In my opinion, this modem is top-notch in performance and is future proof since it well-exceeds current requirements for Comcast (and other) gigabit service. Getting 980 to 995 mbps consistently. Capable of much higher speeds and with 32 download channels and 8 upload channels it outstrips the competition. I chose this one after extensive research of what was available. Pair it with a Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 router and you've got an unbeatable home system.

The ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 is a high-performance cable modem with DOCSIS 3.1 and 32x8 channel bonding, delivering reliable gigabit speeds for streaming, gaming, and more. Its sleek white design is compact and stylish, and it’s compatible with major providers, cutting rental costs. Setup is easy, but confirm your ISP supports DOCSIS 3.1.

Solid purchase to use with xfinity. Why rent a modem when you can buy your own and save money? This modem fit my needs for 600 mbps internet speeds. Speed tested verified and use with my ASUS AX5400. Speed tested both from router and devices and holds speeds. Took me less than a few minutes to setup and works great. Would recommend.

Up-to-Date Basic Cable Modem Solution

The decision to upgrade an existing Comcast cable TV and Internet service also required replacing the preexisting cable modem with a newer, up-to-date model that had been certified to work with Comcast's services. Since the previous cable modem had been an ARRIS model that functioned reliably for over ten years, this newer ARRIS SURFboard 32 x 8 model was selected as its replacement. This unit was relatively easy to install and interfaced smoothly with the upgraded Comcast service once the new modem had been remotely initialized by the service provider.

The modem was fairly priced and easy to install. I should have done it years ago. I chose Best Buy because they were able to recommend the right modem to purchase and hook up to my Internet service provider.

Switching back to Comcast/Xfinity, and decided I wanted my own modem rather than renting. I ordered Xfinity's "super fast" - on sale for $50 a month - "up to" 600Mbps down, 20Mbps up. It does better than that - I'm regularly getting 700.
We had Comcast a long time ago, and the cable was still there sticking out of the wall. So once I'd ordered service on the Xfinity website, I just plugged it in, and pretty soon it was up. Yes, the blue LED status light for DOCSIS 3.1 is very bright, the regular green LEDs are not a problem. I get the downlink blue, up is green.
I ended up with a lot of problems getting the Xfinity account to work - three long sessions on the phone and "chat". At one point they put a "block" on the modem and nothing worked. Their mistake. Finally it's all working. Yay!
I'm using an old Plume mesh system for the router and WiFi, and a switch for the wired things - and it works well. (Plume is grandfathered in, not subscribed.) In case it's not obvious, this is a modem, not a router. You'll need a router, and I had one.
My experience is that things like this eventually have a 1%-5% failure rate, so I got the Geek protection for it. It's only been running a week or two so far.
Because we're in an area where the utility can shut off power (or drunk drivers can hit power poles) - wild fires are a real threat in this part of California - I have the modem (and router, and NAS) on a UPS.

This was a slight upgrade from my last modem that was DOCSIS 3.0 It was easy to follow the instructions using the app, the worst thing about the setup was my ISP entering my modem information wrong multiple times (shocker). It hits gigabit speeds no problem and helped me confirm that my ISP is the issue, not the modem.

Beats comcast modem hands down

Provides me with the internet speed that I am paying for where as the modem router combo from comcast barely allowed me 50% of the 400mb/s internet package I pay for.
One item of moderate concern is that it does run a little on the toasty side. I had been keeping it in a cabinet in my office and noticed how hot it would get. I placed it out in open air ontop of the same cabinet and it seems to be at a much more acceptable temperature. I have had no service interruption even with it getting hot.

Great modem, works with Buckeye Cable

I bought this modem to use with Buckeye Cable to avoid the monthly rental fee. Buckeye will tell you that only certain modems will work with their system and claim they "don't have a list of all approved modems," but I can tell you that this one worked. It will likely require the technician to call during installation to update things on their end. It's been a good modem and has worked well for me.

This modem is a rock solid choice for business or home use. I've had exactly zero issues
I consistently have speeds that are 20-30% faster than my neighbors who are fed from the same piece of coax.
If Arris would have included a MoCA bridge in the unit, it would have been perfect (and have saved me 60), but it's not worth knocking anything off because of it.
This modem specialized in getting high speed DOCSIS bits onto your network and it does it very well.
