I did a lot of research before I bought this gaming laptop. Wirecutter recommends this as the best budget gaming laptop. If you want to read the review go to Wirecutter (www.nytimes.com/wirecutter) and search for budget gaming laptops. The 1660 Ti graphics card is nice improvement over my 4 year old GTX 970 graphics card in my gaming desktop. The screen is nice at 144 hz. Some reviews on You Tube say the color range is not as good as would be expected but I can't tell while running games. The only thing I thought was lacking in the specs was the 512GB SSD. I bought a 1TB nvme m.2 ssd for the second slot. The only thing I can say is the screw that is on the motherboard to hold the SSD in place was very tight and if you don't have a really nice screwdriver set you are going to strip the phillips slot on the screw. I recommend ifixit tools. But, if you are not up to taking the laptop apart I have found that an external usb 3.0 drive with a 2.5" SSD works great with all games. The keyboard is very nice..the keys are a pleasure to type on. It has a 90 watt battery and is supposed to run 8 hours under normal use I can't verify it though. Heat....I find that the keyboard does not heat up even when running full blast running games on high settings but it does pump out some hot air out of the back. I bought a pad to put it on and I think it helps a little bit but not sure it is necessary. It does get loud though sounds like a hairdryer running since I game with headphones on it does not bother me.. It comes with the Ryzen 7 4800H which is a great chip. I did notice Best Buy has this with a 17" screen, 16 GB , and 1tb SSD for only $100 more seems like a better deal. The only thing to think about is AMD just came out with the Ryzen 7 5000 series and ASUS has done a full lineup change with the NVIDIA RTX 30xx series. Not sure when they will hit the market but they were just introduced at CES.

The only thing extremely wrong with this laptop is the camera. As soon as I got it, the camera had issues, on such platforms like Zoom and Discord. Looking back at the reviews and the online info, it turns out that there have been several others that mentioned having the same problem(s) with their camera. I, nor they, have been able to find a fix yet, (the ASUS website-support recommended that I return it to my place of purchase), so you may want to keep that in mind! Other than the built-in camera, the laptop itself, is fantastic! I'm still learning the various attributes (since I've only had the laptop for 2 weeks). The keyboard does change colors in rotations. There's also a convenient calculator key. There are plenty of ports. The fan controls are located on the keyboard, as well (F5). On Overwatch (graphics set to ultra), I get ~110 FPS when the laptop is plugged in. The battery lasts for 5+ hours, so far, and it charges super fast! These are some of the primary reasons that I chose not to return/exchange the computer. Personally, I did elect to just buy a new webcam to attach. Hope this info helps!

I bought this computer for school...yeah, I know it's a gaming computer, but my classes are all online via conferencing, and I needed something reliable. The specs are great. It feels really sturdy. Most of all, this lil bugger is fast.

The laptop is working great. I love the feeling of running a powerful computer. I'm not sure if I'm really using it's capacity yet. I don't often hear the fans coming on. So far the most I've done simultaneously was run Adobe photoshop, InDesign, several word processing windows and firefox. I'm not a gamer, I'm into art and graphic design. There are a number of great features on this computer too. Backlit keyboard, drop resistance (not that I would want to test that). Sound quality. Spill resistance. There is only one thing it doesn't have and that is a dvd/blue ray drive. It still like the option of media...and watching movies

Disclaimer: this review is on first impression! This is the 1st gaming laptop I purchased in 2 years, so i cant compare to what's on the 2020 market currently. However, the laptop i received is not what was pictured, i received the grey aluminum cover with the "TUF" logo vs the black plastic cover with red trim as pictured... which i believe is a plus because aluminum is sleek and high end vs plastic. I looked at the specs and everything was as described -minus the plastic chassis. I previously bought the AC*R nitro 5 running on 1050 graphics card so this a premium upgrade and up to date. So far its nice and buttery smoooth. My son plays fornite and roblox, which isnt hard core gaming so cant comment on the other games. It feels its heavy for a 5 lb laptop but not an issue personally since we dont carry it around in a backpack for extended periods of time. After extensive research on De** G5, leg**** 5, and AC** nitro 5, and the other asus A15 model with 2060 grapgics but 60hz screen... i went with this asus since it seemed like the most bang for your buck. Hope this helps. 144hz. GTX 1650i. Ryzen 7 4800H. 16 RAM. Purchased for $999 retail, overall, a Happy camper! Prices are ridiculous during quarantine :(

Pretty good laptop, So far I've had it for three years and the only issue i have is the wifi disconnecting from time to time, might need to update my hard drive but we'll see what my computer tech advises i do.

I’ve had this laptop for about six months now and it is still as fast as it was the day I open it out of the box. Boot up time is less than 15 seconds every time. The hardware is quality and the specs are well done for gaming needs. The keyboard lights up and multicolors giving it a nice game or feel look.

Great laptop. Best bang for your buck. The laptop has been the same price since I bought it July 2020. Great value
