Fast modem, future proof. I recommend this modem over other models.

I read a few reviews on this before buying, figuring a cable modem is a cable modem. This one got a lot of good reviews beyond the normal "any DOCSIS 3.0 modem will do", and so far I've been happy with the purchase. After several weeks, I've not had to do anything such as reboot / power it off and back on, etc, so it seems to work very well.

I used to use a Motorola SB6141 cable modem. That thing rebooted itself every time I tried to watch Netflix even though I had excellent signal levels according to Time Warner Cable. One day I got fed up and bought the 6183 from Best Buy and I'm happy to report that it's been up for over a month straight and counting, even with lots of Netflix streaming. Definitely recommend.

Excellent low-cost modem if you want to avoid investing in xfinity/fios devices. Works perfectly fine if paired with eero. Without a doubt I’d recommend this one for beginners and those who want router & modem instead of combined devices.

This thing is simple and reliable. Works perfect, this is a cable modem only meaning you still need a WiFi router if you want WiFi. This only has one Ethernet output so you can either have one wired item connected or plug the Ethernet into a WiFi router. I use this for Comcast internet and works great.

I bought this with the NETGEAR - Wireless-AC1750 Dual-Band Gigabit Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch - Black to replace the all in one router we were renting from xfinity/comcast. Must say it was a major upgrade. Had problems with signal in a not-so-big home plus Xbox one and ps4 giving me NAT issues, but this coupled with the router solved the problem.

I was having trouble connecting to our interenet after we had upgrade our speed package . purchase this modem to see if it would boost up my speed and have a better connection after having the modem activated,went home and plug in, took a few trys to able to lock in my signal thereafter yes my speed went up and download speed is much faster than the previous one i had.

Great modem. Speed drops have become significantly less common. Still experience some drag but feel it’s time to upgrade the wireless router and lift the blame off of ARRIS SURFboard SB6183. If looking to up grade and are ready/needing to make the jump all, this is excellent. And for the price, not sure it can’t be matched.

After having dropped connection with my cable internet for over a year, I was FINALLY advised by Comcast that the problem was the modem which had reached "end of life" per their guidelines. (despite the fact the modem I bought was only purchased 6 months previously and recommended on their website) In any event, my new Motorola ARRIS SB6183 is working like a champ and I haven't had a dropped signal yet. A big improvement over dropped signals every few minutes. Although expensive, worth it if you want fast and reliable internet.

I have 350 download speeds and this router outputs the easily. I have it shooting downstream for Ethernet to be split by a router and then into a mesh wifi system supplying internet to a fairly large house. If you are looking to get a good cable modem for under $100 this is the one for you.
