I've never owned an external drive and I wasn't sure what to expect when I found this particular one. The price is good, the brand is great but would it work for what I needed. Guess what, it does! It feels solid but light and looks great with it's diamond pattern. It's a great drive and records very smooth and fast. I'm impressed with this unit. I recommend buying it if you need a new drive.

I got this to be able to add programs to or watch dvd's on my computer that does not have a cd/dvd drive. It was very easy to install and did just what I wanted. I have only used it to install 2 programs so far so I have not used it a lot but s far so good.

works fine, I have no problems. I just needed it because my new laptop had no dvd drive.....

This external drive is easy to set up and use. Works great!

Gave it a 4 star instead of 5 because the stand shown in the picture isn't included. Not really a deal breaker as the drive works great otherwise. Hard to argue against the price.

Looked very stylish on website. Once I got it home is was a light weigh plastic and the advertised stand was not included. Disappointed in item.

It reads all my 50,000+ files on my dvd. Many dvd drives doesn't read many files. LG, Toshiba doesn't read my file. Speed is good. negative: 1. It doesn't come with standing leg as you see on the picture. 2. A little loud cliking noise at the beginning of loading.

The drive works extremely well considering the price. I wish it was a little faster, but you can't beat it for the price. The stand that in the picture isn't included. That's the only downfall.

Needed to replace internal dvd drive . Thought external would be easier since I wouldn't need to open case. Works well however the stand is not included.

The ASUS external drive works as expected and the brushed metal look is nice. The tray is rather slim, so not the best for clumsy adults or kids.

This drive works as expected. Please be aware that the drive does NOT come with the stand as pictured.

We got this external drive for my wife to use with her new computer. She can now do as she wishes with all of her photos and music. She is very pleased.

This a good external writer. The only problem is tha it is very hard to find blank media. Best buy does not even have any and they still sell the drives. I am not happy with that but the writer works great.

i needed something that allowed me to download CDs to my itunes and i wanted to be able to watch dvds and this does the job, perfectly

It would have been a 5 star but it didn't come with stand. Otherwise, this product works just like it should.

easy to use, works perfectly on both pc and mac! just plug it in and it's ready to burn or read discs

The dvd drive is excellent with easy set up. The only negative thing I can say is the picture shows a base for this product but it doesn't come with one.
