Not The Best, But Still Real Good

    Posted .

In my opinion this third season of Arrow wasn't the best. I didn't quite like where it was going and I spent a lot of the time saying to myself(the TV) "What the heck? What are you doing? You can't be going this direction! This would be dumb!" That being said, it doesn't mean that it was anything less than the Arrow quality we've come to expect. Still had great acting, writing, lighting, action, the works. I mean, I still went and bought it didn't I? LOL. Look, I'm not really going to waste too much more time on reviewing this show after 2 seasons. If you're not already into it by now you're probably not going to be reading a review of Season 3. So on to the other aspects of this set. The packaging and artwork are right on par with the previous offerings. Which is GREAT! Now I'm not super OCD about my collections. But still, it's nice to look at my shelf and see all my Samurai Jack, Dark Angel, Metalocalypse, etc. etc. all looking similar. It's rather annoying to see Big Bang Theory change the spine after 2 seasons. Or Simpsons making you get a case shaped like someone's head(which has been rectified in reissues, but still at the time of first release there was only one option). Anyhow, it's cool to see consistency on my shelf. The set also comes with similar Special Features: couple of behind the scenes, commentaries, ComicCon stuff, gag reel, and some unaired scenes. Again, all right inline with previous releases and expectations. The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars was because as I said earlier, not my favorite season story wise. Hey, they can't all be Zingers!

I would give this six stars!

Actually, I would give this six stars. Does it knock my socks off, every time? no, nor do I expect something to, but it's most always true to "comic book gone film." It's like reading a comic book, only better, as you see the live actors. I give it the extra star because I have such a good time watching it. It's a show I can discuss with my grandchildren. So this is not like a serious film review, but I am an artist, and do take it seriously, too. It's good clean fun, interesting, just soapy enough, with moral questions to ponder, with surprises, twists and turns. I'm so glad I found this show, worth every penny for my viewing entertainment. It's solid in that it's interesting, well done and the acting is great. The choice of costume, and casting, too. Very wonderful. My favorite type of show.

    Love the show!

I love the show. I have been following the show since the first season currently watching the fourth season, and I am looking forward to a fifth if they decide to continue with the show, which I hope they do. Emily is my favorite character in the show. She is funny, though she is a bit more serious in the season, I still love her character. Laurel is actually beginning to grow on me, I didn't particularly like her in the first season, but once she became the black Canary she has quickly become one of my favorites. With each season, the shows stunts and graphics seem to be getting a lot better. When the ATOM was introduced I was expecting some cheesy or very corny graphics. I was pleasantly surprised when they weren't.

    Another fun season!

Here we are with the third season of The Arrow. After I was done with the second season I was really looking forward to the third season. And I wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed it very much, and the new direction that the story took. We got to meet some new characters, and they were very interesting. We also had some crossover episodes with The Flash, which was very nice to see. I actually started watching The Flash before I started watching The Arrow, so it was very good to see how it started. The discs themselves again look beautiful, and sounded wonderful. But I'm here to report that the same problem I had with the other disks happen with the set too. (Please see other reviews). And this is why I only gave it four stars. Either way, I think if you've seen the show you'll love this set. If you've never seen the show I would start with season one and work your way forward, because I think you'll enjoy them, if this is your type of genre. It is mine, and I am looking forward to season four!

    This show keeps getting better

When I was a kid, I loved comic books. Sure, if pressed I would almost always go with Marvel over DC, but I still liked the wide range of Characters that DC had. Now, as an adult (sort of) I am thrilled beyond belief to see comic book heroes I loved come to life on the small screen. This show is just so well done...it keeps getting better with each season. I really enjoy how we find out little by little about the origins of Arrow in flashbacks to his time on the island and other places. The acting is good, the stories are good...I plan to keep buying them until I have them all.

    This is a GREAT series

There is not much to say except the writers of the Arrow apeal to everyone young and older. The language is approprate for everyone but the violance is not I would not let young children watch this series. Each season hangs on the last and the characters are very relateable to the story line but also to everyday things that people actually do, with some fantasy, well most of them do anyway...... Its aslo really great how the writers intertwine the Flash with this series....

In the aftermath of his victory, Season Three opens with The Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

I love watching this show on Blu-ray!

This show looks amazing on Blu-ray! I had watched the first 2 seasons of this show on Netflix in HD multiple times before I purchased the first 3 seasons on Blu-ray, but I still feel like Blu-ray was a noticeable improvement over Netflix. Besides, now if the show is ever removed from Netflix I will still own the seasons on BD. I also love watching the deleted scenes and other extras that aren't available through Netflix, which is just another reason to pick up the Blu-rays!

One of the better seasons, introduces Flash

    |
    Posted .

Arrow, I guess the flagship superhero series on CW now, is dark, gloomy, and often irritating. Season 3 is one of my favorites because it introduces Barry Allen and leads into the The Flash. I like the flashback arc in this series mainly because of Rile Fukushima stars is in them. She plays Yukio in The Wolverine so I was happy to see her show up on The Arrow. Her character is also later to be revealed as Katana. Katana is in the Suicide Squad. Sadly, the role is played by someone else in the movie, like the rest of the movies but that's another review. So these are my reasons I like season three enough to buy it, and it had low sale price.

The best Batman show on television

    |
    Posted .

I hate the Green Arrow character in the comics and animated series. He's a liberal hippie douchebag who rallies against the 1% while being the 1% and is easily the most punchable jerk in the DC Universe. The Hood/The Arrow/Oliver Queen in this TV show, however, is absolutely nothing like his comic book counterpart: he's actually likable. He's also basically Batman, but younger, less wise, and with a bow.

Great series - great season - low price & Blu-Ray

The Arrow continues to be an amazing series - lots of unexpected twists and turns through the three seasons and is cool as sometimes this show or The Flash feature each other as super heroes working together. The price Best Buy had on these Blu-Ray discs was amazing - could not pass it up - as also bought season one and season two from Best Buy also on Blu-ray at phenomenal prices.

    Darkly Entertaining

    |
    Posted .

Darkly enjoyable with humor and drama nicely mixed with great special effects. Good acting from all main characters especially from Emily Bett Rickards and Stephen Amell. The flashbacks parallels with happening in the present giving you 2 shows in one and helping tie what happened in the past with what Oliver had to endure and do to survive and made him become who he is in the present.

    I've heard good things...

I purchased this because Best Buy was willing to price-match Amazon, which was dirt cheap! $12 for the Blu-Ray (the DVD was like, $30, what the heck?). Haven't had a chance to watch this season yet, but I've been told it's the best season of all. BUT, apparently there's a little too much Flash and that might not be a good thing. Still, a solid show and I'm looking forward to it.

    Arrow Season 3

    |
    Posted .

One of the most consistently improving shows on TV, and the cornerstone for DC comics characters on TV. This is the show that has introduced us to an edgier Oliver Queen and given rise to the Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Season 3 does not disappoint as we see Oliver reach a crucial turning point in his path from vigilante to hero.

My daughters are Really Big Fans of Arrow and this third season is excellent. Many twists and turns along with some surprises. I think the crossover episodes with "The Flash" are their favorites. We have even watched some of the deleted scenes and bloopers. This franchise is very entertaining.
