I have Router OCD I guess.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fast router. It's future proof. It has features to speed up your gaming traffic. I went through a few routers and ultimately I went back to the Netgear Nighthawk XR5400 because with that router, I can control what gaming servers I connect to to get lower pings. With this router I got around 60 ping. With the Netgear router I got around 30 ping. First person shooter games are just more enjoyable with lower ping. Although setting up the Netgear routers seem to be a pain. If you're not so much into first person shooter games then this is a great all around router for the home. I will say nothing in my home was advanced enough to connect to the 6G band on this router. I'm probably going to get cut off on returns at Best Buy because I think I went through five routers. It's just that a router is the backbone of everything in the house now days and it's something you're going to be stuck with for a few years.

Super stable and also super unstable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do love this router. But. I upgraded from another ASUS flagship that I had been using since 2016 or so. That worked well, but it would lose my entire network and needed a reboot. A weekly reboot schedule on that worked. Until end of last year when it just plain stopped working and wouldn’t post anything. I ran out and got this axe11000, happy to have an excuse to upgrade. It set up easily and I really like the ASUS app. I stuck with ASUS because reboot aside the old router was great for me. Also randomly the old router started working perfectly again a week later but we decided in these times it’s critical to have a backup router for work lying around. So. I have 33 devices or so on my network including an ai server that is always up for a project smartphone app that people randomly use 24/7. So, I was happy to not have the 3-5 minute weekly downtime on the weekly reboots of the old router. However. After a couple of months, this router also will drop all connections completely until it is rebooted, every ten days or so. We do the usual. Watch movies streaming. Internet. Video chats. Robovac Alexa thermostat usual out stuff. So now I have set it up for a weekly reboot. It is faster than before and streaming is much more stable. I’m super happy with that. But, all I’ve really done for my server is reduce the weekly downtime from three minutes to one minute. Otherwise this is a great router and if not for my 24/7 server I say 99.9999% of you will be thrilled with a weekly reboot, to keep it running tip top. But I seem to need to try my luck with the new axe16000 and hope the new chipset, 2ghz slight speed bump and 2GB ram will make it super stable like I want. I am for sure being super critical, and I am super grateful for the dynamic dns that ASUS makes available to tinkerers like myself. I know I am expecting enterprise level performance from a gaming router. So keep that in mind. This router is freaking awesome. Rock solid when stable. However, it will go completely to zero every couple of weeks unless you reboot.

You Choose SECURITY or PERFORMANCE?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will Rather choose SECURITY. Performance is good, but not that great. When you buy something now days you should extremely look for security in a product, since there are lot of hacking these days. You should read and ask the company who sale the product about that. SECURITY FIXED in 2021 1. FTP WAN Exposure FIXED!! But need FTPS and FTP for each clients. 2. WAN DNS security FIXED!! Need a lot More Improvement SECURITY NOT FIXED since 2005 or before 1. SMB V1 (Very Old) to SMB V3 (New) 2. Administrator password too SHORT. 3. Aicloud features and SECURITY NOT update Since 2005 or before. 4. OpenVPN Security should be update Regularly. 5. Do NOT mention OS Version. It always run on a old OS. A Serious security concern. 6. All UPCOMING NEW Routers comes with all of these BAD thing. PERFORMANCE and UPDATES 1. Every 4-7 Month updates 2. Does Not Update its Features at all. 3. Very Good Hardware Running on a VERY Old OS. 4. USB Port Extremely SLOW. Write Speed 1.2mb/second. That is Horrible! 5. NO USB-C connectivity 6. SUPER BASIC firewall. NO Features Provided 7. Can NOT Block HTTPS. 8. All UPCOMING NEW Routers comes with all of these BAD thing. 9. PRICE is TOO HIGH for all the comments provided in this review.

Solid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price you should expect no less. Antennae are an improvement over prior model ASUS router, which is a big win. No complains for coverage even across the house in other rooms. Set up and advanced settings were a breeze.

Bulky, Pricey and Not Ready for Prime Time!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all this router is massive with 8 giant antennas. Definitely not an eye pleaser. Looks like a robotic spider. If you’re Into aesthetics then this is not your choice of router. Besides there looks the ROG GT-AXE11000 disappoints in other areas as well. While the settings offer many options - most of them are confusing to the average consumer. Asus tends to release firmware that fixes one issue but breaks one or a few more. This seems to be the trend with most of their routers that I have owned in recent years. I did get my advertised ISP speeds with this router but unfortunately it was not very consistent. Moving 20 feet away from the router caused a lot of fluctuations. Also range is nothing to write about either. Very average and disappointing considering this is a $550 router. And the web gui is absolutely horrid looking. Looks like something for a teenage kid. Ugly, cluttered and an eye sore. My Apple devices often disconnected for no reason. I performed multiple factory resets to no avail. Also I have about 25 IoT devices around my house and it was a really struggle to keep them connected/responding with this router - especially my Arlo security cameras who kept going offline. I really tried and wanted to like this router. I loved the RBG color-changing logo on the top. None added touch. However speed and performance were not there. Ended up returning the ROG AXE11000 and’s picked up the Netgear Nighthawk RAXE500 and I’ve been very pleased this far (read my review on that product page). No reboots, no disconnects, excellent range throughout my entire house and to the garage and all my Apple and IoT devices are performing as expected. While Wi-Fi 6E routers are still in their infancy and not many 6E devices are available in the market today, I wanted to future-proof my router selection but it was very costly and I can’t say at this moment that any of these 6E routers justify their price point.

Junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's quick, it has range, but it's connection reliability is almost zero. It's so bad that my Xbox is wired in and it disconnects and I have to fiddle with the connection for 15 minutes at a time. Laptops take 5+ minutes to connect and constantly drop signal. We have wifi5 and wifi6 laptops and both had issues. I was so frustrated that when I had to go flip over the router and write down the serial number before support would even talk to me, I was ready to throw it out the window. Connection issues even with support. Do a hard pass and save yourself $550 headache.

Asus gt axe11000
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router will not achieve 2.5gigabit! I have an Asus Z690 E Gaming motherboard with 2.5gigabit in my pc connected to this router. I have a SanDisk G Drive pro connected to the usb3.2 port for a simple media server. When transferring a file from my pc to the external hdd I cant get a speed faster than 60-70mb/s. Whatscstrange is my Asus ax82u gives me pretty much the same speed and that over a 1gigabit connection. I have a replacement coming since Asus tech support never did call me to help with this issue. At least I have until November 4th to return it. $550 +tax for not performance upgrade from my ax82u! Thanks.

Posted .Dear Joesal,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand your concern regarding the issue with the router unable to connect at 2.5Ghgabit speed.
To resolve the issue, Please verify if the ISP's modem fully meets the system requirements of the router. Also, please verify if your ISP(Internet Service Porvider) can support a 2.5 Gigabits bandwidth. If your ISP does support the band, contact them in order to verify if everything was configured properly from their end. Also, please check if the modem is working properly and the router is running with the most current firmware version.
Should you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you can speak to an ASUS live support agent 24/7 at http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.
