This is the unit recommended bu my cable provider as being (1) fully compatible with their internet infrastructure and (2) Future proof as they grow to speeds over 1GHz. Easy to setup. Easy for my service provider to add to their system. Hasn't missed a beat since I activated it.

This cable modem gets full gigabit speeds and does not require any setup, other than telling my ISP what the MAC address is. I had to reset it a couple of times in the first week or two, but now I haven't touched it in months. Much cheaper than leasing one from my ISP.

I got this router to upgrade my outdated Motorola router which needed to be replaced. So far, I have seen a slight increase in my speeds(both download and upload) and it has worked well. It was very easy to set up and I had it up and running in a few minutes.
Based on my experience so far, I would recommend this router to anyone looking for a reliable router with high speed capability.

Breathed new life into my internet service!

I have Spectrum Internet in the Dallas area and my current speed plan is the 400mbps/20mbps down/up plan. I have had a pretty good experience using the provided modem/router in my first year of service with them where I'm currently living. I just recently started noticing more jitters, disconnects, and lag spikes while gaming. Granted, I do have more smart devices connected to my internet than I ever have but my internet should be more than capable of handling it. I reached out to Spectrum and they did some sort of "refresh" on their end that only fixed the issue for a few days at most. A friend recommended the Arris SB6190 to me. I was willing to try anything at this point because I was tired of lagging out and getting disconnected randomly from online game lobbies. The funny thing is my existing modem was also made by Arris (the one provided by Spectrum).
I plugged this SB6190 in and tried going to google once the lights all stopped blinking. Spectrum prompted me to set up the new device, and I entered the MAC ID address. After doing this, the modem reset and I was good to go. Fast, easy install. Right away I did a speed test and a latency test. Low and behold, my problems were solved. My latency was lower than every and it was also consistently low. It's only been a few days but I haven't had a single disconnect or lag spike since switching to this modem. While my download and upload speeds haven't increased, the lower and more consistent latency has made a noticeable improvement across all of my devices. When streaming videos (computer, Apple TV, phone) videos load much more quickly. They also scrub instantly now as well. When I skip ahead there's virtually no buffer time for the video to load. Highly recommend ditching your ISP provided router and going with something like this.
I am going to be replacing my WiFi router as well and returning the ISP provided equipment for a discount. In the future, I'll go this route with any cable-based internet service I have.

Awesome cable modem that eliminates the monthly rental charges that cable companies live for. Capable of a download speeds up to 1 Gbps. Has plenty of status lights on front to tell you what is happening at the moment. Can log into the unit to determine packet loss, errors and channel status.
This is a simple modem that does its job well. If you are paying Comcast, WOW!, Xfinity, or another company a monthly fee then this is the unit for you. Simple to setup. Just screw the coax into the coax connector, plug in the LAN cable for your router, and plug in the power cord. Then call your cable company and tell them you bought your own modem. They will ask you for the MAC id number on the bottom of the modem and then they will authorize it to work with their network. That's it and you are up and running.

It's super fast , easy to setup. Don't pay your internet provider a fee for the modem each month. This baby will pay for itself in 6to 8 months. Think of all the things you could do with that money. Like that it's compact and included all the needed cords.

Easy to setup, haven't had issues with speed/bandwidth. Works with my Google Nest. The Arris home page for the router is pretty straight forward.
The lights on the box are noticably brighter than my last Modem (at night), which is nice for late night walks to bathroom. Might bother some people.

I purchased this modem at the suggestion of my IP to avoid having to pay their monthly fee for internet equipment as I already have a wireless router. Very easy to install and get connected. No issues with reliability since installing and speed is fine.

Arris SurfBoard SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

This replaces my owned Arris SurfBoard SB6183 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem (16 download bonding channels and 4 upload bonding channels) which supplemented my TIME WARNER CABLE MAXX Plan of 300Mbps/20Mbps (download/upload) speeds. My Sony 4K UHD TV (XBR-65X950B), Sony Blu-Ray Player (BDP-S7200), Yamaha Aventage A/V Receiver (RX-A850BL), Sony PlayStation 4, and 4 Desktops were all having wired connections, plus wireless-connected 5 laptops.
Pros: 32 Bonding download channels and 8 upload bonding
channels that can be used even when DOCSIS 3.0
be upgraded to DOCSIS 3.1. Noticed fast
connection compared to Arris SB6183.
Cons: Time Warner Cable still uses 16 bonding download
channels and 4 bonding upload channels, plus the
fact that during peak time hours of 4:00 pm to
11:30 pm, connection crawling to 110Mbps
download and 10-14Mbps upload speeds. While
Comcast at least uses 24 bonding download
channels and 8 bonding upload channels. Also, please note that this ARRIS SURFBOARD SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem is listed as a supported cable modem by TIME WARNER CABLE.
Other than the "cons" I've indicated due to TIME WARNER CABLE inefficiencies, this Arris SurfBoard SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem has a robust connections speeds.
NOTE: While some say that "who needs 300Mbps or more ... 1Gbps speeds," however, in this new age, most of our electronic equipments, i.e., TV, A/V Receiver, Blu-Ray Player, PS4 console, X-Box console, cell phones etc. are being connected either wireless or wired to achieved their usability.

Setting up this modem was a breeze with Xfinity. One call to customer support and 10 minutes later it was up and running. We've had this modem for about 3 months and have had zero issues. It also gives us the 150MB that we pay for.

I am glad to have bought this Modem. I already have a google wifi mesh router so I did not need a modem plus wifi router box. The older modem I had still works but does not support over 300mbps. I had some issues initially but that is not due to this modem. I have tested it on wifi and when I am close to the router, I get about 334mbps. On Wired, I saw at 350mbps. Good product. note that now a days, these modems get automatic updates from the manufacturer. I have had ARRIS before and never had any issues.

I upgraded my home network to 200 mbps and decided to upgrade to this modem. This was super easy to connect and I have seen speeds on my cell (Note 4) of 230 mbps. Compact design, but does produce a little bit of heat if you are putting this into a media panel.

I recently upgraded my Xfinity internet connection to a higher speed and needed a new modem to support it.
I was able to pick this modem up in store which was awesome. Setup was easy. I called Xfinity customer service and provided the information for the new modem. They had me up and running within 15 minutes.
Speeds are incredible and I still have room for more if I decide to upgrade later on.
Performance overall is very solid.

Good Cable Modem

I had an older Motorola SB modem that was about 4 years old and having errors on all 8 channels that it had running so I decided to try this router.
All my errors went away!
Only thing I'll add is that your cable provider dictates how many channels up/down you'll actually get!
This modem is capable of 32 down and 16 up but for Time Warner, now Spectrum it won't give me any more than 24 channels down and 4 up! Spectrum for now only guarantees 16 channels down and 4 up...
Also know that though Arris will tell you the downstream power channels can be adjusted in order for your Upstream power channels to come up, but your ISP will not adjust anything for only one customer... They will only do so if multiple customers are experiencing an issue or there is something that stands out with the line or hub!
So in short, if there isn't an issue with internet connection they won't adjust anything so your settings are where they should be, which is no fault of Arris or the product but a forewarning that the ISP controls this...
I gave this a 4 star because I find it lame how your ISP can greatly handicap your network, unless you pay more for business service!
Love the fact I got this on sale, which made it a nice bonus...
