I purchased this modem to replace an SB6121 so that I could take advance of faster speeds now offered by my internet provider. This modem maxes out speeds over 1GB (1000 MB), so it's future proofed for years. It's definitely not a low budget item, but if you want/need to max out Internet speed, you really can't go wrong here. I've also found it performs well over wireless with my Netgear Nighthawk router.

I have Xfinity and use this modem with no issues. My average download speeds are 150mbps which is what I pay for. If you have gigabit internet you will want the next model up. Once you purchase this or a similar modem you just plug it into the cable outlet and log into your xfinity account. From there you'll register the modem to work with your account and your done. You can call Xfinity and they will help you if you get stuck at any point. Xfinity also has a list on their website that lists all compatible modems. A lot of people aren't aware but Xfinity uses the modem / router that you rent from them as a hotspot for other Xfinity customers to use. By owning your own equipment you no longer pay to rent from them and you maintain full control over the internet you pay for. My last modem worked for almost 6 years and I replaced it with this one. The savings alone by owning and not renting exceeded $400. It's worth it to just buy a modem and wireless router.

This cable modem has worked great for 2 years now. Originally I had this installed with a Comcast setup and was getting over 250MB download speed which matched the service I was paying for. Then switched to a different provider when I moved (not a national provider). Received 200MB download speeds which matched what I was paying for from provider. Can't ask for much more. Item is plug and play easy to install.

I would have to say that my feelings regarding this modem was a small roller coaster ride, but after using it for a while this is my take on it: it does its job. When I first started using it, it was a straight work horse. The speed was handled and for a while, no complaints. Then the fluctuations in speed started. As I couldn't figure out the problem, I tried calling the ISP which ran speed tests. On their end (their opinion) it worked fine and stated that the modem was doing its job, for what the statements were worth. After researching the modem, I called the manufacturer and they also ran some tests. They stated that the ISP was not offering exactly what the modem was built to handle, as if I had the previous modem of before. I went bacj to the ISP and they worked their "magic" to the best of their ability. The modem performed slightly better, even after reading reviews of this modem that were not as favorable. My conclusion: the modem is worth its weight. The ISP is not always stable and will dip and change, depending on your hardware, your ISP hardware, other people's hardware, their usage and the network health. Do not let the negative reviews stop you from buying or considering this model, regardless of the factors listed, has not failed me since integrating it into the network. P.S. : if it gets a little heated, that's be abuse of the design coupled with extended high usage due to multiple 4K streaming.

Salespeople at Best Buy were a great help and pointed out that this product would not only handle the current increase in capacity but would serve us well into the future. No one had explained that previously and for relatively little extra cost we were confident we bought a product that would continue to be effective for a number of years. After bringing it home, it was super easy for me to install and we were back in business within an hour and a half of going down. It's worked perfectly and continually since.

Works flawless! Speed is stable and faster compared to previous modem. Other brand owned previously did not hold up as long and speed constantly drops. Had to restart modem each time to have speed back to where it should be. Arris is my go to!

After using the older model For 7 years straight that can only handle up to 300mbps, it’s had a constant on/off defect. After purchasing this unit - I’ve only encountered that issue less than a handful of times but it was mainly due to my ISP. Future proofing my household as the general speeds increase overtime - this sucker can handle those fast speeds. Def. Recommend for general home use. Plug and play after activating it through the ISP.

Got this to replace my old modem which suddenly died. No problems with installation and activation on Spectrum and it's been running fine for the past week. The only thing that bothers me is that the status lights are a little too bright for where I had to place the modem. It was like a blue night light. Taped a grey piece of paper to the front panel to dim it a bit while still allowing the lights to be seen. Other than that, no complaints.

This is a good modem. It works fine most of the time (occasionally I have shut it down to reset it due to internet slowing down). But, I can't say it is the modem's fault. It is probably the signal from the Internet provider. It is pretty fast when everything works great (the modem itself works fine). I have an Apple router and a network extender. I cannot recommend this combination, because of various issues I experienced with the network. But, I feel good about recommending this modem.

This was a great upgrade from our previous cable modem. We really like that this only a modem and not also a router. We paired it with the Netgear NightHawk and have excellent wifi and wired connections throughout our home. The modem holds up to our speeds of 300 mbps well and was super easy to set up. We felt that for the price it was an excellent choice for our needs. I would highly recommend.

This modem was a perfect replacement for my old Arris modem that I had for over 5 years (I'm keeping it for possible backup as there was nothing wrong with it), prompted by Xfinity alerting me to make the change to enable their faster internet speeds without issue. It started up and after a quick reset, was up and running ever since.

Had it for about half a year now. Works well with our Xfinity internet. Works fine and internet speed hasn't been an issue. The only real complaint is that occasionally the modem will just turn off and then come right back on. Lose internet for about a minute as it cycles through the light icons. Don't know if this is a problem on my end or with the unit itself. Has only happened a few times in the 6 months I've had it, but it does make me wonder if it's going to get worse. Also, its very bright!

I was running a SB6120 for years and just recently upgraded to the SB6190 (simply for a speed boost). Fortunately the upgrade was quick and easy (very unlike Comcast) and the performance difference is noticeable. I've installed this modem for a small business (20 user office) as well as two residences and this modem works perfectly for each case. The price recently went down for this model so if you're in the market for a new broadband modem that works well, then look no further.
