Quite simply one of the greatest games currently available for the Nintendo Switch, next to Breath of the Wild. Smooth gameplay, excellent design, fun story.

It's from the people who brought you Bayonetta. A futuristic devil combat action game with some detective stuff like in the Arkham games. Cool art style too.

From the second you start the game it presents you with top notch game play and graphics for the Nintendo Switch. This game is only available for the Nintendo Switch. It is made by the people at Platinum games. They have also made Bayonetta 1 and 2 for Switch, and Nier: Automata for the Playstation 4. And soon Bayonetta 3 will be out for the Switch. Platinum games is known for quality action games no matter what gaming system they develope for. And Astral Chain is no exception. If you have tried any of the the other games by Platinum you will probably like this one too.

I really hope this game continues to get more entries. Characters are great, story is engaging and the combat is action packed.

Platinum Games is hands-down one of the best action games developers out there. Astral Chain sits up there just a hair below their best titles. The core systems are excellent, but how they come together brings it down a notch. The combat is fun, as is the detective work, but the game follows a formulaic approach switching between the two, and it paces itself poorly (going from high action to long periods of walking around talking to people). The gameplay is still fun, but it starts to get old after a while. Also, the game disappointingly starts off with an amazing entry where you have the opportunity to control a motorcycle during a brief intro. While this part of the game was simple, the tone of the scene was hands down one of the best in gaming in 2019. Unfortunately sequences like that were few. I wish that same tone and energy continued throughout the entire game. Either way it's an excellent title, but it does need some work in a sequel.

Super dope action fro platinum games. They always kill it with their style and stories and this one isn’t any different

The game has a decent storyline and rather fun gameplay. I would have given it a 5 star but there is some lag in some areas due to the switch not being able to hand the rapid changes in scenery. Nintendo stated this would be patched so when it is it will be worthy of a 5 star.

Awesome animation and graphics for the Switch. Story is decent. It would have been nice, if the main character you play has more vocal dialogue.

Picked this up on release date. Instantly fell in love with the game play and art style. The soundtrack really helps elevate the game as well.

Pretty great overall. Great cast minus the controllable player character. Music is on point and story is good. Would have made more of an impact without a silent protagonist I think. Plenty of content and some reasons to replay on harder difficulties. Well worth the purchase!

I love the graphics! This game has a great storyline! Only issue is there is no new game plus... Not worth knocking a point down though.

Astral Chain is a unique game to put it simply. Interesting story and characters, fun and varied combat options, and overall just a great start for a new franchise. There are a few pacing issues, but nothing overly noticeable. The positive outweighs the negative.

This is one of the most entertaining video games out there in a long time. Great visuals, especially considering that is for Nintendo Switch. It has a Manga type of style, but the part that will make you love this game is the fighting gameplay. It is thrilling and new because you have to consider to do things for your character and your “Legion”, which is a type of robot that goes with your system. The only thing that is a little poor is the storyline and the dialogues, but that is almost normal in most Japanese video games.
