The combat system starts off simple, but quickly turns into something more complex. Many legions to use at your disposal with different abilities. Feels heavy and refined, power behind those strikes. When out of combat, exploration is a bit simple, but an enjoyable change of pace. Graphics straight out of an 80's anime, with clean lines and vibrant colors.

Platinum Games latest entry is unique and unlike their games before but its still got that platinum coolness and amazing bayonetta like combat. Astral Chain also boasts what could be the best visuals on the Switch system both in handheld and docked. The style just looks amazing in motion and really demonstrates how cool a game can look when its built around for the switch.

It's a good game with a good story. My only problem is getting use to the controls, but once you get use to them it's smooth sailing from there.

This game came out of know where and i am so glad i bought this day one! Astral Chain has a great story and plays amazing, this is a must buy for any Nintendo switch owners!

A combination of investigative and combat scenarios that feature the use of up to five unique legions each with their own special abilities. The legions also serve explorational purposes as well getting you into previously inaccessible areas. This leads to the need to repeat missions when each becomes accessible. Which while improving replay value you may find annoying if you are playing purely to advance the story. Especially as some of the non combat sequences can suffer from pacing issues. All in all, the game is still enjoyable though some of the smaller mechanics feel like they work against themselves.

Another showstopper by Platinum Games, they never disappoint when it comes to their titles. Cant wait for Bayonetta 3!

Controls are smooth, story is fantastic, overall a great experience

This game is amazing! Very colorful, lots of action and many gameplay elements to keep you busy for hours! The mechanics of controlling your legion do take a moment to get used to but once you do, there’s no stopping the fun! I find myself playing for hours on end and wanting to play more! Well worth the $60! This is a must have for any switch owner!

Released the same time as the also excellent Control, Nintendo's trip to the Astral Plane is a hoot. The gorgeous cyberpunk anime world is stunning and while the characters aren't exactly memorable (why does the player character never speak?), the fast-paced combat, level design, and hilariously bizarre touches make this a must-have for action fans.

Platinum at its best. Fun Combat, nice graphics and fun story.

Played once couple of times. The graphic is great for Switch. But the learning curve of this game is terrible. Not recommend for new player.

the game had great action and graphics. But control was a bit awkward. But there is doubt it was a fun one. If you like DMC series, you should try this game.

Platinum games bring hack and slash to the switch with an impressive game though not openworld still great fun to be had with familiar combat and tight controls

this game deserved all the praised it had gotten im currently in 3-4 hours and its amazing from its story, gameplay, characters, and world. A absolute must play

After having played both Bayonetta games, taking a shot at Platinum's new Switch exclusive game seemed like a no-brainer. Astral Chain is easily one of the best games on the Switch, and one of my favorites. The combat and mechanics take a little practice to nail down, but once you do, it's really fun to play.
