    This is the worst computer I have ever owned! Sound is impossible to get loud enough no matter what I've tried! Track pad is horrible, if you click on one thing you get something completely different! Horribly slow for just simple web pages and when trying to scroll down a page it hangs ups all the time! Just try to print something on this incompetent machine , it can't communicate with the printer even after downloading the drivers! Junk, Junk, Junk!!!!

      I do understand your disappointment with the quality of the product and the inconvenience this may have caused you if you are experiencing stability and other issues. On the contrary, lots of satisfied customers, having positive experience using the product, will agree with me that the unit is a decent system that is perfect for running popular computing applications, without compromising system stability and performance. The internal speaker is decent, however, for better listening pleasure, we recommend using a headset or external speaker system. The touchpad is a smart device, please allow some time to get use to the multi-touch function of the pad. In order to improve the touchpad responsiveness and stability, please install all recommended WINDOWS Update. If you are accessing web applications, please verify if the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will affect the responsiveness of the touchpad. Also, try updating the ASUS Smart Gesture utility and try to configure the touchpad within the application. In order to maintain optimum system stability and performance, cumulative WINDOWS Update needs to be installed periodically. If you are accessing web applications, please make sure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance.     Great product for its price

    Great product like I said, budget friendly and gets the job done. Only negative thing is the flimsy metal surrounding the keyboard? You’re able to bend it even when just typing. Able to upgrade to 16 GB total RAM aswell and the SSD if you feel like it’s slacking. AMD 12 processor is nice but would be cool to be able to interchange easily if wanted. Question though, I know it’s recommended to upgrade to 16 GB, was wondering why not to 24 GB if you had a 16 GB RAM ready to put in?

    Having left Windows for Apple, I’ve noticed that for as much as I love the Apple platform, I still needed a device that was reasonably priced and ran the Windows OS well. Having done my homework, I ventured upon this Asus brand laptop, while it might’ve been a larger laptop than I previously wanted at a “15”6” screen, the Asus X555QA without an internal CD/DVD optical drive, doesn’t weigh as much, and with care it can be a proper device for a student.

    I already own another brand with an A12 but with a regular hard disk. And I wasn’t very happy with it. But I was looking for another laptop for my plasma cutting table and saw this. After loading up fusion 360 on it it is pretty smooth and impressed me. YouTube videos load fast which is awesome. I definitely would recommend this laptop. The hardware delivers excellent speed for the price I paid.

    I got this computer to admittedly do a little bit of business while I'm away from my office. The screen resolution is quite adequate and in fact I have got a dvd reader so I could also watch movies. Some may like the keyboard with numeric keys on the right. The speed is fair but I don't really play games that would require more speed. It's built quite well and the battery lasts quite while. All in all a good purchase.

    Love it so far, replaced a four year old Toshiba. For $320, to get an 8mg memory and a 128mg solid state drive laptop is awesome. Easy set up, fast performance, nice features. No DVD drive or touchscreen, but my stuff is securely in the cloud, so this laptop is an ideal web surfer. ASUS has a good reputation. Thank you Best Buy!

    I bought this laptop because my Toshiba Satellite Pro got smashed. The toshiba was quicker, more stable, and better for gaming. My primary use is school and so the Asus, at 300 bucks, so far has been just fine. I'll likely upgrade to 16gb of RAM. Graphics and sound certainly are not great but if u need something for school or internet or FB, u cant beat this price. Purchased May 21, 2019

    I purchased this Asus laptop for 3 specific automotive diagnostic programs and works very well for it's intended usage. Battery life is great and seems to connect easily to WiFi. Have only used to internet to download and update apps and seems to have no problem. At some point I will delete all the apps and games I don't need. Overall very pleased with this laptop and expect it will work just fine for what I need it for.

    Bought this thinking an AMD A12 with 8Ram and SSD would be adequate for the price that is was offered for. I thought wrong. I was advised by a computer professional to return this computer because I would not be happy with it after a year or 2 of use. I wasnt very fast to begin with and would only get slower after extended usage. I will not get anything less than an Intel i5 and SSD for two reasons: Quality and Performance.

    Wow Very Impressed for Having a AMD A12 prossor!

    This is a little power house for an AMD A12 prossor. The eight gigs of memory and an ssd work very well together. We have had this laptop for 2 months and it still boots in about 15sec. If your going to surf the web, youtube or email or even some semi intensive computer work, this laptop should do you well. This laptop will also take up to 16gigs of memory. That would give you even better profomance.

    Thought when I ordered that the laptop had a cd drive..... nope. Had to buy it separately. Sadly, the standalone cd player has a very short USB cord and makes it awkward to use. I am really quite disappointed as this is the first laptop I have purchased since 2009. I did my research and was assured over the phone when I ordered that the unit had a disk drive.

    I bought this for my wife after her computer finally burned out after many years of use. She has not had any problem using this computer to do complex projects and uploading many photos and all of the usual tasks that requires basic computer knowledge. It has been basically trouble free and user friendly. Great first computer for anyone as the keyboard is nice and easy to read.

    We got this laptop for $275 on sale. Its only for email, and web surfacing. It is a full laptop and can handle MS Office. Only draw back no back light on the keyboard and the buttons don't feel solid. But it is extremely light weight laptop. Again the price was very low so can't complain too much. Much better than my 6 year old laptop.

    Great laptop, I love it! The touch screen feature is awesome and it's super fast. Probably about 10 seconds to load from the time I hit the power button. The only thing I am having issues with is updating my graphics driver, which I'm sure will be handled easily enough once I contact support. Other than that, it's a phenomenal machine and great for a beginner also.

    I was even luckier and got it on sale, but even so - its a great computer for every day tasks like checking email and social, your kids homework, viewing videos and browsing the internet so you can self-diagnose that headache you've had as a brain tumor within an hour. Well worth the price and it has a nice big screen, which is rare for a laptop these days.

    Cord broke and touchpad quit working

    Three days after I received this, the cord, which I guess had a kink from shipping. sparked. It was completely broken through to the wires and quit working. Ordered another one. When I could use it again, the touchpad quit working. Sometimes it works at power up, but not after. Very disappointed, I don't have very much money but my kids needed a laptop for school.

    Love this purchase - laptop was setup easily and is exactly what I expected! The mouse touch-pad is very sensitive (even after lowering sensitivity) and the keyboard seems to “bounce” slightly when you type. I’m not sure if the keyboard was designed that way or not, but it is more of a distraction when typing that something that creates comfort.

    Not a good time for me to review. Expected it to be relatively fast. It's very slow. May be confined to the Wi-Fi receiver. On my 200+ MBPS internet I get 10 to 15 on the Wi-Fi. My Microsoft Surface gives me over 70 on the same Wi-Fi (235 to 240 on my desktop bypassing Wi-Fi). Will give Best Buy a chance to resolve the problem. Hope they can.
