Customers are saying
Customers highly value the Surfboard Wi-Fi 7 Router's ease of use and straightforward setup process. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide coverage area within the home. However, some users experienced limitations with the Wi-Fi range, particularly in areas further from the router or when encountering obstacles. The router's performance may also degrade over time.

Good product - Needs improvement
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product works well. It is difficult to setup. Must use mobile phone rather than laptop or computer since the configuration process restarts the router several times and thus disconnects the wifi, crashing the setup process. Signal range is similar to linksys router AX600. Renaming devices keeps resetting itself and it's difficult to keep track of devices connected to the network Parental control works well, although it is difficult to configure.

Very fast
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed an upgrade and this delivers. Amazing speeds and pretty future proof for a while. Good coverage and love having one unit to do everything. Set up was a breeze and was able to keep everything connected by using my old wifi name and password.

Great purchase.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sleek design, Wi-Fi can handle all of my devices, from my smart TV to my printer with ease. If you're an xfinity customer, set up was a breeze, didn't even need to download the arris app to set up, everything was done through the xfinity app. For me, it was worth the price tag.

expensive performer
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its expensive. It replaced my S33 which would download just fine at 2000, but upload speed would not go past 40. I have had this for one day now. Installation was quick and simple. After the LED turned solid blue I switched to the xfinity app and completed the activation. After 7 minutes I was online. no tech support or phone calls needed. The top service I can get is 2000/200 and this modem delivers. At the time of writing, there are only a few devices that are "certified" by xfinity... this is one of them There was one hiccup .... the 10G port was not linking initially, so I used a 1GB port. After I was done I switched back to the 10G port and it started working fine. Dunno? If you have the bucks, I recommend it.

Small WIFI Range.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought it yesterday and i will return it back. i have an Spectrum Router SAX2V1S and i can connect to it in my font porch . Now this ARRIS G54 is not even showing on the WIFI list while I'm at the porch. I connected it at the same place as my Spectrum one and the WIFI range is better on my Spectrum router. My porch is like 20 ft from it and my ring cameras at the porch cant connect to it because the WIFI range, so it says 5k sq ft but it could be just for indoor not outdoor. It doesnt come with Ethernet cable or manual or nothing, just the modem and the power supply. It is fast but, for 600 dollars i will expect truly 5k range and stronger wall penetration. My Spectrum one is only 5 dollars per month and its more powerful that this ARRIS G54.

Good, but Expensive
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is overpriced. I have not succeeded yet to successfully call the support. I think their support policy has changed. The speed is a little bit faster than the previous modem, although it fluctuates during the day. I have to reboot the modem to get a better speed. After I reboot the modem twice, the speed will improve. We bought the fastest speed from our carrier. We are supposed to get >1200 Mbps, but we are not getting close to the speed that we are paying for. (We even changed the cables to Cat 8.) The main reason we bought this modem is to get a better speed. (I am not sure which end is responsible. I don’t think this is the modem’s problem) I am including this information for other potential buyers.

Arris surfboard
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is so much better/faster than my old Motorola however it was very pricey. At $600 + tax there should have the option/connection for a house landline. That's why the 4 stars.

Rough setup, great speeds.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a good combo modem router. Initial setup was absolutely dreadful. Had to do multiple factory resets, call customer support, and talk to Cox 3 different times before everything was up and running. Do NOT try to use the mobile app, it is completely useless. Just use a computer connected via ethernet and do all the setup via the web interface, don't even bother installing in the app on your phone.

Ended up returning
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hopes for this modem/router. Right out of the box the router didn't work. After several calls to ARRIS customer support (which was extremely difficult to understand being they were in a different country). After a lot of troubleshooting we were able to get it to work and connect to the internet. However the options within the modem never worked. I wasn't able to set firewall settings or set up a device approved list. The ARRIS app is awful and never worked. Aside from that when it worked, it worked well. The wifi speeds were 800 mbps down. After about 30 days the ethernet and wifi speeds both dropped off to 4 mbps. No matter how many factory resets I did the problem would not be resolved. I ended up returning it as it looked to be a hardware issue. Not worth the price. I'm going back to Netgear products

Super Fast!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1.2gbs xfinity plan, 500sqft apartment. Download speeds of 1.2gbs over wifi, Fortnite 50gb game was downloaded under 8min...... Worth the current price tag of $600 thats everyones own personal judgment.

Unit seems good. Disappointed with Best Buy sales
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit is still new to me, to early to rate it's performance. Seems like it is working good though. Very disappointed with the sales person at Best Buy. His info was very misleading. He just wanted to make the sale
