    Great Photoshop Machine

    Posted .

There's not too much bloat software on this machine, but once you've gotten rid of it this is a very nice computer. Besides being visually appealing, it has plenty of horsepower to handle my needs. (Photoshop and Lightroom#. The internet is lightening fast and the Windows 8.1 experience is smooth as silk. This model does not have a SSD or lighted keyboard. I read some foreign reviews that stated those were included but that was either a foreign edition or another model. Whatever the case, the included keyboard and mouse get the job done. I don't use the machine for gaming so I cannot attest to it's performance in that regard. I put a lot of research into this purchase and I'm glad I made the right choice. This machine contains a lot of advanced features #Bluetooth, Intel AC Wireless) that should keep it future proof at least for a couple years. Paired with an Asus 24VN247 24-inch monitor, this setup is really nice to look at and performs extremely well.

I use this computer for audio editing and gaming. Plenty of storage space and quick processing of large files. The graphics card is good...maybe too good. My cats always try to catch whatever they see on screen.

Not a bad rig, but could be better.

Bought this as I had not purchased a new gaming computer in quite some time, and with a busy work schedule, not enough time to build one of my own. To start off with, this computer visually looks awesome. Three RGB zones to customize, minimal space casing, and plenty of ports to suit a gamer's needs. The software ASUS included is what bugs me, as it's causing BSOD's from time to time, and I haven't narrowed it do exactly as to why. A minor inconvenience, but one nonetheless. Runs plenty of games just fine, with no trouble at all. It can handle Arma 3 on very high or ultra depending on how you tweak your settings, and it should run MMOs/RPGs/etc just fine. Overall, it's a somewhat steep price for a gaming desktop, but the design of it helps when having friends come over for LANs, planning for small space gaming, or even just wanting a minimalist case in general. Not a bad computer by any means. 8/10.

    Powerful

Overall the product is great, but has some flaws. It ran all the multiplayer online games at max settings, for a time. It turns out that there is a port for an external power supply for the video card that is not supplied with the desktop. From what I can find, it should run without the extra power, but when I took into the Geek Squad, they told me the video card was not getting enough power to operate and HD videos or games they tried on it. I do not know if WIN 10 or the new drivers require cause it to require the extra power, or a bad video card, I would love to hear from someone who had it working fine before the WIN 10 release and then had to get the extra power. In the meantime I ordered the specific power supply (180w 19.5v 9.23a) for an ASUS gaming laptop and as of right now has not come in yet. I will update my review once I have tried it out. Even with this experience, the time I was able to use it, provide flawless max setting graphic ability. Can not wait to try it with the power supply.

Best Gaming Computer for the price.

This is the best gaming computer for the price. I can run WoW, Skyrim and GTA 5 on max graphics with no problem at all. Many people have complained that the fan is too loud. I have owned this computer for about 9 months now and it's still working the way it did out of the box. It also comes with a mouse and keyboard. My mouse has worked great. However, I did replace the keyboard for a gaming one and I am using the one it came with for a spare. The only strange thing about this computer is that is said it came with two power cords.. It only came with one. So if you're tight on money and want a decent gaming computer I recommend this one.

    GREAT FOR MY NEEDS-SO FAR

I'm not a Gamer. Don't even know one I could play on this PC even though my son is a professional gamer. I bought it for the ability to support 4 monitors as I learn to play the Market. I read too many bad reviews about DOA's along with other problems, but have experienced none within my first month. It is fast, Great graphics for my use and an outstanding sound system . Anything and everything i could ever ask for in a PC at this price. I searched for weeks trying to find something to match this ASUS and NOTHING came close. Maybe a home build, but I priced out what is inside in order to justify my not returning it due to the bad history in the reviews I read, but still could not find anything to beat it. The lighting options are cool, plenty of USB ports, 2 HDMI, DVI and VGA out ports to push 4 monitors. That's what I NEED. All the other bells and whistles are just a bonus. Read other reviews about its Gaming abilities. If you open the case to do any upgrading, you void the warranty. I guess it is so tight inside that ASUS does not want the hassle of repairing these after someone tries to add more RAM or change out the Graphics card. Personally I am happy as it is and is fast enough for my needs, I don't need any thing upgraded. But I still think it is extremely foolish on their part and will influence me when I have the time in 6 months or so when I start my own build. This was necessary at the time I bought it and am quite happy now and more so if it lasts until October. But it will be my last store bought PC as every manufacturer is jumping on the proprietary train as it passes by. The futuristic looking compact case is sharp, but as I already said almost prevents you from any upgrading. If you do add an i7 CPU/better GPU, you will also have to buy the other power brick (230 W) to add along with the (180 W) that comes with the i5 system. This system was prepped for Best Buy and has a keyboard that is absolute trash, didn't try the alleged "Gaming" mouse and does not have the SSD installed either, but I have read there is room for it. Here again you open it up you dump the warranty. Even afterwards you must take out the extended warranty and have the GEEK Squad do your upgrades or you lose the warranty with them also. This I have already checked out with customer service. All in all this compact gaming PC has many things going for it, looks cool, keeps cool, has got the power especially for what I need it for. But for Pete's sake don't touch it other than to push the power button. You'll never know who'll come knocking on your door. LOL

    Well done!

    Posted .

I have only had this machine for a few days but I thought I would write my first impressions. I purchase this computer because I have no room in my home office for a large tower and I needed a pretty powerful system with plenty of RAM and disk for me to do my photo editing in Adobe Lightroom. My laptop was out of disk space, didn't have enough memory and the processor was a few years old. The unit is as cool as it looks in pictures and takes up very little space on the desk top. The systems is much faster than my laptop (but not quite as fast as I hoped but I may be being unrealistic) and using Lightroom is definitely quicker I have not had any issues with it so far. I like the silly little apps that are included (AEGIS) and the customizable leds. The 100mb of Asus webstorage is a nice bonus. it also is very quiet. The PC includes some apps that make managing the computer much easier and when it boots it tells you how to get into the BIOS, which my wife's laptop fails to do. I am not a gamer so I can't comment on that. The only other small frame pc with the same specs I found was a Dell Inspiron. Granted it was $300 cheaper but it did lack the discrete video card. My guess is if you are looking for performance PC it is more cost effective but I really like the style of this. I also think there maybe performance differences if you are a gamer So what else can I say. Video looks great, it has plenty of usb ports, includes a dvd/cd rw drive, gigbit ehternet and built in wifi. The only thing I found missing was a SD card reader but I have an external that should do the trick. So far I love it. We will see how it performs over the long term. PS 1 last detail.. Best buy sells the G20aj-B007 model. This very similar to the G20aj-023S model carried by most other outlets. The only difference I have seen is this one does not include the hybrid 8GB SSD and 1TB hard drive. It only has the 1 tb drive. My guess is this is Best Buy only model. All the other specs are the same. In addition this one only need one plug, not 2 like the higher end I7.

    Noob PC Gamer

    |
    Posted .

I was new to the PC Gaming community. I was a casual PC Gamer playing primarily on an old laptop. One my taste in games became more refined, my 2009 laptop didn't satisfy me anymore. Building my own PC was daunting so I went the easy route and searched for a pre-built. I wanted something fast, something hot, something cost effective. THIS. This was the answer. I've been extremely satisfied since buying this PC and can run many games, Bioshock Infinite, for example, at the highest settings at 60fps without delay. This is an excellent PC for gamers and it looks rad as hell too. The only downside about this purchase is that a few months after I purchased it, they came out with a newer version of it.

Bought this item yesterday, in less than 24 hour I already had to conduct a factory reset. Many reviews complained about having to factory reset many times within a month, I didn't think it would happen to me. To be exact, I was able to play Skyrim on ultra settings and it was immaculate. Before going to bed, I ensured that this item would update all necessary updates, this includes system updates and something else about an Nvidia (program) update. Low and behold, I returned to Skyrim and the game ran at 4 and 5 frames per second. Like a game with conflicting mods, I was forced to reset to default and try again, only this time one update at a time. Was it the system updates, or the Nvidia (program) update? This review is unfinished, updates to be expected shortly. Verdict thus far, not recommended.

    powerful multitasking

First, let me address the people complaining about the Windows update error when you first launch... Don't update Windows first, update your graphic card and bios, then update Windows... That's common practice. The operating system must adapt to the environment it is in, the graphics card can't. Plays games well, multi monitor support out of the box. Great computer for a web developer that needs video editing speed. I run dreamweaver, Skype, illustrator, and Photoshop while in developer mode of Firefox without issue. The i7 would be the way to go if you intend on gaming hardcore.

My 14 year old loves it!

I bought this for my 14 year old son who just loves it! He says it is "very fast" and that is important apparently when playing certain games. The colors are very pretty. It does not run hot like some systems we have had in the past. Processor is fast. No problems yet and we've had it for a over a month.

    Great Buy for the money

    Posted .

If you are not going to build your own PC and you want something from a good reliable brand this rig will do it. Comes in 2 versions an i5 and i7 version, I highly recommend the i5 for the value, won't run EVERY game on max settings but the hardware is solid and reliable. If you were to take the price of this rig, make a micro ATX motherboard-based machine and get it under $850 you could probably out spec this . BUT can you go pick it up at your local store with 0 effort and labor? nope. Save yourself the pre-built headaches if that's not your thing.

    Good PC for gaming

    |
    Posted .

This PC is extremely quiet and the case is really cool. Of course is not the best option but it excels for what it promises. If you wish a not-so-hardcore gaming PC and you are not into details of buying components and 'jury rigging' computers, this is your choice. I used to have lot of spare time for gaming but now that I'm into T.V. series, have a professional job to attend and family to take care of, considerate money investment on how much time you will distribute on your activities. This PC is money-efficient, as well as cosmetic and compact size. I recommend this for beginner to part-time gamers.

    My Son Loves It

    |
    Posted .

I bought this computer for my son to play online games. His prior computer could not keep up with the graphics on some games. We noticed an immediate difference in the graphics of this computer. My only issue is that after we set it up the first time, we came upon all sorts of errors when we rebooted it and had to call in to have the machine reset to factor settings. This caused us another day of re-programming all of our programs and games into the computer. No problems since, though.

    Very good gaming computer

    |

It has the hardware that can handle running games at high resolutions with everything turned on and still get smooth frame rates. A 2GB Nvidia video card and 8 GB of ram it comes out of the box ready to go. Fast and large capacity hard drive. The three zone's of color LED's on the case is a nice touch. It looks amazing. Quiet running fans and since it uses a external power brick, it allows for a streamlined case (since it doesn't use a large internal power supply). This was my nephews Christmas and birthday present and he loves it as well. Also looks very good when connected to a HDTV, crisp text, brilliant graphics. All in all very pleased with this computer.
