This game is for those Assassins Creed fans that wanted an evolution in combat, storytelling, and a mixup in your everyday 'assassins creed' activities. This is a continuation of the direction Syndicate put us in with a new emphasis on Witcher 3/Dark Souls style of combat. This game is NOT for those who want a return to assassins creed 1 and 2 and want an emphasis on stealth mechanics. It's a great game, but it's not an AC/AC2 stealth based game.

Yes, but not in the way you might expect. Origins innovates the most since the series' second entry, which was lauded for how well it improved upon the original. Origins does the same, but with the series as a whole. No more endless waves of enemies wading to the slaughter as you effortlessly parry and counter in a flurry of gruesome finishers. Combat is now more action RPG-esque with finishers peppered throughout to add some flair. This makes combat more challenging and dynamic since you have to actively defend and engage enemies in lieu of waiting for them to get caught in your buzzsaw. But the memorable assassination missions and unique nuances that typically coincided with each meaningful kill are also gone. In some instances, I couldn't tell the differance between an assassination target and a standard enemy. In fact, memorable characters and well-voiced cutscenes are pretty much absent altogether, with the exception of some scenes between Bayek and his wife, Aya. But less time spent planning assassinations and engaging in banter/dialogue with NPCs helps streamline the experience and allows more freedom to explore the games many well-crafted side quests/activities. Origins is absolutely the series' most open-world experience to date, and I haven't been this engrossed in an AC game world since 2 as well. Ancient Egypt begs to be explored by mezmerizing players with its diverse and colorful landscape. Origins is a departure from some of the conventions that many identify with the series, but overall I think that might be for the better.

Great graphics! Amazing story line! Gameplay is great as they continue to stay true to prior editions.

Assassin's Creed has always been one of my favorite series and Origins isn't just a breath of fresh air it's almost an entirely new game. It's more of what made AC great but with many improvements. Although there are some complaints anyone who enjoyed Assassin's Creed is likely to enjoy this one too. It's not perfect, nothing ever is, but it shines as an example of what can happen when a series gets new ideas it desperately needed.

Best Assassin's Creed yet...cool open world and never ending hours of gameplay. Fun storyline too.

AC has always been a great open world game with tons of stuff to do, now it adds amazing new combat to the mix. The setting of ancient Egypt is also perfect of this type of game, so much to do and so much history. Highly recommended for AC fans and open world fans alike.

I love this video game, this is my first Assassin Creed game but the graphics are incredible, all are animated and each thing has live, beautiful worlds and very well recreated in Egypt, the sound is incredible and music transport us to Ancient Egypt. The best of the best. The combats are very interesting and exciting. There are a lot of missions. The narrative is perfect. Excellent product. I do recommend this product.

Stunning visuals, great story. Fun combat. I'm subtracting one star for the terrible block mechanic. Almost unusable, but if you dodge instead, the impact is null.

Love the new feel of the game, fluid motion, awesome fighting and love the Egyptian setting.

Game is gorgeous, mechanics are great and not too glitchy. Definitely better than Unity!

While I have played previous Assassin Creed games, I have enjoyed them but it is not my favorite franchise. However, I read reviews that this game has been changed a little from the previous AC and I have to say the improvements easily make this the best of the franchise. I really enjoyed the RPG aspect and the combat is funner than any of the others. It has a dark souls feel to the combat, which i really enjoyed. The graphics are amazing. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is that some of the missions seem repetitive but the overall game is a must buy for PS4.
