I bought this because it was one of the recommended products by our cable company, Oceanic Time-Warner. The setup was super easy. The speed and stability of this product is fantastic! Is so much better than the older one I am replacing (Scientific American???). Apparently this is so feature-packed that it is "future proof" too. My only complaint is that the lights on the modem are too bright.

What can I say? This modem was simple to set up online, delivers solid performance, and is extremely fast! Downloads as well as uploads exceeded my expectations. If you are a Time Warner customer that prefers to own their equipment versus renting this is in my opinion the best modem you can currently own!

I got this as a replacement for the one rented out by Time Warner -- works great -- SUPER fast speeds -- no Wifi (which is great if you already use an airport Extreme). Only drawback? LED's are BRIGHT!!

OUTSTANDING cable modem in terms of quality and price. Handles my entire house (tai-level), including the satellite TV. Great recommendation by the Best Buy sales associate. VERY EASY set up. Everything connected on first attempt. If you need a reliable and fast cable modem, do NOT rent from cable company, BUY this Motorola - Arris SURFboard 600 Series Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem.

ARRIS Surfboard cable modem is very easy to install with included software. Works with my Xfinity network provider and with additional router hookup, everything is ffast and reliable without disconnections as experienced with other models. Perfect for my home network and cable hookup.

Love this modem. Easy to setup. Fast (with Xfinity 150Mb). Stable. Unfortunately, the LED indicators are insanely bright. They lit up my bedroom, even when hidden behind a bookshelf. And you can't just cover the front of the device. The light radiates out from the vented enclosure. So I Googled a solution and decided to crack open the modem. Easy to do. And I used liquid white out to paint the individual LEDs with a few coats of "concealer." Sure...that voided the warranty, but it worked like a charm! All set now.

I replaced the cable company's modem/router with this Motorola modem and a Netgear router. This modem supports speeds exceeding what TWC currently offers, so it should be good for future service upgrades. It has a basic web server built in giving details of its operation and configuration. You really can't change its configuration though as that is controlled by the cable company. So far it delivers the speeds I'm provisioned for (200/20), but over the past month, there have been many disconnects/outages, like several times a week. I think most of these were due to TWC's problem (seems to be caused mostly by bad weather). It's hard to say if any of the disconnects were caused by the modem itself. One thing is certain though, it runs pretty hot. Overall, it seems to work well, but I wonder about the long term effects of the heat.

Awesome price and value for this coax modem. They are very reliable. Make sure when buying that your Internet Service Provider approves use of this model first. Also this modem is only for coax hookup and if you are subscribed to get over 600 mbps speeds then get the next model ARRIS up.

I don't normally write reviews but this modem is definitely worthy of a great one. I got this modem to replace my Motorola/Arris SB6141 modem. Even though it provides the same speed, it just feels faster. Pages seem to load quicker and everything just feels zippier. The SNR ratios on the downstream channels are also higher with this modem, meaning that it gets a stronger signal from the node, which is always a good thing.
I was happy with the SB6141, which is still a great modem, but I am even more impressed with the speed and reliability of the SB6183. I haven't had any issues at all with it. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a replacement modem and/or don't want to pay your cable provider any more rental fees. Just make sure it's compatible with your service provider first!

My cable provider is Cablevision (Optimum) and this modem is fully compatible and very easy to install. Just plug in and call Cablevision to connect. Our internet speed is also much faster than before (120 / 40 mbps on Download/Upload vs. about 40/20 mpbs before). Very satisfied with the purchase. Highly recommended.

I bought this router for a 2-bedroom apartment. It's definitely an upgrade from the Surfboard I had previously, which was probably 5 years old. This gives me good speeds and is relatively easy to set up. I also rarely have any issues with it or the router that require resets.

I recently upgraded my internet service, and with it needed to upgrade my cable modem. This modem provides all the bandwidth I need, at a pretty good price. Installation was quick and easy.
About the only complaint I have is that the lights on the front of the modem are very bright. No need for a night light in its room. :-)

I had an old Linksys modem and my Comcast service kept going down. Each time I had to wait some time in order to re-set the modem. Comcast wrote several times telling me the old modem didn't have the speed capacity that could utilize their new and higher speeds. This modem was easy to set up and re-sets easily when I moved it and on the (now rarer) Comcast down-times. It does, however, far exceed the current speeds I can connect to, so it might have been a slight over-purchase in my case. But hopefully it will be good for several more years. One thing to be aware of, and I was when I purchased it, it does not support VOIP.

Bought this modem to replace modem that I had paid for, and would still be paying for, through internet provider. EASY setup and top quality speed and reliability. Will be many years, if ever, before internet provider has modem to match this speed and quality. VERY pleased with purchase price, ease of setup, quality, and speed!!

For the longest time, I've had this modem on backorder from A-maz-on but while I was shopping in store with my family, I passed by the modem section to find the 6183 by chance. I tried shopping for this on BB's website to no avail in-store. Wouldn't you know, it was here - but there was only one and it was in the wrong section. I don't even think there was a shelf tag for it as I had to take it to the computer sales desk to scan it. Sure enough, it was the same price.
TW had no problem allowing this modem on their cable line. I was up and running and not paying their modem fee in no time. I pull down exactly as I expect and am looking to pull down more, like 300+ in the future when or if my neighborhood gets upgraded.
My connection has only gone down 3 times since November 1, but I suspect that it is my router - I run pretty close to the most recent firmware of my router so I expect that I am a test dummy. Usually, when I experience too many interruptions, I downgrade my firmware to a known and reliable version. No fault of the modem.
The modem is white. At night, it is nearly translucdent, allowing the blue and green led's to shine and light up my ceiling and surrounding area. Great for a night-light. Bad for those sensative to any light at night.
This should last me for the next 5-years I suspect. I wouldn't recommend this for consumers not looking for the fasttest possible speed. The lesser versions of the Surfboard series should suffice the minimum requirements for slower service. This is the only modem from Moto that is allowed for the Ultimate plan.

Comcast recently increased the speeds in my area, which necessitated upgrading my modem from the SB6141. The SB6183 was in stock at Best Buy, and shortly thereafter I had it in place of the SB6141.
It took Comcast a few minutes, but the modem went online smoothly. It has not had a problem since.

I purchased this modem to use with use with my ISP and it works like a gem. It’s small and compact, but quite powerful. It takes up very little space and performs well. It was reasonably priced and was very easy to set up with my internet connection.

I have had this modem for the past 4.5 years without any problems. I strongly recommend this modem. I plan on upgrading to a docsis 3.1 soon with the goal of buying another Arris modem line. The reliability with this modem is unreal !
I had been using this modem with a Netgear R7000 router for years without any issues. Most recently I upgraded my router to a Eero AC Dual-Band Mesh System(3-pack), and kept the same modem
( Arris SB 6183). This modem has been working well with my new Eero AC-Dual mesh system. I have been averaging download speeds above 230 Mbps, upload speeds 4-5 Mbps with my current set up. I am paying for only 200 Mbps speed !

It was time to upgrade! I had the 6141?? The older model that only had 4 down and 4 up. I was having spotty connections at home and was due for a router upgrade. During my research on routers. I read about the 6183. I decided with one upgrade I should do the other. Hopefully, and so far it did, I have opened up any bottlenecks in my internet connections both wired and wireless with this modem and the big Triband Asus Rt AC3200. I am very happy so far! This could not be simpler to install... activating with xfinity didn't work right away through browser so I had to call and that took 20min. <<<Could be do to account login errors. I am all set for Star Wars Battlefront when it comes!
