This is a sweet unit. The smaller screen and unit is the size of a book while the next model up is laptop size. Or Air size. I was a little bummed at the 16GB they give you, which is really 9GB of space for you. Wish they told you that up front. I ended up returning it because I wanted a lighted keyboard, and one evening in low light was enough to make me trade it in. I opted for the larger 302 with more space. This was on sale and it's a great buy, and if it had a lighted keyboard I would be fine with it. If you are not picky about the lighted keyboard then grab it.

I have several chromebooks including the Asus Flip C101PA but I have found that I spend more time using the Asus Flip then the others. The Asus Flip C101PA is the smallest (10.1 inch screen) and lightest 2 in 1 touch screen chromebook ( 2 lbs.) I currently know of. The Flip is not the fastest chromebook I have, or have the largest disk drive. It is the lightest, and has the longest battery life of the chromebooks I own (between 10 and 12 hours depending on what I am doing with it).
The Asus Flip gets used on my lap in the living room for example while the TV is on to read and respond to email, for online search, shopping and other casual activity. The Flip because of its size, weight, battery life, and smooth operation in the mobile mode is a pleasure to use.
I enjoy using the Asus Flip C101PA Chromebook because of its convenience and recommend it to my family and friends.

ChromeOS still needs work

On paper, this was perfect for me. Nice chromebook, able to be used as a tablet, Google Play store, microSD slot. And it was amazing for about an hour. Then I realized that the apps from the Google Play store did not recognize the SD card, only the chromeOS could. And with only 16gb of internal memory (much less after accounting for the OS) this was a definite deal breaker for my use case. Maybe if there's an update to allow play store apps access to the sd card, it would go back to being perfect, but until then I'm sticking with my cheapo Fire HD10. If you don't care about that and just want a rock solid chromebook, this one is great.

Nice small size Chromebook, I bought it because I wanted a smaller computer to carry around in my backpack instead of my MacBook. Not terribly powerful, but I use it to edit photographs after I’ve taken them and there are some good apps that work off-line. Does a good job for that.
Biggest complaint it does not have a back lit keyboad.

I was looking for a replacement for my aging Android tablet and had been wanting to try a Chromebook, preferably one with USB type C. The C101 has a screen that rotates fully, has metal construction, and USB type C as well, so it was really the ideal option for my criteria. The battery life is excellent as well; with moderate use you can probably get 10-12 hours based on the little I've used it so far.
I like almost everything about it, but if you've ever used a 2-in-1 in tablet mode, then you know that having the keys on the bottom takes some getting used to. Also the performance is on par with most other sub-$300 Chromebooks, but I do notice an ever-so-slight slow down when I have several tabs/apps running. I would have liked a 1080p display, but honestly I don't notice the lack of resolution when using it.
Even so, for the price this is the best Chromebook you're likely to find. Some may prefer the step-up model, the C302, but it's nearly twice the cost and for me wouldn't provide that much more value. For casual use I would definitely recommend the C101, it doesn't cost much more now than a Chromebook with lesser specs or lower quality materials.

I absolutely love my laptop. It’s perfect in size, it’s not to small and it’s very lightweight. It’s very fast, I have never had an issue with it being slow and I have had it for about a year now. Everyone is always asking where I got it from. I love how it can be used as a laptop or even a tablet, but one concern is that when it’s on tablet mode, it actually does not let me type it on the touchscreen, I would have to turn it back to type it from the keyboard. One other issue I would say I had, was not being able to get full access of Microsoft offices apps. I tried downloading the apps and it would only let me get the basic use. Even though the basic use is all someone needs if they are just writing papers or essays. Honestly, this issue doesn’t bothered me but If you need the full access to Microsoft office or any other Microsoft app, then this computer isn’t for you. Other than that, I would definitely recommend laptop.

This chromebook is a great size with an improved screen over the previous version. It’s sound is good and performance is on par with a pricier chromebook. But be aware that Chrone OS is a limited operating system. A plus is being able to insert a microsd card to store media. If you can live within a browser and a 10inch screen then this is a good buy

The ASUS Chromebook C101PA Flip is a very small Chromebook, but it gets the job done, thanks to Google Chrome OS. I read a lot of reviews about this laptop before purchasing it and so I did take my chances on getting one that would have startup issues. Luckily, I didn't. I agree with many of the critics out there that stated the bezels on this Chromebook are HUGE. And yes, the small pixel ratio of the display makes things look blown up. It's definitely not a Google Pixelbook, but I guess you get what you pay for. However, I am very happy with the design, weight, and overall work it does. The one drawback I notice is that since it's a 10.1" frame, the palm rests are much shallower than my previous 11.1" Chromebook. Your palms will get sore after a short while because it rests on the edge of the laptop and table surface. In terms of speed, with 4GB of RAM, everything runs smooth, even with a lot of tabs opened in Chrome.

Because of a small size I can throw it into a suitcase and take it with me anywhere. The keyboard is perfect and it is very sturdy. It has plenty of speed for a Chromebook.

I love this little thing! It does just what I need and is portable enough to take with me when I house sit or go on vacation. I've already given away my large ASUS laptop to my sis. When I realized that everything I do (email to lists or labels ), read and send emails, update Calendar etc. is all done on line anyway it became practical to have a Chromebook. It's sturdy, portable and efficient. I love the touch screen as I can do everything faster by pokin' at it! I've always had good luck with ASUS products. For the price (I got it on sale) you can't go wrong!

Can't go wrong on a Chromebook built by ASUS standards. My son uses this chromebook on memory hungry apps and they all run smoothly. The size and weight of this chromebook is perfect for home and on the home. highly recommended!

Don't buy if you intend to use Outlook or Dropbox.

My university email is provided by Microsoft, and it is very cumbersome to check email unless we use Outlook application. In this Asus Chromebook, I have a problem scrolling emails when I use a computer mouse, and as a result I can view the first page of emails only. This is a big problem for me, and I had to return the product.
If you use Dropbox, then you can download an app but it does not work very at all. In particular, if you have excel or word files it always takes two clicks to open a file -- to be fair, iPad also has the same issue.
If you don't use Outlook or Dropbox, I think this may be a good choice for you.
Not surprisingly, Chrome browser works flawlessly and does not seem to impact battery life as much as it does in Windows or Mac laptops. If your intended usage of this device is to surf the web using Chrome browser, this can be a very good choice.
Otherwise, I recommend you to get a Windows laptop instead. There are many similar Windows counterparts made by Asus which are priced similar to Chromebooks under $250 on BestBuy.com
