I was lucky enough to get this gaming laptop during Black Friday 2019 for around $580. The price point is fantastic. The computer is fast and responsive to daily tasks (Watching videos, surfing the web, and editing photos). I was able to play Destiny 2 (High), Planet Coaster (High), Fortnite (High), and Apex Legends (Medium/High) without any issues. The cons for this are the display is a bit dim for my tastes. You can make adjustments but it will probably not be a laptop good for use in a sunny or bright environment. The laptop keeps fingerprints on the keyboard and laptop surface and the keyboard has a bit of flex to it when typing. I would recommend adding at least an 8GB or 16GB stick of RAM for the laptop. Installation of RAM is simple (removing the back of the laptop and putting the stick in the RAM slot) with no removal of anything other than base/back of the laptop. Pros: Good multitasking computer Can play AAA games on medium to high graphics with no or minimal issues. 512 SSD Simple to upgrade RAM and/or SSD Cons: Keyboard has more flex than I am used to on laptops You may need to add more RAM for faster computing processing Dim display (May struggle in direct sunlight) I would recommend buying this laptop if you are able to find it anywhere near the Black Friday listed price. It a great beginner gaming laptop as well as a decent workstation for photo editing.

It’s an awesome laptop for anyone who want to game and do some work only thing I would recommend is upgrading the RAM which is very easy to do! I downloaded a few games and they all ran at 60+ FPS without any problems

Had it for a day. Installed Bnet, Steam, Twitch, Unity3D, and updated to windows 1903+ new ?DCH 441.12? Nvidia drivers without a hitch! Fast booting and very responsive. As for later upgrades another 8GB (Sodimm 2666 mhz) Ram stick would be helpful, and possibly an Nvme SSD to have a mobile LAN beast. Would I have liked a more future proof 6c8t CPU....sure but considering this is a tad faster than AMD's 4c8t CPUs with the same GPU...its hard to complain. Will update in future, but so far its sturdy, fast, and at the ~$550 sale price an easy choice.

I bought it two days ago. So far, it boots up quickly, the appearance is nice, clear screen, dissipate heat quickly, especially the backlit keyboard is convenient for night time. But the mouse control panel is slack, it makes a louder sound when I tap it. The software update and installation was slow, and I didn't finish it in nearly two hours. Also the battery life is shorter than normal. I wasn't playing games, I was just browsing websites and watching videos.

I bought at Black Friday and it's an excellent laptop. It has an excellent response on gaming and working, I recommend try to upgrade the memory ram. M2 SSD could be faster but it's 3 times faster than SATA SSD. Have a SATA port and Memory RAM slot available to upgrade it. Screen it's awesome and backlight keyboard lights it so cool. This laptop doesn't go too hot when you are playing. Just to have in mind, games go faster and fluid when you have AC power connect it. ASUS, you do a great laptop to game and work, with great balance between price and specifications.

This is my first ever review in which I feel entitled to do so. After Exactly one month of owning this computer this is what you should expect Pros: CPU: Nothing really interesting to say here. Good CPU. 4 Cores and 8 Threads. Graphics card : This laptop is a pretty solid laptop I have played minecraft and apex legends. Both games where running at 60 fps with no issues except when dropping from the ship on apex or having a million animals on a small place ( I think the realm might be just lagging because of that, you know a lag farm instead of chicken farm). Keyboard: The keyboard feels great.One of the best i have tried so far. The RBG lights looks cool and it adds 15 extra fps! Just kidding Screen: The screen its a 60hz panel dont expect the 144hz asus offers because this is not the one. 1080p. Great screen Kind of in the middle Ram: The 8gb of ram are more than enough although i recommend upgrading it to 16gb if you are doing video editing or an application with requires a lot of ram Battery: Battery is good. You can play some good games for about 1-2 hours. For other things I can predict around 4-5 hours.If you open the laptop you would notice that there is about 3/4 inch of space where more battery capacity would fit. Cons Touch pad: The touch pad is trash. Not going to lie over here. I personally dont use it that much, mainly because for gaming I use a mouse. Its not that bad but the texture they put to it is very odd. The best thing i can compare it is to the back of an iPhone 7. It feels the same way. My best guess is they know with time grease from finger tips would build up and make it "smooth" IDK. Next on the list Speakers: The speakers are extremely low on my opinion. Maybe is because of this next thing. They are located on the sides, not in the front or on top of the keyboard but on the sides I feel like my phone sound louder the them sometimes. If I put my hands in a way the sound directed me they sound as normal as a laptop can get. Placement really affected its performance This computer is pretty good for Gaming (dont expect ray-tracing), Rendering videos has good amount of power. I use solid-works and had no issues with it. Even used flow design and no issues Beware of the speaker and touch-pad. I always recommend to buy a wireless mouse when you buy a laptop since it makes your life simpler. I bought 2 of these as the least expensive full gaming computer on the market. It is a great regular laptop in performance. Battery life is only fair with plain use like Zoom video lasting less than 4 hours. I use the Iracing professional online racing simulator. It runs at its minimum with occasional minor lagging and glitches. I do not know if it would satisfy a serious gamer. Other reviewers have been critical. I'm satisfied enough to have bought a second one.

I had the choice of the Asus FX505DT(Ryzen 5, 256gb, GTX 1650) on Amazon for $599 OR this model Asus FX505GT(intel 5, 500gb, GTX 1650) for $579. It seemed like BestBuy was just offering a better deal since that particular intel CPU is slightly better than the Ryzen counterpart and double the SSD storage, seemed like slightly better parts with a slightly better price right? Well after researching further out of excitement wanting to give this gift to my girlfriend I discovered this intel model’s display refresh rate is 60hz NOT 120hz like the Ryzen counterpart. This laptop will probably be fine for her but I would have sacrificed the other slight improvements and $20 difference for the 120hz display IF that info had been represented correctly by BestBuy and Asus. Product info has nothing on the refresh rate, you have to dig into the BestBuy Q&A and Asus doesn’t even have this model on their website. If you search Asus TUF 505GT it will take you to the better model page which boasts an intel 7 instead of 5 and “Up to 144hz display” which I took to mean only the CPU was different in the one I bought. I don’t want to take away from the rating of this laptop because I won’t even see how it performs until she opens it on Christmas and all the deals are over so exchanging it for the Ryzen model doesn’t seem possible so I just wanted to warn people about this since the product info on this particular model (Asus TUF FX505GT-BI5N7) is pretty unclear. Will update on performance if needed later. 1/5 stars for product info, hopefully it’s even an IPS display like I thought.

This laptop is pretty incredible for this price range. It's quick and able to play all the games I bough it for without and hiccups. highly recommend.

Let me start buy saying if you are annoyed by coil whine do NOT buy this laptop I returned my original one due to it being loud and the second one I got also has it. Now the coil whine only happens when the laptop is plugged in and is in high performance mode not in portable mode thank god or it would always drive me nuts. Now for the great part you will not find another laptop with this kind of gaming performance for this price med to high settings at 1080p on all AAA games is great it can get a little loud but it does so to keep the cpu cool witch by the way does not thermal throttle and tops out at a toasty 95c but the GPU O MY GOSH does that stay cool at about 72c max witch is excellent!!!!!!!!! The keyboard does have quite a bit of flex but the keys themselves feel really great. The back lit RGB keys look great at night and are a joy to type on with enough travel to keep you happy even if you are a mech keyboard guy like me. The screen doesn't get as bright as I thought it would but its bright enough to get the job done with passable colors for gaming and web browsing and decent viewing angles my only problem with it is that its not a 120hz display just 60hz. Overall Im very lucky I picked this up at a steal of a price. This laptop is Really a good deal that is ruined by cheep Internal Capacitors that ASUS should be ashamed of for including on any of there products to be honest as this has changed my view of asus as company. 6/10

I got this on Black Friday for $579 and I will just say this, "This was the best buy for me!" because 1. I needed a new laptop 2. It was a great deal 3. it provided me with everything i needed However would I recommend it? " Yes, so long as you don't need something for color reproduction or the greatest gaming experience". Don't get me wrong though it plays games like World of Warships, Fortnite, PUBG, and many others just fine at medium to high settings.

I am pretty impressed with this laptop with the ability for upgrades. Such as SSD and HDD, RAM, and the i5 & 1650 combo is pretty solid. I upgraded the RAM from 8GB to 32GB of RAM. I added a 1TB SSD. This laptop came with a M.2 512GB which very fast. With all these features this laptop is really really good. For the price too on sale at less than $570. I have been really happy with its performance. I would recommend for GAMERS.

After owning for over a year, everything on this laptop still holds up. With the specs you cannot go wrong for the price. The graphics card is great for performing any style game (on mostly high graphics). The ability to change speed of fans for your needs is also an awesome perk. Great quality, lower budget, gaming laptop. It still holds up to this day!

This is great deal for $579 for those who bought is earlier. Has 1 slot for upgrade able ram, has a empty SSD slot if you want to add more storage. Great keyboard colors I do suggest adding additional 8 GB of RAM if you want to game on this. It is fast with the NVME drive and quick. Make sure to update drivers from ASUS website if you have any issues.

Don't listen to the negative reviews. This computer is awesome and we bought two of them on a Black Friday sale. The keyboard and screen are great and it runs most games well on the highest setting. I highly recommend this gaming laptop to anyone in the market for one at a decent price.

The laptop works fantastic for what I am using it for. Editing video's and it works flawlessly!! The battery life is not so good. 30-45 minutes and the battery was down to 25% left. All in all though, it's a great laptop, keyboard lights up, great screen and fast too.

It wont blow you away with the highest settings and frame rates buy it performance very well for its price. If you just getting into gaming and need portability, this will play any game easily and you should not notice any issues as long as you aren't seeking 60+ fps on max settings from all games.

THis is a great laptop.. I added 8 gigs of memory.. and a 1 terabyte HDD. It will play fortnight, COD, and every other game I throw at it, with great frame rates.. I will say, if you are gaming, the battery will die quickly, but hey that is part of it being a laptop.
