Arrow is about billionaire Oliver Queen (Amell) becoming a Batman-like vigilante known as "The Hood" to save his corrupt city after being stranded on an island for five years. Amell is perfect for the role as he has the charisma & athleticism to be the playboy womanizing Queen & then The Hood. The rest of the cast, except for Katie Cassidy, is solid with David Ramsey as Queen's bodyguard Diggle & Susanna Thompson as Oliver's mom who has some dark secrets. For a CW show, the fight scenes & action are well choreographed & intense. There are also several cameos of other DC Comics' heroes & villains throughout the season. The Undertaking plot was always interesting & had a surprising payoff in the finale. The DVD extras have a couple behind the scenes features that are decent. I'm just disappointed there wasn't one commentary on any of the 23 episodes. This is one of my favorite superhero/vigilante TV shows. I already like it more than Smallville.

I've never seen the show before, but for $15 a season I figured I couldn't go wrong. And I was right. I enjoyed the first season very much. The disks looks very good, and sounded great. I would've liked to seen more behind-the-scenes type features but all in all very well done. One complaint I do have about the disks, and I do believe it is the disks fault, and that is, it never remembers where I was if I leave an episode in the middle. If it weren't for that, I'd of given this five stars. And one more thing, while loading any one of the disks, it would seem to lock up whatever it felt like, on the load. I would then have to unplug the player to get it to unlock. And I've check for updates for the LG player and it says it's up-to-date.

I have only watched one disc so far, but the Blu Ray plays well in my 4 year old Samsung. While the plot can be somewhat predictable the action scenes are well done and the series holds your attention. The Arrow doesn't take itself too seriously but yet is still engrossing. The acting isn't too bad and the actresses are easy on the eyes. My only beef with the series is the "ya right" factor. For instance the Arrows nemesis, the policeman (Quentin Lance) is after him, but also hates Oliver Queen (his alter ego) because he blames Oliver for the death of his daughter. That's pretty convenient I would say. All in all the episode pass quickly and leave you wanting another.

Oliver Queen returns to his troubled city after being gone for five years, marooned on a mysterious island, but the man he's become is very different from the philandering playboy who was lost at sea. He now wages war on crime as 'The Vigilant', guided by a notebook kept by his father indicating the criminals who've been profiting off the pain of his city, but he soon finds himself at odds with both his family and the police due to the double life he's leading. Having never followed the comic source material, I have no issues with this incarnation of the character, and I've really enjoyed the way the series has shaped up.

I was unfamiliar with the Green Arrow comic book series, so I found this to be an fresh and intriguing tale of vigilante justice. The characters are interesting enough and the plot has enough points of interest to drive the story, but the real reason to watch this is the outstanding performance of newcomer Oliver Queen who manages to handle the action and complexity of the character with ease. A solid feather in the DC comics cap. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys this sort of fare.

Green Arrow was not one of my favorite comics growing up, but I'm a sucker for superhero movies and tv shows. I thought I would give Arrow a try, not expecting a lot.. Boy was I wrong! Good plots, decent acting, and better special effects than I was expecting, plus a lot of action make this a good show for an hour of entertaainment. I like the kind of dark vibe to the show, similiar to the Dark Knight trilogy. I would highly recommend this show even if you are not a comic fan.

Honestly, I bought this on a whim. I felt that I should give it a chance, and it's a fine show. I'm not in love with it, but I do enjoy it more than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. That show just missed the mark in every way. This is just kind of fun. I'm curious to check out season two, so I think that says something. On the bonus feature side of things, it's fine. It's mostly behind the scenes features, but they work. The one on the stunts is entertaining. The gag reel, however, is not even remotely funny. It's kind of a shame. All in all, the show is worth checking out.

This series only gets better as it goes on. The first season starts out kind of slow, and the voice-overs done by Oliver/Green Arrow are kind of annoying, but mid way through the first season, the series really starts to find it's footing and also looses the voice overs. This series is probably one of the CWs darker series, and is often compared to the Dark Knight trilogy...so if you like that tone, then this is the show for you. While the series can get kind of "soapy" at times, it is not your typical CW show.

Arrow tells the story of a classic comic book hero reimagined, the Green Arrow in a modern, urban setting. For fans of the original DC comic, I'd suggest discarding your preconceptions and view this series as a stand-alone take a contemporary man might cast himself as a force for good in a corrupt big-city environment.

Purchased this series as a "rainy day Sunday" impulse and am now an avid DVR fan. Not bad at all for a DC release. Solild storylines and very good acting. Not very over the top and, thus far, no one hanging from wires or displaying extranormal powers, although I just KNOW that it's waiting in the wings. Worth a view.

This was a show that took me a while to warm up to it, but after giving it a chance and couple episodes later, I found myself being a fan of this show. The second season is definitely better but if you want to give this show a chance, then I would recommend you watch the first season first and then you can make your final judgement

I knew this series was on TV a while back but never was able to watch it. When I had the chance to but this whole 1st season, I thought I'd give it a few episodes to see what it was all about. This show does a great job of getting you hooked immediately and next thing I know I had cruised through all 5 discs in under a week.

I love bestbuy as well as arrow but I was extremely disappointed when I bought the bluray box set to find out that it did not include a vudu movie code. I'm always on the run and when I'm around I try and squeeze an episode in through my vudu account and now sadly I can't do that with arrow season 1

If you enjoy the character of Green Arrow or even Batman you'll like this show. It has enough action and drama to keep you watching every episode. The only downside really is that some characters aren't written greatly but overall it's a great show.

I was not an Arrow fan before, have heard good things about it but never saw the show on TV. But after I purchase the Blu-ray set and watch it with family, I became an instant fan. Good story, nice Video and good HD transfer. This is a show to keep.

I found this series to be quite well put together and extremely captivating. The way they slowly reveal Oliver's backstory and the the creation of the Arrow was wonderfully done with a nice build-up to the finally. Well worth watching.

After SMALLVILLE the appearance of ARROW had a lot to look up to. But good character development and awesome action sequences made a fan of me. It gets even better in the second season.

Fun show with lots of fast paced action scenes. Love that the character development is spread out throughout the entire season showing the depth of the characters just as they appear in the comic books that inspired this show.

It's an unfair comparison, but I had expected the show to be more like the old Green Arrow comics, and of course it's not. It is still a great and enjoyable series and I will continue to follow the show on television..

OLIVER has been spent five years in the island. What is main point ?. CHECK OUT - What happened to him and Why , How change his mind, ability for the Green Arrow.... I can not wait for next second season.
