Picked this up after dumping my cable and home phone and didn't want to rent a modem anymore either. Took about 15 minutes to complete and a call to comcast to recognize the modem but after that it worked great. I even saw a 10% improvement in download speeds. I picked this one up vs the cheaper one as we went full streaming for everything and didn't want a bad experience with 8-10 devices using it at the same time.

I lived from he Midwest to the east coast. Found out my existing modem didn’t work here. Bought this one after making sure it is compatible with the cable company. Very fast. Had a small issue setting it up with my existing router so ended up back at Best Buy for a router too. But they work great together and im not having to mess with different product generations.

I purchased this modem after upgrading to 400 Mb because the one I’ve had for many years like it would not handle the increase in speed. I had been very satisfied with the previous one and this one is just as reliable and of course handles 400 Mb easily. Can’t go wrong with the surfboard modem. They simply work all the time.

With this cable modem, I don't have to pay the service fee to comcast. It supports more than enough bandwidth to manage and connects easily into my wifi router. Straightforward to setup and was able to connect it during installation of comcast without issue. The front panel lights are very bright though, so I suggest storing in a cabinet.

Great modem. I had been using an ISP modem/router and this is a significant improvement over the ISP equipment. My speed is now at or exceeding what I'm paying for. This modem along with a new router has significantly improved my network in my 2000 plus square foot house. We have had as many as 20 devices at one time on the network and have not noticed any lagging. Very please with my purchase.

This is my second Arris product. I purchased it because it was compatible with Time-Warner's requirements for a self-purchased modem for their cable and internet service. However, I also read the reviews which attested to it being a great product. I can only agree. The set up was almost embarrassingly easy. The performance has been solid. I've had no need to reinitialize the unit. Throughput speeds have been excellent.

This cable modem works great with xfinity and has the required channels to keep things going fast. I have the 150Mbps service and get 180+ consistently. Multiple phones, multiple computers, multiple tables, multiple TVs (watching Netflix), xbox, multiple security cameras, and a wifi thermostat all running at the same time with no slow down.

Incredible power for the price-- I recently needed to upgrade my old SURFboard from 2013 and figured a newer model would get me just as far. No frills, just one ethernet on the back and no integrated wifi, which was great because 11 years later I had a mesh router setup already. Plug it in, go to your internet provider page and register. Internet blazing fast, even streaming fps games and movies simultaneously. You can't find a better bang for your buck!

I swapped service and needed a new Cable Modem that was Compatible with Cox. I splurged and got the best on the market as of January, 2017 and it doesn't disappoint. I pay cox for 150 megaBITS per second and on the 5ghz channel, I always get around 175-190 megaBITS. This cable modem is also future proofing our house some in case Cox gets faster speeds in my area. It's all around a good, stable and fast modem.

If you have Comcast, Xfinity, ect. and connect to the internet via cable. If your internet comes into your home via co-axial cable, I recommend purchasing this product AND a high-power router with external antennas, rather buying a 2-in-1 combo.

Easy install and lightning speed. No more lagging for gaming etc. decent price.

These used to be branded by Motorola, but the new version is still a solid modem for the price, and is currently working just fine on a 500mb downstream connection from Cox and has no problems with 4k streaming or multiple high end gaming devices running at once

I recently upgraded my Internet speed with Spectrum from 100mbs to 400mbs and i do not regret it. I have it connected to a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router and i have yet to experience any lag and i have 15 devices on my network. I do gaming and streaming. Excellent product i highly recommend it and once 1gbs comes around you don't have to upgrade your modem this one can go up to 1.4gbs.

Small and compack. Very simple to instal and zero troubles after a year.

I used this modem with Comcast and it works perfectly! I was able to get the "promised" speed of 250mbps with this modem without any issue. It's very easy to set up and plug in. The difficulty comes with getting Comcast to set it up on their end but it had nothing to do with the modem. Would recommend to avoid the monthly surcharges/fees for renting the modem!

For those of you who rent the equipment from your ISP *cough cough Comcast cough* spend the money and get a decent modem. This modem is perhaps a little overkill for my wife and I and our networking needs on a daily basis we still wanted to upgrade and get what we were paying for since we were seeing about 20mbps less than what we were paying for and the most obvious problem in the chain was our 4 year old combo modem/router. The upgrade to DOCSIS 3.0 gives us the room to expand to 1gpbs internet if it ever becomes available where we live or if we move to somewhere that has it. The biggest take away is that for the monthly equipment fee you can buy your own modem and router (THIS IS NOT A ROUTER YOU WILL NEED TO BUY A SEPARATE WIFI ROUTER WITH THIS) to give you better security and tailored for your use that will pay for itself usually within 12-18 months if you consider you'd otherwise be renting it from an ISP.

Did not want to pay a rental fee from my internet provider. Wanted to buy this router, but a salesperson at Micro Center convinced me to buy another brand. We, however, could never get that router to connect. Went to Best Buy and purchased the Arris router that I originally wanted to purchase. Hooked it up and after a few minutes, it connected itself without any fuss. Has worked great ever since.

I have had this modem for a year and it has been great for my new internet! Definitely recommend as the setup is straightforward and easy to use

the more expensive cable modem i was looking for was out of stock. The Best Buy employee suggested the ARRIS Surfboard Modem. This modem has performed perfectly and was cheaper.
