amazing color, best ergonomics in monitor industry

After weeks of extensive research, I ended up going for this one, and there are a couple things that this one really stands out among the monitors in similar price range. First is IPS panel. My previous monitor was a non-gaming TN panel monitor (In fact, my previous monitor is quite old that it's not even possible to know what type of panel it has, but side-by-side comparison of color presentation and viewing angle limitations gave me clues that it's most likely TN panel). I frankly didn't even know that monitors come in such variety of different types and qualities. Anyways, after researching, figuring out that IPS panel seems to perform better when it comes to color presentation, I decided to go for one with IPS panel. And I really want to emphasize that you really would never know what those criticism on TN panels saying "colors looking washed out" means until you see one. Everything looks more vivid and lively. The biggest color difference comes with yellow-redish colors; human skin colors especially. In comparison to this monitor, my previous monitor makes human skin looks like pale-grayish colors (whereas this monitor shows as strong bright yellow). So again, there's tremendous color difference. Second strength is ergonomics. Again in this aspect, I had to make sure that my new monitor would need to have good ergonomics, especially the vertical movement so that I can arrange the monitor screen to be as low as possible to the ground. And this is because I have a computer desk which has another elevated board where I can sit the monitor on top, and push in my keyboards and mouse after use. Among all the 27 inch monitor models I've researched so far, the only one comes close was a model from Dell, but this ASUS monitor still tops other by far. With this one, having such thin bevel and "chin" of the screen, too, you can adjust the height so that the screen starts almost literally one inch from the ground. Third I would say is brightness. Among lots of other monitors under $500 mark, this one is on the highest tier for brightness (400 cd/m2, most others are 250 or 350. There are some 400 cd/m2, too). I thought it wouldn't matter much because I thought the highest brightness would hurt my eyes for normal use. After using it for a week, I realized it's really not the case. Well, although it's true that it actually might slightly hurt my eyes a bit if you look into 100% birghtness screen for hours, just the fact that your monitor has the capacity to go up that high is a definite advantage, especially when you play FPS. I only crank up the brightness to 100% only when I play PUBG or CS-GO by easily switching the viewing mode to FPS mode (which has a pre-set of 100% brightness). On normal uses to other game plays, I use scenery mode with customized brightness of 70%. But again, in general, even web browsing to TV watching, brightness capacity of 400 really is handy tool. Now a con, this monitor has a quality control issue with dead pixels. Again, before researching monitors, I didn't even heard of had issues of dead pixels. First monitor I got literally had 3 dead pixels which at first I thought was a dust or something. But it was clearly an interior pixel issue, one of them being quite bothersome and quite noticeable in size, too. Putting dead pixel test screen from Youtube, I found total of 3 (1 huge black, 1 small black, 1 white). I got an exchange, my second one is much better except it has another dead pixel. It's positioned very low to the bottom of the screen and small in size, so I decided to keep it. After researching about dead pixel issues, I found out it's really hit or miss. You can possibly get a monitor with dead pixels even the highest tier monitors that cost over 1k$. However, I must say, it seems like this ASUS TUF monitor line might have more common dead pixel issues.. But let's be realistic. I chose this monitor because among the similar price range monitors, it's one of the best deals (27 inch, 144 Hz, IPS, 1 ms, 400 cd, display port included - seems like some HP screens come only with HDMI, best ergonomics - some don't swivel, some are just fixed, no movement at all). So I must say, you're expecting too much for a low priced monitor with bunch of good features. A bit inferior quality control, but it's still I think a very good buy. Just make sure you buy from a company that promises a great return and exchange policy like Bestbuy. The likelihood of you having to get an exchange is definitely higher with this model. Anyways, in conclusion, everyday I am genuinely pleased to use this monitor. With increased computer use due to Corona pandemic at this time, although you might be paying for the full price, it's still a very good monitor for sure.

This monitor was purchased as s secondary monitor to my other I have. I wanted something above the normal common 65Hz even if it is a secondary. I was very impressed with the quality of video I get playing games on this. I have a 2090 Super and the 9900 Processor. I am happy with the quality of this monitor for the price I paid it is worth it and would recommend it. My other ASUS gaming monitor I purchased 4 years ago still operates well and has never had any problems whatsoever. I recommend ASUS and be sure to get the BestBuy Geek Squad protection plan as well just in case.

This monitor has a great response time and fantastic picture. I bought mine open box and at first the quality looked horrible, the previous owner had Vivid Pixel set to max which makes everything overly pixelated and caused color bleeding. Once this setting was turned off it looked great! I use this with a 5700 XT, and have plenty of room on most games to run at 144fps or higher. This was a great purchase and will provide a great experience until gpu hardware can affordably reach 144fps or higher on 1440p standards.

Absolutely great monitor... Even though it is not 4K, 1080p 144hz is all you really need at times. Response time has been perfect, no dropped frames, everything is crystal clear. The Rtings dot com website has this monitor as the Best PC Gaming monitor as of Summer 2019, they were 100% right. You cant beat a quality monitor that is decently priced.

The ASUS monitor makes any PC GAME look awesome, with the right coloring and set up you will have the best details towards any game. There is a downside towards having this monitor and is the speaker from the monitor. If you put the volume up for this monitor you can barely hear anything, I would highly recommend the consumer to buy a set of speakers for this particular monitor. Also, for those people thinking of using this monitor for video editing or graphic design it won't look great because the images will look really saturated and the brightness is really low. Overall, great monitor for those of you using it for gaming and budget value.

This is my second Asus monitor and both are great monitors. Previously had the Asus VG245H which was good for console but ended up getting a PC so I needed a monitor that would be able to run 144hz. Overall this is a great monitor and the picture on it is amazing. Cool thing about it is that it is able to tilt and swivel around. My only negative comment about it is the speakers that are built in are not loud at all. My previous Asus monitor speakers were a lot louder and I thought this monitor would be the same.

I purchased this monitor to play on Xbox One X with variable refresh rate, based upon the recommendation from rtings.com for best gaming monitor for Xbox One for fall 2019. Pros: Very responsive, no screen tear or juddering, & the blue light filter technology is great for long gaming sessions. I have been gaming with the Level 4 blue light filter. Although this makes the colors a little dull, I can appreciate the gaming experience better with less eye strain. As someone who is prone to migraines, this was very impressive. Cons: It's a 1080p monitor. I knew this going into the purchase, and I was gaming on 4K TVs the past couple years. I believe the trade off was worth it for less input lag, blue light filter technology, and VRR. I'm sure you can find TVs with these features or 4K montiors with these features, but I am happy with the price.

    1st monitor stuck pixel

I purchased this monitor with high expectations. I read the customer reviews and I was a little hesitant but decided to pull the trigger anyway. I received the monitor and set up was very easy. This monitor has all the right specs especially at the price point and lots of value as well. I really like the adjustability of the very sturdy stand and you can raise or lower the height very easily and it also tilts with ease. The picture is clear and the refresh rate playing games is outstanding but I only use a monitor with a 1 ms rating anyway. Now for the problem. Yep, 40 mins of use and then a beautiful red stuck pixel right in the middle of the screen. That is irritating. I called ASUS and they told me that I can send it back for repair but hey I bought a new monitor and if I wanted refurbished I would have bought one of those instead. I bought another one at Best Buy online as that is the only place I can find this model and used the original until the replacement came a couple of days later. I took the original back for a refund so it evens out. Now so far this one has worked out perfectly but every time I turn it on I keep wondering if this will happen again. ASUS should have recalled all the ones either sold or unsold and fixed the quality control issue instead of just throwing the dice. If I have no other issues then I am extremely happy with this item. It sure is a beauty and very easy to use. I could not give it 5 stars and decided on 3 because of the issues that I had and the hassle of obtaining a replacement and the curiosity of how many other defective units are out there. In all my years and monitors I have never had a dead pixel or one that was stuck on. I thought that I was buying a top brand name and I sure did not expect this to happen but I was warned by all the other reviewers. BTW, 27 inches is big but not as big as you think. Yes in the end I say go buy it but just beware of potential problems.
