Good motherboard but a bit overpriced

This is a good motherboard, but compared to the competition, it is a little overpriced. However that being said, it has a ton of great feature. It has a plethora of usb ports. It has 2.0, 3.0, and 3.2 ports. It even has a type c port. This motherboard has a lot of heatsinks for the VRMs, the m.2 ports, as well as the chipset. The PCIe x16 ports are very well reinforced so even with a massive gpu, you don't have to worry about flex. I didn't even have to install my 3070's included brace. The wifi is excellent as well, no issues there. I would give this a five star, but the cpu socket does not have built in mounting.

This mobo is amazing I’m never skimping on motherboards ever again I put a 10700k in this with a EVGA rtx 3090 Ftw 3 and it gets 40-50 FPS more in game then my amd setup was doing which I was very disappointed in I used this mobo and 10700k to swap out with my 3900xt and asus x570 gaming e and wow just wow I’m sticking with Intel forever now and never going to be cheap with motherboards ever again

The overclocking possibilities are ends with this extreme tweaking monster of a board! I originally wanted to use the ASUS Strix, but when I did purchase that the drivers were all bad and it wouldn’t work!
This board worked as they all should. High end board and at just the right price!

Great price point for all of the Top end features. and VS. the "god like" versions of MSI etc. This is right there for uber end users (heavy 3D dev. CAD/REVIT/SketchUp and of course serious KF-cpu gamers) just kills it with overclocking and all of the fine tuning voltage and bios detailing one can do with this motherboard. ASUS done right!

This MOBO is a beast. But you can basically always assume fantastic quality when it comes to Asus. That's really all that needs to be said. I'll never be cheap about buying motherboards again after trying out this high end board. My PC runs beautifully.

Very good board. Expensive, worth the money if you're already thinking about spending $300 on a lower board. I loved all the features especially the error codes when things aren't plugged in or having issues. The board troubleshoots itself, very big. Be careful about the size of your case.

If you’re looking in this price bracket, you know what you’re getting into. This is not a budget option, it is built to be a quality unit with a lot of features. Overall, very pleased, but you need to be aware of some details before you buy.
This board is set up to be overclocked, however from the factory, it obeys all limits imposed by Intel. Some other boards already unlock those limits and make their boards look faster, but it’s only because some are overclocked without your knowledge. This is set to factory limits to start. However, once you open bios and start changing settings, it is easy to overclock and is just as fast (and in many situations more efficient) as others.
Pros:
VRMs are very cool operating
High quality assembly and solder
Lots of fan and aRGB headers if you need it
Set up for water cooling with separate pump controls and temp sensors
Bios control for everything for great overclock
Bios has an AI overclock that isn’t bad!
RGB (controlled by Aura) isn’t over done
HDMI output so you can use a monitor without GPU if you need to (trouble shoot, etc)
Plenty of USB
WiFi is good
Cons:
Price
Factory defaults observe all limits
Manual is not well written
AI overclock should have its own benchmark/stress test to make it even more accurate
Overall excellent board from Asus

Cost is high but it's in stock. Good board all around. Pcb looks sturdy. The usb 3.1 slot is not sturdy. Be gentle with it. Putting in the processor sounded like scraping a chalkboard it was so tight to close. Documents were above average. Its pretty. It was the best I could afford and find in stock not waiting weeks to arrive. I paid just under 400 bucks probably should be a 300 dollar model but it was in stock. Could use more fan headers most cases have 3 upfront one or two in back and some up top, basically 3 case headers. 2 CPU and then the water cooling stuff. I'm not a fan of liquid cooling and will never choose it but it's there. I have a big noctua on a 10900 no problems. Rgb synchs via software with corsair case. Wifi works great. No issues setting up but beware of the bios it is full of stuff and read what your doing. Setting up uefi for windows install was a learning curve for me but I'm new to asus. 4 outa 5 because of the connectors, cost and could use more fan headers.

Normally, I wouldn't go past $200-300 spending on an motherboard since most motherboards give you all the features you typically need, but given what Best Buy currently has to offer on Asus motherboards, I decided to go with this one. It's definitely pricey, and you will notice the price increase from the previous iteration of this motherboard ($289.99 from Best Buy).
However, I don't regret my purchase. I paired it with the i9 10900k, Noctua DH-15 CPU cooler, 2x32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz ram, Nvidia RTX 2080 Super FE and two Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSDs without any problems.
You're definitely paying for what you get. This motherboard has great aesthetic features and as always from ASUS, an amazing BIOS. When powered on, it has two RGB lighting - one near the I/O port area and one near the m.2 slots. It also has a nice red BIOs code on the top right corner of the motherboard. The manual will have a code reference that tell you what's going on with your motherboard. This motherboard also has 3 m.2 slots, 6 SATA 6GB ports, bluetooth features, 8 fan headers and many other nice features.
There are several things you need to keep in mind when going with this motherboard:
-According to the manual, if you use one of the m.2 slots, one or two certain certain SATA ports WILL be become unusable.
-The little fan that is in the package is not really needed at all if you've got a decent cooling setup. It is designed for VRM cooling, but again, it's not needed even tech YouTubers will say this.
-A couple of the fan headers are designated for AIO(liquid cooling). However, you can safely use these fan headers just for air cooling. The manual will also tell you the same thing.
-If you have a Thermaltake X71 TG case like mine, the preinstalled standoffs will not fit all the holes with this motherboard. You can only screw in 6 out of the 9 holes. The top part of the motherboard is the only area I haven't been able to screw in. After reading through online and consulting one of my IT friends, this is definitely safe to use as long you secure enough of the standoffs, tighten down the screws and NOT have the motherboard touch the metal part of the case.

This is a solidly built board. It will run an i9 10850K or 10900K with no issue. Wi-Fi 6 is quiet fast if you're on a Wi-Fi 6 network. The Logo an other lightly can be easily controlled in the Armoury Crate App (which sometimes can be finnicky). The board has a very nice appearance. There are an ample supply of USB ports. The board overclocked by 10850K to 4.9 GHz without issue.

Fantastic motherboard. It loves the 10900K that it's mated to. Runs stable overclocks without even sweating. The RGB is lacking though but it's not like that a massive feature... lets just say it's pretty dim on my board. Only thing is I had to use a 3rd party thermal pad for the m.2 to keep temps down there especially near the 1st PCIe slot up top.

It's been at least 12 years since i assembled a pc. This was my latest attempt to build a gaming PC for my girls turning 16. The winner was ASUS ROG series. Picked this maximus xii wifi board to go with i9 10 core intel chip as per all expert advice and review I read so far.
The board is far superior built and is also got a lot of fail proof /debugging onboard interface to make sure the pc and components work and can be easily troubleshoot.
The board instruction manual is easy to read and well illustrated. Just got these all assembled with very little hiccups. Really impressive so far. Will post more details after full testing with games wifi loaded etc.

This is by far the best bang for your buck LGA1200 motherboard Best Buy keeps stocked on their shelves. It has all the features you could want as well as great overocking ability. The MSI board is also a good choice as well as the asus z490 e. There’s little reason to go too far over this price point especially if you can pick it up on sale or for a good price match.
