I would think a named brand company would build a good, not necessarily great product. But this Cbook is absolute garbage. Ive had Acer, and Lenovo in the past and bother were solid performers. This one though has been sent in once after 6 months with battery issues. Now, just as the warranty expired the battery is doing the same thing. Not holding a charge
But this is the part that I feel is fraud. The 1st time the battery had 90 cycles, and showed 80% battery health. After the repair it was fine. Now, 4 months after repair the battery is showing 99% health with 44 cycles, and the battery is dumping fast. Imo, Asus revamped the efficiency rating to show the battery is fine, yet in reality its not.
Avoid this brand. Sure, theyve been in the business forever. But when you try to gas light me and say "oh everything is fine".. Im done. Its been 1 year, and gone through 2 batteries. I use the factory charger as well. Look elsewhere to spend your earned money- not on this dumpster fire

6 months, and just start having issues powering this thing on, after shutdown it only powers on when connected to charger and then can be unplugged before battery die, I'm carrying the charger all the time. Save your money and buy a more reliable brand.

I bought this chromebook for my daughter to use at school. Several months later, the chromebook is having issues with the screen turning off while using it or the screen not turning on at all. As of this writing, the screen will not turn on even after trying all the “dumb guy” recommendations. I will not buy an Asus product ever again.

The computer is very buggy and the touchscreen doesn't work half the time. The touchpad is also very bad, it's not accurate and bad to use. Also the brightness randomly changes from time to time and there's no way to change it. This is the worse laptop I've had.

The machine was unreliable and had a large repertoire of repeated failure modes. In over 45 years of designing, building and using personal computers, I nave never seen a product that was this unuseable. Needless to say, I returned it.

Prior to buying this product I asked the sales clerk does that have more than 1 USB port he said yes and pointed- I arrived home and it only has 1 USB port. So you can't use your mouse and print at the same time! When I went to buy a Refridgerator from Capitola Best Buy after waiting a long time- she didn't know her product, when I went to buy security cameras from best buy she didn't know her product and now this computer-
I bought my Printer/fax/scanner/copier from Staples they know their product inside and out

This is the worst laptop or Chromebook I have ever owned. It shuts itself off all the time (it is not from being updated or needing an update, I have checked that). It also *constantly has a glitch in video performance. Watching a simple YouTube video it glitches at least once a day, sometimes several times in a matter of hours. Terrible, will never buy an Asus again

I purchased 2 of these chromebooks for my daughters for Christmas. Within 6 months, both of them won't charge or turn on. I had to send into Geek Squad (2 weeks apart) and have the motherboards replaced. The fact that the same thing happened to both of them tells me that they were built with defective parts. I do not recommend this product.

I unfortunately had to return it. Within the first week it froze up on me several times requiring a restart every single time. I was disappointed because it has so many good reviews. Maybe the one I was sent was faulty but either way I decided to return & will keep looking for a new laptop
