Astro Gaming A10 headphones are a pair of solid for PC/XSX/PS5/XB/PS4. Every feature is useful to gaming letting you get right into it without a problem; Plugging them into the control of a PS4 was as simple as that. If you are not a fan of wireless headphones these A10's are perfect for corded. The aux cord that comes with the device is extremely long giving much lengthy space only headphones work well and the design is good. The box gives clear instructions on how to use the A10's on the desired platform.
The headphones are lightweight and feel durable meaning they really creak or crack within the molding. They have adjustable earcups to fit on bigger heads so that is not an issue. Astro A10's are light on the head and even tossing them from side to side is effortless but the point is they shouldn't feel too heavy hours into gaming sessions. The design is nice and doesn't get in the way with its black and neon yellow cording it looks really good. on the Aux cord that comes with it is a volume rocker so you can instantly turn down the vol. They do sit kinda big on top of the head so they stand out in that regard. The mic grabs voice from myself to my teammates clear so that works out well.
A10's sound was great from the receiving end as I can hear people chatting within matches very clearly. I could also hear the surrounding gunshots in gaming matches. Music came through loud on the headphones so it does leak some sound. None of the sounds was distorted but I will say the sound was "sharp" with lack of bass; I have yet to setup sound profiles on my PC for a better experience. I think if you just need some headphones for gaming on PC and Xbox these are great pick up and play headphones without all the hassle. No software to deal with and no logins to update headphones...They just work as intended.
Overall, I like them and they do gaming justice. can't really go wrong with the Astro A10 at all.

I Was Constantly Surprised By The Quality

BUILD QUALITY/AESTHETICS/COMFORT:
It has an over-the-ear design with soft memory foam earpads with a breathable material. The squish to firmness ratio is good making them extremely comfortable IF they fit. Which is one of the biggest cons. As these house 32 mm drivers (compared to the usual 40 - 50 mm) making the earcups kid. I found they just barely fit medium sized ears, may fit large ears with rubbing, and will become an on-ear headset for those with extra-large ears. (Actual numbers for this headset are 1.5 inch width w/ 1.75 inch height compared to at least 1.5 inch width w/ 2 inch height or more on the other headsets I own) Clamping force is just right by being snug-loose. Due to the ear cup material and closed back design they can get warm after prolonged usage for you ear sweaters out there. The headband pad is made from the same material as the earcups with a large surface area making it so I didn’t experience any discomfort or pain on the top of my head. Both the earpad cushions and headband pad can be replaced when they wear down. The headband is adjustable with movement being smooth throughout. There are notches on the side for those perfectionists out there. They go from baby sized (seriously it’s tiny) to large but not extra-large having about an inch difference between both extremes. These things are also incredibly durable where you can twist the headband all over the place and be just fine. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t treat your products poorly. The weight is on the lighter side of average at 246 grams.
The removeable cable is excellent. As it is the right length at 2 meters, the rubber is soft and feels high quality, and it is extremely malleable. The inline volume control wheel doesn’t wobble, is moderately stiff to ensure it stays in place and is very smooth with a defined maximum and minimum. But there is no MUTE button on it like some of their headsets as that is done by flipping the microphone up. More on that later.
SOUND QUALITY:
Sound quality is very subjective. These come with 32 mm neodymium drivers and for the PRICE these are fantastic, and I strongly believe that most will enjoy them. I break sound into four tiers Single Player Gaming, Multiplayer Gaming, Media, and Music. This headset does a great job at Single Player Gaming, Media, and Music and a good/solid job at Multiplayer gaming. I found it to be relatively balanced but with a fun tuning meaning everything is relatively the same volume but instead of being flat it has some color to it. Making it so highs come across a clear without being sharp, mids are full, and bass booms while being slightly bloated without being overbearing. Sound stage is small. Imaging is good where I can easily tell different parts of sound apart. Directional audio is adequate. Where I can tell general locations but not exact location. But it seems like there is a limiter/compressor on it where the very tops and very bottoms of everything seem to be cut off preventing me from fully experiencing the sound to the fullest. I also found that the volume in my left earcup is ever so slightly louder than my right despite the cables being fully plugged in. Which can affect directional audio accuracy and maybe even limit the top and bottom end. This also means that Astro’s QA continues to be poor. As at this point, I’ve tried three headsets from them and all three of them have had some type of defect. Which is disappointing.
For media/single player gaming I really enjoyed it as I was able to get lost in the world. They are closed back over open back meaning that you can’t hear much sound in the room you’re in while also limiting overall soundstage. This allows you to really hyper focus on what you are watching as the real-world kind of disappears around you, which is what I prefer. You can easily hear people talk and the nuances/emotion in their speech. Along with picking apart different sounds going on at the same time in the background of movies/games. While having nice bass and treble response for reloads, explosions, gunshots, cars, etc…
What makes it not as good for multiplayer gaming is that footsteps are hard to hear. Directional quality just lets me know general location. So, I know someone is coming from my right, but not how far, close, or exact location. With the soundstage being small I can only hear things going on relatively close to me. I do think that with my left earcup being louder than my right that this will affect overall locational accuracy and could be better if that were equal in both. I am unsure if this is a defect or not. But all the parts that make it good for media and single player gaming still holds giving you an advantage over others.
MICROPHONE QUALITY:
It comes with a 6 mm non-removeable uni-directional microphone that supports flip to mute. I find that the microphone is very flexible making it easy to get in the ideal position. While also being very smooth and having a dedicated click that you can feel once you go past the threshold to mute it. When this happens, you don’t really hear anything but your teammates/stream will be able to hear it. But it’s very mild and not something you’d need to worry about. Microphones are also Astro’s kryptonite as the flip to mute tends to break and their microphones like to go MIA by not being registered as being there even though you can clearly see it is still attached to the headset. I think most of this comes down to user error. As I had to bring up Realtek Audio Console and make sure it was being seen as a headset despite it being plugged in for it to actually play sound through the headset and register the mic as being plugged in. As for the sound? I think it sounds great. Seriously I was genuinely surprised yet again at the quality. I found that my voice was very accurate with good lows, mids, and highs (good overall body) and I was very clear. It was also able to get plenty loud.
CONCLUSION:
This is a very easy recommendation. It does everything above average and I was constantly surprised at how good it was. Due to that I’m giving it 5 stars. However, it does have some glaring negatives such as the small earcups, small headband adjustment, and continued QA issues. You’ll also want to make sure the 3.5 mm cord is plugged completely into the headset as there were several times that I thought it was fully plugged in when it wasn’t. It got to the point I would physically look when I plugged in it to make sure it was flush. But other than that I really can't think of any negatives.

Excellent Lightweight Gaming Headset

Every major gaming accessory brand has its own line of expensive headsets with RGB and other flashy features. But what about gamers looking for a decent headset at a great price? You shouldn't have to sacrifice build quality or sound quality by purchasing some cheap knock-off model. That's where the Astro A10 Gen 2 comes in. It is lightweight, comfortable, and has surprisingly good audio quality given its affordable price.
PROS:
- The Astro A10 is made almost entirely of plastic, but don't let that fool you. The headset feels quite sturdy, and the headband and earcups are very well padded. The ear cushions and headband pad are replaceable if they ever wear out.
- The A10 is very comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. They are so lightweight that I barely notice them, and there is almost no pressure on my head from the headband or earcups.
- The microphone is attached to the left earcup and is very easy to flip up or down as needed. The microphone mutes itself as soon as you flip it up. Microphone quality is pretty good and doesn't seem to pick up any background noise. It's perfect for chatting in games, Discord, Twitch, etc.
- The cord is roughly 6 feet long and has an integrated volume dial that rests near your shoulder. Be sure to double-check which end of the cable you plug into the headset and which end you plug into your controller/console. One of the connectors is slightly longer than the other -- the longer one goes into the headset on the left earcup.
- Audio quality is very good, with strong low-frequency performance and very crisp vocals and mids. I enabled Dolby Atmos using the Dolby Access app on my PC and the surround effect in games is very convincing.
CONS:
- The openings on the earcups are pretty small, you if you have large ears, the Astro A10 might not be the best choice.
- The headband slides up and down so you can adjust the fit and amount of pressure on your head, but there aren't many levels of adjustment.
- The microphone cannot be removed. Not a big deal, but if you're like me and have no use for the microphone, you'll just have to leave it flipped in the "up" position.
OVERALL:
There's not much to complain about with the Astro A10. It is an excellent gaming headset for its price with strong audio performance and superior comfort. These will absolutely suit the needs of most casual gamers. Those who want integrated RGB or other flashy features should obviously look elsewhere. But I fully expect the A10 to last a very long time and handle most of my gaming needs.

This is the second Astro Gaming Headset I have owned in the last few years and it surprised me how good it is. These are light weight but what I liked most of all is that the headband is flexible. The last Corsair headset I gave my daughter snapped in the middle and they were practically useless. This pair will flex and adjusts easily for hours of play without discomfort.
Below is my Pro/Con
Pros
-Clear audio with crisp highs and surprising decent bass
-Clearly heard players around me while gaming on my XBOX
-Light weight
-Comfortable for long gaming sessions
-Long stereo cable
-Flexible head strap
-Pretty sweet looking and more on the minimalist side
Cons
-Ear cups were a bit small for me since I have larger ears so took more adjusting to feel best
-Long stereo cable could be a con for some people
-Not flashy which for some might be a con
Overall I like this headset. The audio was great and they were comfortable for long gaming sessions. The longer stereo cable also allowed me to put it behind my back so it wasn't in my way while gaming.

Definitely a solid headset for the price. It's a little small, and doesn't have much bass but that's exactly what I would expect with the price. Just a simple headset with an aux connection nothing extra.
