    Uncomfortable but loud

I bought this headset with the hopes that it would be better than my turtle beaches. With all the hype surrounding Astro gaming and Astro headsets I just had to try them. I returned my Astro A10's the day after I bought them because they were far too uncomfortable to play in for long periods of time. If you, like myself, have big ears the astros WILL NOT WORK. Be honest with yourself here, if you have the biggest ears out of all your friends you may want to try turtle beaches or hang on to your receipt. The Astro A10 headset had great quality sound, my friends said the mic sounded very clear, seemed like an extremely durable headset, just uncomfortable around the ears. I used my Astros for about 3-3.5 hours the day I bought them and my ears were killing me. I brought home a pair of turtle beach recon 200's the next day and played 7+ hours straight in that headset. I can tell no difference between the sound quality of the A10's or the Recon 200's

In a world of pricey headsets ...

Gaming headsets can be an interesting case study in the art of price & features! It's easy to find headsets either in stores or on-line for $150 or higher. I've owned the PS4 since launch & had used the PS4 Gold Wireless headset until the hinges failed (which is a well documented issue). It has a TON of features but can be pricey. During my trip to Best Buy I wanted something with a lower price tag as well as a wired headset. I'm a fan of wireless however I didn't want to mess with yet another gaming accessory where I had to make sure it was always charged. This brings me to my Dec 2017 purchase of the A10 headset. I stood in the headset isle at Best Buy reading headset reviews on my phone. The A10 included a wired connection & a price tag of $59.99 - both where what I was looking for. After having the headset now for over a year I would highly recommended the A10 to any gamer or parent looking for a headset for their child. Having a less than durable headset in the past has made me cautious, however I can say the A10 has held up. I liked it so much I bought the Xbox version for my son. Stand Out Features: Audio Quality Noise Cancellation Wired Connection (no batteries needed) Comfort (well padded) My only "issue", if you want to call it that, is the lack of channel mixing between the game audio & chat audio. This feature is something the PS4 Gold headset does extremely well (the console offers this feature however it'sn't the same as a headset that splits the channels). The reason this isn't really an issue is this feature isn't something you'll find in this price point. The A10 also doesn't offer true surround (via either 5.1 or 7.1). Again -- this a feature set you won't find at $60. For these features games will need to look at headsets like the Sony PS4 Gold ($99) or Sony PS4 Platinum ($159.99) headsets or the Astro A40 + MixAmp ($249.99).
