I bought this chromebook for a class I was taking as my previous chromebook was an older model and was having problems with zoom calls. Thus far, its been great for zoom calls, working on documents via google docs, checking email and some light streaming. I haven't played any games on it yet though so I'm not sure how it would perform in that regard. It is on the heavier side, which doesn't bother me because I plan on using it in my home office only, but might be an issue for you if you want to use it while on the road

It's a fast and powerful 2 in 1 laptop with a beautiful screen. The blue case is a nice change. This is a sturdy chromebook. The downside is that this machine is pretty heavy.

I love the sturdy feel of this chromebook and the nice visuals of HD definition on movies. I write a lot on my laptop so the ergonomic keyboard has been exceptional. The only thing I don’t like is that the screen dims without provocation. It’s an easy adjustment to make but occurs frequently, 2 or 3 times a day. This is my first chromebook and so far I would rate it over other laptops I’ve owned. What a surprise considering I’ve never owned one before.

Getting a chromebook, most people know what they're getting into. You're not purchasing a gaming powerhouse. Chromebooks are made to for the average person's day to day use. This Asus Chromebook not only helps you knock out your day to day tasks, you'll do them with ease, and in style.
The look on this chromebook is niiiice! When I first pulled it out of the packaging I have to admit, I didn't expect something so smooth. The blue is a nice shade, and the chromebook itself is slim and smooth.
Setup for Chromebooks is super easy. Sign-in to your Google account and BAM! You're ready to go. Chromebooks are mostly cloud based. Google's office suite saves everything to the cloud, so the 128 gig hard drive works fine.
A major key for chromebooks is the keyboard. Seeing as you'll mostly be using this for day to day use, having a solid keyboard is important and in typing with the keyboard, I found no issues. The keys felt like they were right where they're supposed to be, and the button presses felt solid.
What I didn't realize ahead of time was this Chromebook was a touch screen! With access to the Google play store, the touch screen essentially turns this Chromebook into a tablet, which is awesome.
Again, you know what you're getting with a Chromebook, but I will say the one knock on this chromebook is the screen. It's a basic 1080p screen, which, fine for Google docs, but watching videos was a "meh" experience. Finding a way to keep the price point low while perhaps opting for an OLED screen would improve the overall look of the display, but also have a big impact on video viewing, giving you a machine that can do everything but high end gaming at a low price point.
All in all, for those going back to school, for those needing to knock out a few docs here and there, for those working on Google sheets on the go, this Asus 14" Chromebook is a solid machine with more then enough to get what you want to get done, done. It's 2 in 1 ability is an added bonus, but you may want to whip out your phone for Netflix watching on the go.

I love chromebooks and I think Asus did a great job with this one. They are using AMD's Ryzen 3 7320C which is part of the lineup of AMD processors that were designed specifically for chromebooks. This 14 inch chromebook should fit the needs of 95% of people in my opinion.
Out of the box, it feels familiar to most other chromebooks in its class but also has some design language that are similar to other Asus products. It feels solidly built although only time will tell. In my experience, chromebooks do tend to have some more mechanical issues (hinge, screen, etc.) than I would like, even the ones at more expensive price points. It feels sleek. The bezels are a bit thicker than I would like in the day and age. Overall, the design is simple and nice.
Performance is excellent. The AMD Ryzen 3 7320C is an excellent processor. There is no lag with normal tasks of web browsing, streaming, documenting. It can handle light gaming as well but I did not test any. The display is FHD. If you are used to higher resolutions, it will be a noticeable dip but otherwise a perfectly good screen. The brightness I believe is around 300 nits which is average. It is enough for indoor use with minimal to moderate amount of sunlight. The keyboard feels nice and tactile. It is not too mushy. The webcam is actually 1080p and not 720p like 95% of the competition. The speakers are bottom firing which I still do not understand why companies do this, but it is decent. It does not get as loud as I would like but otherwise is clear.
All in all, a solid chromebook from Asus.

GOOD
- Good performance
- Decent battery
- Big touchpad
- Good USB port selection
BAD
- Big
- Heavy
- Glossy screen makes glare a problem
- No stylus on this particular model
- Bordering on too expensive for Chromebook
TLDR
The Asus Flip is a fast and capable Chromebook, as it uses the same components found in full on laptops. But at the same size, weight, and price of a full 15" laptop, you need special reasons to opt for a limited ChromeOS over a normal laptop.
DETAILS
I don't like the idea of a premium, high-performance Chromebooks. The Chromebook's original purpose was being an inexpensive alternative to a regular laptop; it's something good enough to do basic computing tasks ( typing documents, handling email, web browsing/researching, maybe some spreadsheets ) but at a significantly lower cost. A premium or high-performance Chromebook mostly defeats that purpose because that usually requires pricier hardware internals that are more typically found in full laptops running operating systems that aren't based on web browser. This particular Asus Flip model at $500 ( as of this writing ) is the same price as an entry laptop, so it skirts the bounds of what I would consider too expensive.
That being said, using the new 7000 series of Ryzen processor, it's very quick and you don't see any lag or slowdown in it at all, and it has plenty of RAM to have lots of browser tabs and applications open ( now that Chrome can run Android apps ). The 128GB storage drive is a little disappointing for the price. There is a microSD slot, which you'll probably want if you need more storage. For connections, you have three USB 3 ports, all 10 Gbps or better, and one type-A port for older cables and drives, so that's nice. If you want to use an external display, you have a full HDMI port and the USB ports also double for DisplayPort. Battery life is also pretty good.
The biggest downside, apart from price, is the size. Though this is touted as a 14" notebook, it's only slightly smaller than most 15" laptops. It's bigger and heavier than any 14" laptop I have. At over 4 lbs, it's also heavier than some of my 15" laptops. The hinge can flip the display completely back in a tablet mode, but the weight makes it extremely uncomfortable to use that way ( I don't even like using my 3 lbs laptops in tablet mode, let alone this monster ). The screen does look nice, but it's very glossy, which makes glare and reflections an issue. And though some Flip models come with a garaged stylus, this particular model does not.
There are some reasons to still opt for a Chromebook instead of a normal laptop, even at this price. Chromebooks can be more easily locked down and monitored, either for children to use or perhaps as a business owner for employees. In this type of use, the Flip isn't too bad and may even be considered a good choice. But for a personal computer for an average adult, you can probably find a regular laptop at a similar price that will be more capable and versatile.

Excellent performance for the $279 price paid while on sale. I have had a couple of screen lock-ups on this Chromebook that required a hard reset, but other than that it has checked every box for me.
The screen is glossy and subject to glare, but colors are fairly rich and brightness has been good for my needs. Much better speakers than anticipated! I mostly use this in laptop mode, but the tablet mode is a nice feature as well. Quick and snappy interface and the performance has been perfect with YouTube/movie streaming with multiple tabs open. Very happy with this purchase!

I just picked up this Asus Chromebook today. So far its really nice and better than what i suspected. Best Buy does not specify all its features correctly. 1st..it is 2-in-1; a convertable 360° rotation. 2nd... it DOES have backlit keys. 3rd...I love the color; it beats old boring black. It certainly feels heavier tha 3.? lbs; which makes it sturdy
