    I bought this laptop a week ago brand new

    and the laptop will not turn on. I used 2 different power cords and the laptop is dead. Unbelievable.

      Dear Deedee,

      If the laptop will not power on, boot up or it's just black screen, please do the following.

      Verify if the laptop is conected to a known good power outlet or AC source. Please try another known good power source and ensure the power button is being pressed all the way down in order to trigger a power on signal.

      Also, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory. This will reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the laptop until battery was charged.

    BEEN IN REPAIR MORE THAN ITS BEEN IN USE

    From the start, there have been issues with the computer turning on. I would have to hit the switch several times, hold it, dont hold it etc to get the thing to power up. I thought it was just a "quirk" I would have to get used to on my new computer, and that I would figure it out. Fast forward a couple weeks and it wont power up at all. I called ASUS service, and they suggested I bring it to the GEEK Squad, as they were an authorized service center. Sooo, I call them, and they schedule an appt for me to bring it in...3 weeks later. Now its been 3 more weeks, and the only thing I know is that "We're sending your device to the vendor for additional repair work". Absolute garbage.

      Certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused you.

      To power on the laptop successfully, the power button needs to be pressed all the way down in order to trigger a power on signal.

      Normal turaround time for ASUS warranty service is within 7 business day from date the product was received at the service center.
