This monitor is a steal for the listed price. Works great, comes with display port and HDMI cables that support 4k.
The buttons are a little weird but once you get the hang of it it's not really a problem.

I saw this reviewed by users on YouTube and it doesn't disappoint. When the reviews said the text was to small to read at the time i was worried but i haven't run into any trouble there.
I don't like the navigation buttons on the back of the monitor, i find it makes it a tad bit difficult to get around the settings but once you set it you really don't have to mess with it or at least i don't.
I feel like the colors could be a little bit better but i might need to calibrate it so ill try to update this when i get around to it.

I bought two of these Asus PB287Q for my Mac Pro (Late 2013 base model with AMD300 graphics) and wow, what a difference. I'm not a computer nerd, but I had two HP2711x HD monitors that are still good, but these Asus monitors are great. I use it for normal work/school stuff web searches, email, spreadsheets, and the occasional video. Text is clear and easier to read than on my previous HD monitors. I can only play sound out of one or the other monitor (A Mac issue, not a monitor issue) and the monitor controls are a little screwy to work with, but they work fine if you're careful. The base is solid, the adjustment height is very nice (can move the monitor screen without much effort but it doesn't drop unexpectedly either) and it is simple to set up on a desktop. Mine have a funny popping sound when waking the computer up from sleep, but it hasn't caused any issues. I use a mini-display port to Displayport cable to get the 3840x2160 at 60Hz (found on Amazon, search Accell) but you have to scale the screen resolution as the 4k is just too small to read. If you have a Mac, hold the option key down and click Scaling under System Preferences Displays and select the option that works for you. Great monitor and I highly recommend. Watch some 4k videos on it; it's awesome.

Based on detailed reviews and testing the two top rated monitors at home, the Asus 28" 4K has far the best-in-class display quality *AND* monitor design. Don't underestimate the importance of the monitor design -- ability to swivel is critical. AND the stability of monitor is key. It should not wobble if it or your desk is touched. The Asus is solid. Best tech purchases I've made in years, second to buying Macbook Retina 15".

Almost perfect

The perfect Monitor and just the right size for a desktop. It has a great display stand that lets you rotate in and raise it up and down pretty far for a desktop stand. It can also be attached to a wall mount because it has the screw holes for it in the back of the monitor.
Gaming looks fantastic in 4k 60fps when using the Display port plug in 1.2 mode (you have to set this by hand in the monitors menu). The picture in picture mode works great but I hardly use it but it does work and well!
The only draw back of this monitor is it lacks HDMI 2.0 to play 4k at 60fps. I believe it will play 4k but only at 30fps because it only has the HDMI 1.2 plug.
On that note dont buy this monitor if you are looking for a 4k screen to use on the new PS4 Pro or the new Xbox slim. Those two consoles only output options are HDMI and if you want the full 4k experience with those consoles you need an HDMI 2.0 capable monitor/TV. The monitor was made well before both of those devices where on the market so I cant blame Asus.
On the other hand if you are a PC gamer like myself this is a great value 4k monitor if you are using any of the new GTX 10 series graphics cards that can output 4k 60fps+.
I believe this is the cheapest monitor that is 4k at a decent size that wont break the bank, that can utilize 4k and you will be able to tell the difference between 4k and 1080p. Although best buy sells slightly cheaper and larger 4k TV's they are only HDMI 2.0 and lower input TV's, but those are TV's not really meant for fast gaming where you need fast refresh rate.

Not good with 2 inputs, RAPID repl. is a gimmick

The monitor has a problem dealing with 2 inputs - I have my Surface Pro 3 connected to Display Port and Comcast Cable box connected to HDMI. While I'm using the monitor with my computer if the computer goes to sleep the monitor unfortunately switches from Display Port to HDMI on its own even though the cable box is powered off. If I wake up my computer or even power off/power on the monitor with the computer awake the monitor does not come back to Display Port. The only way to get it back is through the Menu Input select which can be tedious if you have to do it multiple times a day. ASUS tech support was clueless, but eventually acknowledged the monitor is defective as it auto switches to a powered off input and does not switch back to the live input. Monitors 1/4th the price of this have the ability to cycle through and detect live input, so I was quite shocked to see this one doesn't and there is no way to specify one of the inputs as preferred. Since ASUS has no software driver fix they suggested I send the monitor so they could attempt to repair it. This monitor comes with a "Rapid Replacement" warranty (https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/690/) but I learnt that was just a sales gimmick as
i) they can tell you that they don't have a replacement in stock while all retailers are happily selling it because "in stock" is in internal stock at their repair facility which a customer has no way of verifying.
ii) they told me I was responsible for shipping but I told them no-way as I paid close to ~$500 because 2-way shipping was included and because of Rapid replacement. They grudgingly agreed to send me a FedEx ground shipping label. So basically 1wk for the monitor to reach them, 1wk for them to ship it back and at least 2wks for them to attempt repair. So under "RAPID Replacement" you are out of a monitor for at least 1 month. They couldn't even tell me if they were unable to repair what model would they replace with given they claimed to "out of stock" on this one.
ASUS tech support in addition to being clueless (all they could suggest for troubleshooting was reset monitor) is unresponsive. I submitted an online complaint and got email receipt of confirmation (WTM20170107073834471) with response promised within 48hrs but it's been a week with no response and online status check just says in process. I was unhappy with the lack of "RAPID Replacement" so I asked to speak to a supervisor but wasn't allowed. I gave them enough time to have a supervisor call me but no one has so far ... You have to call them or get them on chat but then you get connected to clueless folks.
Bottom-line the monitor is ok if you have just one input but very inconvenient with two, ASUS tech support is pathetic and "RAPID Replacement" is a sales gimmick.

so far so good, the screen is nicely built and image quality looks sharp and is pretty nice, games look very nice at 4k, overall was well worth the money, higher refresh rate then 60hz would be nice, the new asus swift rog comes to mind but it doesn't have 4k res, overall pretty happy so far
