Modem is awesome, very reliable, rarely needs to be restarted or hangs up. Frequently pulls speeds 20% or more over my 'paid for' speed with Comcast. Setup was simple.

I bought this to replace my old modem/router combo (also made by Arris). The price was great for the speed and other customers with Comcast, Time Warner, etc. have had success. I have Optimum Online and Optimum/Cablevision was NOT listed on the box of this modem. I arrogantly assumed that all DOCSIS 3.0 modems should be compatible but that's just not how it works.
Even though my old modem was Arris and some of Optimum's modems are Arris, this new wave of Arris modems don't seem to be compatible with their system. I tried this one and the cheaper 686 mbps one as well and they just wouldn't provision. The Optimum tech actually told me that some customers have had success with Netgear modems so I went with the Netgear CM-500, which had Optimum/Cablevision listed on the box and it posted instantly.
So, in short, I gave this 5 stars because I learned something. It couldn't work with my service. However I would actually recommend this to anybody whose cable company is actually listed on the box. My friend uses this brand with Comcast and has no problem.

$90 seems expensive for older technology, docsis 3.0 vs docsis 3.1, but compact for a modem and has been reliable so far and typically delivers the speeds that I'm paying for which is 200 mb/sec.

This router was purchased as a replacement to an older Surfboard router which went EOL (end of life) and is no longer supported by my cable provider Spectrum. Installation was straightforward. The only issue (minor issue) was that I had to call Spectrum to have them acknowledge the new router. Phone call was 15-20 minutes long. The router is working well and I noticed a slight increase in performance. I also upgraded to an RG6 coax as well, so that may also factor in performance as well.

Needed to upgrade my cable modem to support 400Mbs of data speed from Suddenlink as my old Arris cable is not able to support that high speed data rate and this one doesn't disappoint. It's pretty much plug and play. Replaced the old one and installed this one and called Suddenlink customer support and provided them the Serial # and voila, it's already connected in a few minutes and now able to get the 413bps downlink and 43Mbps uplink. This cable modem can even support up to 1.4Gbps so in case I need to upgrade my data speed to 1Gbps in the future, this cable modem is already ready.

This is lightening fast and utilizes my speeds from ISP. It’s reliable and doesn’t need reset (haven’t had to restart in months). When my ISP goes down (happened twice) are the only times I thought my modem or router needed reset, but that wasn’t the actual problem. So far, very pleased with the item.
Gave 4 stars due to reboot time. If you do have to restart this modem, or you lose power, it can take well over two minutes for the unit to power up and be detected by your ISP.

Notification from Comcast advised my former modem was not taking advantage of increased download speed that I was subscribing to (200 mbps) and needed to upgrade. I did upgrade and when attached to modem directly via a ethernet cable the speed was faster (about 90 mbps), but the wifi connection did not have an increase in speed (used Xfinity Speed Test to test this). My wifi router may be too slow (although it is suppose to handle up to 300 mbsp). I guess the router will need to be upgraded as well to take advantage of Comcast increased speed. I would recommend this modem due to ease of set up but only purchase if you have a very old modem that needs replacement (this replaced a Surfboard 6120).

It does a wonderful job. I am hoping to get a gaming router this Christmas and I will put out some numbers. The LED light on the front is really good. Setup was step by step. I had to work with my cable provider, but it was pretty easy. The box said exactly which cable providers it could work with prior to purchase. Highly recommend. It has awesome Blue LED lights on it. Only disappointment was that it was white, but that wasn't life or death. I save money monthly on a modem rental, so it will pay for itself in less than a year. Who wouldn't want to save a little money...just saying.

SB6190 works like a champ, and glad I got it. Had a SB6141, which it replaced, and found later I didn't have to as described here. Suspected 6141 had gone bad due to being kicked off line every night. Problem turned out to be the Airport router, and new IPv6 address standards recently implemented (Feb-Mar 2016). My IP called me after I told them I bought SB6190 and still experiencing problem; and told them it was their service. They advised that I make adjustment in IVp6 Airport settings to 'local only' in settings, which fixed problem. Was told Apple would be putting out firmware update to fix all Airport routers (soon). So, would still recommend 6141, too. Kept it for backup. Sorta hacked at Apple, though, not sure if newer Airports had/have same problem. Mine was from 2012. Using Apt Extreme and Apt Express as extender. Both IVp6 settings were adjusted, and everything is hunky dory.

This modem is very fast and allows me to access the full speed of internet that I am paying for. I was averaging 150 Mbps with my old Comcast modem and now I am constantly getting 179.99 mbps on speed tests on my 150 Mbps plan. Plus I saved 10 bucks a month avoiding the Comcast rental speed. The only downfall of this modem is that it's not docsis 3.1 so eventually when Comcast activates that service in my area I will need to upgrade again. So far connection has been rock solid.

I had to replace my modem that was eight years old and it finally had kicked the bucket. This modem was easy to install and has greatly increased the performance of the speed of my internet in my home and with WIFI. We have three HD TVs with streaming, Playstation 4, XBOX One, two desktops, two laptops and three tablets in the house. We are using our internet constantly. Before there would be performance issues if we were running four or five devices at the same time. Now with this new modem there are no longer any performance isssues. I would highly recommend this product to everyone.

This is a great modem so far. I didn't spend a ton of time researching but this one had great reviews and after my brand new nighthawk crapped out I thought I'd try a different brand. Its not fancy looking but it gets the job done. Sometimes simple is better. I like that it has a small footprint as well. This, paired with my Nest mesh wifi system is delivering blazing fast wifi that is faster than what its supposed to be! No complaints here at all!

Purchased this for my Comcast Xfinity (new) service to avoid a $20/month rental charge. Easy hookup. Phoned Xfinity tech to allow it on the network. Fast and reliable. I'm getting solid 300mbps on this with no issues. Highly recommended. Using my own WIFI router (Apple) for WIFI connection within the home--works very well. I hadn't had Comcast service for over 20-years and am also quite impressed with the Xfinity service and technical support.

This cable modem is exceptional! If you have an ultra-high speed gigabit connection, you MUST buy this modem. Break neck performance, small and lightweight, does not overheat, and just plain fantastic! It's worth the money and worth the price to upgrade. If you do not have a ultra-high speed gigabit connection you can save your money, but you'll probably upgrade eventually, so why not buy the best device?
