This product was purchased to expand my Asus laptop capability. It is light weight yet rugid enough to travel. I watch many movies while traveling or laying around the house and the portability works for me. I can install new software and updates when needed as well. I would recomend to anyone wanting to upgrade without paying a fortune.

This drive is simple. It just works. Very quiet and only uses 1 USB port on my MacBook pro.

Cannot say anything better about this little bit. This guy is great for the price and works like a champ.

Product is great for copying duplicate disks without taking up any of your hard drive space. It also is great if you download from other sources and then transfer to disk. The only thing I would say is a negative thing is the advertised picture shows a stand and the product sent does not have that capability. Description and picture on Best Buy site should be changed to reflect this. Otherwise great price as I said before easy to use.

I got a new IMAC and was looking for an external CD drive and didn't want to pay $80 for one (Apple's option). I looked around and this was the cheapest on that I've seen and by a brand the I trust - ASUS. It was a piece of cake to install and I have burned a few CDs, ripped a few DVDs, and installed some software onto my imac. I have yet to have an issue. works great and at a low cost.

Needed a back up drive for laptop. This thing works great. Love the brand. Asus laptop as well. Loved how it was vertical on a pedestal. Decent price.

This burner requires a lot of power. Being plugged into a surface pro USB and a powered USB block was not enough. I had to use an iPad USB wall charger to get it enough power to work ... Other than that it looks great and works fine ..

When I first got my current PC some years ago, I soon found that it actually didnt come with an internal built-in DVD Drive... Which was somewhat surprising & annoying. Leading me to buy this. Which is the very first of its king that I have ever bought, or used. So I'm not sure how it stacks up, compared to other similar products. But I know it works like it is supposed to, & does what it should.

It is perfect for the price and does what I need it to do.

Purchased in conjunction with a stand alone computer with no internal CD/DVD drive. Very easy to set up, and compact enough to fit wherever.

Bought this to go with a new laptop (also Asus) that does not have an internal optical drive. Machine has Win 8.1 on it. No issues at all plugging it in and getting it setup. Really only need it to install some programs that came with CD's. Haven't tried to burn a disc with it, yet. Looks good and works good so far.

This Asus dvd burner was easy to install and use, very nice for the money.

Slim, lightweight and the color matched my laptop. Very easy to use and virtually no setup. Perfect for my needs!

All in all, can't beat this deal, we paid less than $35, but the plastic housing has me worried, hopefully it holds up under more use. So far has seen light duty only, and is doing great, but more extensive use coming soon as I back up more photos to hard copies.

Chose this one because the ad shows that it has a stand, but it didn't come with it. Don't be fooled with the ad! Used it to play my PS1 and PS2 discs on an emulator. And works great.

There was no stand up holder, but it works perfectly so far. I use it to record my CD's onto my HP Pavilion so I can have a copy in case I lose or break those CD's. The Pavilion has a CD thing too, but I prefer the external, and am really impressed with my purchase.

There is no easy way to load legacy software onto the ASUS transformer without this external DVD drive. It works well, however, your ASUS MUST be plugged in to a power source.
