Awful. I have a 3 year old laptop that i was trying to upgrade to Wifi 6. Every other device that i have can get approx 500mbps download speeds via ax. I can even get 60mbps download on this. Even if i put the laptop next to my router it just doesn't work. No way they can claim this is wireless ax. I should have paid attention to all the disclaimers on the asus website before i bought this. It's not my wifi or my computer. Its this piece of garbage. I wish i still had the box so i could return this and buy something else. Pictures speak for themselves.

Nowhere near the speeds it should be.
I was having some issues with my built-in WiFi, but none with a TPLink AC1300 (Archer T3U) adapter. I thought this would be a good upgrade for me. I have enterprise-grade WiFi APs from Ubiquiti. I'd read that some people said this one wasn't performing as it should, but I thought it might just be operator error or a couple bad ones.
Unfortunately, after installing, I too had these woes. My download speed ranges from 100-150mbps with this adapter on gigabit internet while my upload speed ranges between 8-55mbps. When I switched back to the TPLink, I went to ~200d/260u. I also noticed that this device was quite warm to the touch, unlike all the other USB adapters I've tried. I suspect that it may be overheating, which at least partially causes the issues.

Dear Raptor2213,
We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused.
If the wireless connnection is slow, please uninstall drivers for the previous adapter in order to avoid any possible driver conflict and install the most current driver posted for the adapter at: https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/adapters/all-series/usb-ax55-nano/helpdesk_download/?model2Name=USB-AX55-Nano. Also, please verify if the PC's USB port is working properly and the most current chipset driver for the computer was installed. The adapter will be warm to feel if it's running or being used. If you think the heat is not normal, we recommend that you have it check at the nearest BestBuy location.
Should you need further assistance, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: https://www.asus.com/us/support/Article/1135/.

Bought this because I wanted to convert a older laptop to wifi6. And it keeps the Asus tradition alive. Over priced and extremely underperforming.
2 feet away from a Nighthawk CAX80 this gets a blistering 200Mbps down. The Intel 9560 was getting 920Mbps down.
Save your money don't waste your time. Tested in a USB 3.1 and 3.2 port and speed's we're never higher then 250Mbps. Significantly slower then AC and much less range.

My wife's Lenovo laptop was having a hard time staying connected to my ASUS RT-AX58U AX3000 WIFI 6 AiMesh network. Wow, that's a mouthful. I decided to give this adapter a try.
I downloaded the driver from ASUS website 1st. Plugged in the adapter. Installed driver. Gave it a test. Speed wasn't the best. I then disabled the built in WiFi adapter that came with the laptop and saw much better speed.
It is a little pricy at $50, but I'm happy with the results.

This Wi-Fi adapter is good, gets a good signal and is pretty reliable. Only drawback is that you need a CD driver to load the drivers. It’s not plug and play. I had to go onto another laptop to get the drivers off the cd. I put it on a thumb drive and was able to put it on the laptop that had the issue with the original network card. Once it loaded it worked excellent.

This device underperforms severely for what it is supposed to be, and the driver support is abysmal. Plugging in the device doesnt successfully download the correct driver, and going to the support site listedto download drivers straight from the manufacturer yields an incorrect driver intended for a router, not the aforementioned device. To simply get the device funtioning required a visit to a sketchy third party website, all to finally learn that this garbage product inderperforms simply tethering my cell phone to the pc.

Works great. Stable connection and great speed consistency. Size is a big plus. I've used other adapters that had a larger profile, and they ended up breaking, when adjusting my pc, because of their inconvenient size. This does the trick.

Downloaded the driver per included instructions and given an error about not working with my OS, which is Windows 11 and up to date. Then after going to the Asus website and looking for drivers there got it to work, However the fastest speed it ever reached was 211Mbps over 5GHz wifi ax with 1Gig internet. My internal Wifi ac adapter reaches over 900Mbps no problem. Really disappointed, such a promising product that simply didn't deliver.

I should have read the reviews on this one. It's about half as fast as my Netgear WNDA1400 adapter which was N.
My router is AC but I had planned to upgrade it to WIFI 6e. However, I only got download speeds at 82MBPS. With the old Netgear it was 169.
