It was a tad difficult to open on my lap with the way the engineering was on the hinge, which was a huge issue for me personally.

The screen has a great resolution. The trackpad some times is too sensitive but this is not a big issue . The speed of the applications is great . The sound of the speakers is not to loud . But normally I use them connected to my BT speakers.

Best Buy honors price match, though this zenbook is already an incredible value. This purchase was for a college student so portability was important. The laptop can handle alot with 16gb RAM and 512 SSD and the ability to connect to an AC router, so multitasking is no problem. Very sturdy, well made.

The screen size is fantastic and the thin bezels are nice. The laptop is light and compact and it seems to be moving snappy. The screen is nice colored. However, the track pad seems sticky to me and the track pad LED numpad is more of a novelty than functional. The keyboard is nice which is what I personally like about Asus. The laptop is a finger print magnet. The laptop is relatively quiet but at times it seems to be louder than necessary when I am simply writing a best buy review or watching a YouTube video. For some reason when I watch football highlights the picture doesn't look as clear as it should for 1080p. Overall, I can't justify the price, maybe if it was at 900, but 1200 to me is not worth it for the lack of functionality. Almost forgot, loud enough speakers, but at the top levels it will distort.

While we were able to get past Windows setup, the wicked machine kept shutting down spontaneously. It was worthless. So we returned it as well and bought a Dell and it works like a charm. I've been buying computers since 1985 and this is the first time I ever bought one that didn't work. I would not recommend this to anybody.

I certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused you. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, these are random problems. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or, part that stop working prematurely under normal usage. To successfully install WINDOWS update, a stable internet connection is required. Regarding the auto-shutdown issue, this is possibly be a power source or battery related. Quality graphics, sound and very fast. The keyboard is comfortable and the combo touchpad/number pad is a great feature.
