Replaces cable company modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works flawlessly and easy set up. Bought to replace Comcast modem. LED lights on front panel are a bit bright but can be shut off via the setting on your browser. I looked at the higher priced model but this worked just fine. Bought an Apple AirPort Extreme router with it and had no issues.

Good value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up.have had for 1-2 months with no problems. Haven’t had to reset it at all, unlike the cable co one I was renting previously. Compact size doesn’t take up much space at all. Would buy again. You do not need a high priced modem. This one is great!

Great basic Modem with no fees
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great basic Modem to not have to rent one from Mediacom. This unit is a step up from the lower level they sell. it is used in conjunction with a Linksys/Cisco EA4500 router. The only issue is the unit is in a bed room and the LED's very bright and I do not have the option in the IP menu to turn them off or down as this option appears to be available with some provider units.

Terrific Modem
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is a leader in the industry because be it is good. Priced Right the modem i easy to setup out of the box. The projected speed of internet service is not overstated. I use Comcast Blast which promises 300 download and this modem claims to offer 600 down. Well they are not lying. I am get 350 to 370 down. Another great thing about this modem is that it is Comcast compatible which mean you can stop paying Comcast to rent their modem. For the cost of 5 months of Comcast rental you can buy this unit. Stop paying Comcast rental fees in which you pay for their modem 15 times over. It is nuts. Buy this modem today.

Motorola Still #1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long time Motorola user, replaced my outdated surfboard after Comcast raised their speeds in my area. Had that modem for 6 years w/o a single fault, unfortunately (or fortunately) internet speeds rose so fast it became obselete. I stuck with the surfboard due to reliability and have not been disapponted. I am subscribed to the blast internet and Comcast recently raised my speed from 100 to 150 Mbps. With my old modem I could only pull roughly 125 Mbps on a speed test. Affer purchasing this modem I constantly pull 165-176 mbps, depending on time of day. I am far from dissapointed. I was told by Comcast to upgrade because they were trying to phase out 4x4 (downstream/upstream) modems and I would need an 8x4 or more to fully use my speeds. Unless you are subscribed to 150+, or your ISP is suggesting you upgrade modems because they are pushing for more channels, this modem is too much power. I'd suggest the lower speed rated surfboards that still fit your needs but save you $.

Perfect -- For Me!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a pricey Linksys AC1200 router less than a year ago. 1800 square foot ranch home -- not huge. Not a lot going on here; desktop computer, laptop iPad, 3 cell phones. For whatever reason, that think just kept dropping the signal - completely. I would have to reboot it -- probably 3 times a week. Also -- this fantastic router wouldn't reach 40 feet (through two walls) to the other side of the house. Linksys was no help. Time Warner Cable was wonderful, and we narrowed it down to the reviews and what everyone else was having trouble with. (Check Amazon reviews for that model.) I'm no techie, but for whatever reason, it kept "resetting" itself. I, myself, couldn't fix it, and couldn't get anyone else to, and not for the price of a new one. So, I did a bit of research, and purchased this one. Easy set up. Called TWC to have them activate it, and BOOM! Not a single issue in about 4 months. No resets. No having to reboot. And it reaches EVERYWHERE in the house. Even out to the backyard....

Strong upgrade for Cable Modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my cable modem and looked at Best Buy for a replacement. Easy to setup if you follow directions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The modem is great. The reason for the review is to help someone not make the mistake I made. We have an Ooma device for our phone. I had it plugged directly into the old modem, then plugged the router into the Ooma. When I put the new modem in, I left the connections the same. Shouldn't have done that. Should have left the Ooma out and plugged the router straight into the modem. First thing that happens when you open up a browser, you're taken to a page where you register your new modem with Comast. That takes about a minute if you already have your account information handy. After it's registered, then plug in the Ooma. We actually do notice a difference with the new modem. Videos, pictures are all loading noticeably quicker now.

Reliable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had the same brand modem before just not as fast as this one, it works very well and now we moved to a new area with internet cheaper with faster speed, we upgrade it and got this faster model. Easy to set up and hopefully just as reliable as the last one we have.

Great modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all reviews before purchasing. This modem is small and easy to setup. Works great for xfinity cable. Great buy for a great price. Everyone who said the lights are bright were 100 percent right. Who cares about that if it works awesome.

Great modem at a great price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great modem at an affordable price. I spoke with multiple Best Buy personnel and this model received high praise. Wasn't too hard to set up and has really worked well with my Comcast internet and the connected wi-fi devices.

Functional and simple
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't need WiFi combo'ed in with your cable modem this is a totally sufficient product to choose. It is compatible with the new DOCSIS 3.0 service most cable companies are pushing (basically so you can get the higher speeds like 100mbps) and it's extremely simple to install. All you do is plug in your cables and one computer, call your cable company and they walk you thru setup. They also register the MAC address. Buy this modem and avoid paying for an equipment fee. Any WiFi router will work in conjunction with it. Net gear and Asus are good. That setup is easy too especially if you read the instructions, but my cable company even offered to help me set that up too. And remember neither piece of equipment is rented from them. Saving money is awesome and I didn't need to spend more on the newer modem of this modem.

Great modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Download speed on this modem is fast. It is about three time faster than my old NetGear modem. Installation and setup is very easy. I have this Arris modem for more than a year without any issues.

Very Stable and Fast!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my cable modem that took a surge hit because of a bad surge protector. I did a little reading and I saw the reviews for this modem and I decided to get it based on the reviews. I am glad I bought it because it my broadband carrier had better speeds that this modem could handle better and with better stability than my old one. When I called my carrier they discovered that they had me throttled down because of my old modem hardware so when I called to have this on activated in their system my internet speeds opened up and now I have twice the bandwidth for the same monthly price. the look and size are appealing and blend well in my home environment and it is small enough that it can be tucked away if it wouldn't blend well. Overall I am very happy with my purchase of this Arris modem.

Flawless out of the box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was quick and easy. Cox took several tries to upgrade my throughput. Online tech could not do it, went to the store and it was enabled, another round with the phone tech and I was blazing away. Had it month and not one issue with the modem.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really fast, set up really quick and easy and Cox approved. No compatibility issues. This is my second Motorola - Arris Surfboard. The other one was awesome as well. I just had to upgrade the speed so, I stuck with what I knew!

Excellent Cable Modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this based on the reviews and it's specifications. It was easy to use and better than the reused modems had gotten from Cox which always had problems.....Once I hooked this up it just worked and save the monthly fee.

Excellent performance with some headroom
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last cable modem was a Motorola, and I had that for many years of reliable service. It never stopped working. I upgraded to this one only to take advantage of the features of DOCSIS 3.0. It installed quickly with one call to the cable company, and the speed boost was immediately noticeable. The modem has more channels available than my cable company uses, so when they upgrade their system I won't have to change modems. I anticipate being able to use this modem as long as I did my last. Couldn't be happier.

Replace your Old Modem . . . Now
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are currently renting a modem I strongly suggest you replace your modem now. This modem comes in at around $140 (with tax) in contrast you are probably paying anywhere from $100 to $120 a year for your rental. Additional the modem provided by your internet provide is probably not state of art. They must buy lots of modems to lease out, so they will be chosen for their cost effectiveness to the provider. Even if you replace it in 2 years you still come out ahead. I have now had this modem for 3 months. Setup was easy. I have also noticed a speed increase when pages load. My old provider modem was 2 years old and when I asked I was told I had the most current modem that they provided. And it looks much better on my desk than the ugly black thing it replaced.
