Lots of fun and semi challenging obstacles for kids to solve in all the levels. Plenty to do and explore.

this game is very well designed and has a lot of replay ability. There is enough challenge to keep an adult interested and at the same time simple enough for a child to play. It truly feels like a Mario game for ps5 which is welcomed. We need more games like this.

Astro Bot is a delightful and nostalgic platforming experience that masterfully blends classic gameplay elements with modern innovations. It channels the magic of old-school Mario games while bringing its own fresh ideas, creating an adventure that feels both familiar and excitingly new.
Gameplay – A Perfect Blend of Classic and Modern
Astro Bot captures the essence of traditional 3D platformers, evoking memories of titles like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. The level design is imaginative and varied, offering a mix of precision platforming, exploration, and clever mechanics that keep players engaged. Each stage introduces new ideas whether it’s unique environmental challenges, hidden collectibles, or interactive elements that make full use of the PlayStation hardware.
One of the biggest strengths of Astro Bot is its responsive and fluid controls. The character moves with precision, making jumps and platforming segments feel incredibly satisfying. It’s the kind of game that rewards skill, much like Mario’s classic outings, where movement mechanics are tightly refined, and every jump feels deliberate.
Nostalgia Done Right
Astro Bot is dripping with nostalgia, not just in its gameplay mechanics but also in its world design, music, and charming nods to gaming history. The way it borrows from Mario’s blueprint collecting items, rescuing allies, and facing creative bosses feels like a loving tribute rather than a mere imitation. If you grew up playing classic 3D platformers, this game will take you back to the golden era of gaming, where discovery and fun were at the heart of every level.
Even small details, like sound effects and character animations, evoke that sense of wonder found in older platformers. The joy of uncovering hidden secrets, the thrill of jumping between moving platforms, and the challenge of timing your jumps perfectly all bring back the magic that Mario games mastered decades ago.
Presentation – A Visual and Auditory Treat
Visually, Astro Bot is stunning. The bright, colorful environments are packed with detail, and each level feels distinct, with creative themes that keep things fresh. The character animations are full of personality, making Astro Bot feel alive and expressive in a way that’s reminiscent of classic Nintendo characters.
The soundtrack is another highlight. The upbeat and whimsical music reinforces the game’s lighthearted tone, much like the catchy tunes in Mario titles. Every piece of music enhances the experience, creating an immersive world that feels cheerful and adventurous.
Conclusion – A Must-Play for Platformer Fans
Astro Bot is more than just a fun game it’s a heartfelt tribute to the golden age of platformers while standing tall as a fantastic experience on its own. With tight controls, engaging level design, and a nostalgic charm that echoes classic Mario games, it’s a must-play for anyone who loves the genre. It proves that great platformers aren’t just about nostalgia; they’re about creating magical moments, and Astro Bot delivers them in abundance.

Amazing platformer! The best money I've spent on a game in recent memory. If you're a Nintendo fan and happen to own a Playstation 5 you have got to try this game out.

The most joyful game I’ve played in years. Ultra polished from top to bottom. Especially for Sony fans, tons of fan service. Difficulty is just right with some optional stuff that’s a little tougher. Overall, I loved my time with Astro Bot and looking forward to see what’s next!

I generally am more of a JRPG gamer than a player of platformers. I do play other genres, too, but I figure I should preface with that.
Astro Bot amazed me with how fun it can be. And it has tons of nostalgia for people who have played a lot of games on Playstation over the years (in particular I loved seeing the bots based on Symphony of the Night and Ratchet and Clank)
It’s fun that can be appreciated by all ages and experience levels, but not without some challenging optional levels to test more experienced gamers!

Overall pretty much Astro Playroom 2.0. While a fun game it's pretty much just what Astro's Playroom was which was a commercial game to promote what the PS5 controller with its haptic feedback could do. The gameplay is fun and the additional added bots with their various game avatar skins is a nice touch. Is the game worth $60? Not really as overall it just feels like and extended addition to the Astro Playroom game with some added bonus content. Wait until Black Friday when the game goes on sale if you can get it for $40 great or maybe even $50 but $60 just seems a little steep for a game that just amounted to a physical DLC add-on content.

There is a reason this game won Game of the Year. Graphically, this is the BEST game I’ve ever seen and it’s not even close. What Team Asobi have done here celebrates gaming as a whole, PlayStation as a platform, and rewards exploration to a point where every playthrough becomes a scavenger hunt, and I LOVE that! One of the best games - period. If you love collect-athon games reminiscent of PS1 and PS2, you need to get this game.

The absolutely best platformer I have played until now. Heavily inspired by an Italian plumber, this game is pure unadulterated joy. It's inventive, creative, and fun. It also has a lot of challenge levels that will make you question your sanity. Lastly, the game is a love letter to the PlayStation history that many older gamers like myself will appreciate.

One of the best games I've ever played. I've been at game playing for awhile, but this game takes the cake. Not only is game play super smooth, but the story is really cute and suitable for my daughter and I to really enjoy gaming together. Be ready for some frustration, laughs, challenges, and a super interactive fun environment. I would recommend this game to any one.

My son absolutely loved Astro Bot. He’s five and finished the entire game with my help. It’s a great game for kids and some of the levels are pretty intense and difficult which is great for the hardcore platformer.

Both my son and I love playing this game. Such a fun game with all the different levels. Nice break from other games like call of duty. Great controls.

A well built game designed around the capabilities of the Dualsense controller. Builds upon the premise of Astro’s Playroom. Poster and codes were included in the box. Highly recommended!

I got Astro Bot for my 6 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it! The characters are adorable, the controls are easy for her to pick up, and the gameplay is fun without being frustrating. It’s colorful, creative, and keeps her engaged for a long time. It’s also fun to watch her play great family friendly game that’s worth every penny
