is good for internet speed up to 300 Mbps, I have 150 Mbps internet speed plan and runs smoothly. The only problem I have is the modem smells bad when it gets hot.

Not much to review. It works as advertised. Basic cable modem. Speed is great handles the 200 mb service just fine. Only complaint is there’s only one port out on the back. Doesn’t matter much because my router has 3 outs but it was worth mentioning if, like me, you want to plug your computer / tv in directly because it’s close enough to run a wired connection.

Better than a combo Arris Modem / router

My last n300 cable modem, the ARRIS SBG6580, was supposed to give me both Cable Modem connection to devices and home WiFi. It failed after 8 months, and didn't have a strong signal to each a downstairs TV (Netflix, YouTube). This new modem-only SBSB6183 is much faster, able to deal with multiple devices, and the WiFi signal thru the connected Netgear Nighthawk R7000 WiFi router is strong throughout the house ... and the TV.

This device works well on the Comcast (Xfinity) network, although it did require intervention by Comcast to get it properly registered. The self-registration appeared to work, but performance was flakey until I called tech support and they remotely registered it. After that, it has been smooth sailing. The device does get and stay pretty warm -- warm enough that I have been careful to keep good airflow around it. But with the rental fee I save, I upped my bandwidth to 150MB. My Google WIFI bandwidth test show me getting between 165 and 175 MB down pretty consistently.

I replaced my Optimum supplied Arris modem with this model. I cut the cord and so don't get TV or a home landline phone and didn't want to pay the cable modem rental fee. I called into Optimum tech support, gave them the MAC address of this unit and was up and running. Optimum tech support said this model is a modem they support. Running flawlessly for a month now.

I am only downloading at 100 mbps, but the potential to get more is there with this modem. I have had no issues with it the past few days that I have been using it and would definitely recommend it to another buyer. It offers the potential to be more useful when higher download speeds are used, is very dependable and extremely affordable.

After living with DSL internet for over 10 years, it was time to make the leap into the 21st century. Switching from Verizon DSL to Time Warner Cable was the best decision ever - not just for internet, but for TV and phone service as well! After owning this modem for a little over a week, I have to say, no complaints! There is absolutely no loss of speed, either wired or wireless. Definitely would recommend!

Doesn't work if fiber comes directly into your hom

I would have kept this router but it would not work with my new fiber optic connection into my home. ISP xfinity from Comcast. I moved into a new construction and xfinity ran a fiber line straight into my house then converted it to coax. This causes an extremely high power and noise output and after several attempts to clear up the issue with the noise it never fell into range for the outer 8 channels so it never connected.
This product works great for connections where coax lines come into the home. My buddy has this same modem and hashas never had a problem. Great speeds with his connection

With comcast upping the speeds of 105 to 150mbps, I knew I needed a new cable modem. I did my research and this is the one to get. It has been constant, has the 16 channels which I can take advantage of, and has given me solid results every time I run speediest. I have 28 networked devices in my house (from 4 MacBooks, iPads, iPhones, xboxes, directv, Ooma phone, etc) and use VPN for work, this modem has been perfect.
