    Nice laptop, solid!

I bought this laptop to support my graphics business. It is well made and a solid machine. Why 4 stars, I need a laptop that has compatibility with average docking stations and the ability to charge that battery from a USB C. Unfortunately, this computer uses a proprietary power supply, and I would have to use that, plus a USB C connection to a docking station. This was not a viable option, especially for travel. I did return the laptop, but if you don't have an issue with the docking station and power supply, well it is a sweet machine.

I have been looking for something as my daily driver, and i just recently got in to editing videos. I was not sure which machine to go with. I have to admit this is laptop is lightning fast i mean video rendering is extremely quick was not expecting this from a laptop. Sound is amazing, display is beautiful (i wish it was little brighter) built in control wheel works flawlessly.

Laptop is top notch. Only buy in store or somewhere other than Best Buy. Would be nice to actually receive the item. Second time ordering ship to home and second time product never arrived from Best Buy. Zero updates from Best Buy, tracking stalled since day 1, except agent said can ‘definitely ensure arrival’ if you wait another week or so. Why can you not definitely ensure delivery when purchase?

Unboxing and First Impressions Right out of the box, the ProArt P16 feels like a serious piece of hardware. The packaging is minimal and clean, and the laptop itself looks sharp in its matte Nano Black finish. It has that professional aesthetic—sleek, subtle branding, and solid build quality with just a hint of flair in the ProArt badge on the lid. Inside the box, you get the laptop, a 200W power brick (which is surprisingly slim), and a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. No bloat, just the essentials. Setup and Driver Download Initial setup was fast, but I did run into Wi-Fi issues right out of the gate. It connected to my network, but speeds were inconsistent and flaky. Once I downloaded and installed all the official ASUS drivers from their support site, everything leveled out. Wi-Fi was completely stable after that, and performance across the board felt a lot smoother—definitely something to knock out early if you pick one up. After installing the latest Windows updates and drivers, Copilot+ features activated properly, and the laptop began to feel more responsive with AI integrations in place. Display and Touch Experience The 4K OLED touchscreen is the star of the show. It’s ultra-sharp, color-accurate, and bright enough for just about any indoor setting. The gloss finish can pick up some reflections, but the quality makes up for it. This screen is Pantone-validated and aimed at creators, and it shows—blacks are true black, and colors pop. It’s only a 60Hz panel, which I definitely noticed coming from high refresh rate screens. For content creation, photo work, or browsing, it’s not a dealbreaker. Scrolling feels just fine, but it’s not buttery like 120Hz or 144Hz panels. If you’re used to fast screens, you’ll pick up on it, but it’s not bad—just something to be aware of. The touchscreen itself is responsive and accurate. I found it helpful for timeline scrubbing in Premiere Pro, quick edits, and even just pinch-to-zoom while browsing. Keyboard, Trackpad, and Design The keyboard feels excellent—there’s good travel, spacing is tight but not cramped, and it’s comfortable for long typing sessions. The backlighting is clean and even, and the keys have a nice tactile response without being loud. The trackpad is massive, smooth, and very responsive. I also appreciate the extra inputs like the ProArt Dial integration on some apps—it’s subtle, but helpful in editing workflows. ASUS AI Apps: StoryCube and MuseTree Two apps come preloaded: StoryCube and MuseTree, part of ASUS’s new AI creative suite. • StoryCube uses AI to organize and tag media. I imported some RAW photos and short videos, and it grouped and tagged everything surprisingly well—faces, locations, and even objects. It’s a smart tool for quick organization, especially if you’re working with tons of media. • MuseTree is more experimental. It’s basically a brainstorming app that uses generative AI to help you create visual mood boards, story ideas, or even content structure. It’s clearly aimed at creators, and while it’s not essential, it’s fun to play around with—especially for early planning or conceptual work. Performance and Content Creation With the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 32GB RAM, and the RTX 5070, the ProArt P16 handles creative workloads without breaking a sweat. I ran Lightroom, Photoshop, and DaVinci Resolve all in the same day and had zero slowdowns. Exports were fast, multitasking was effortless, and the fans stayed quiet during most of my editing. Rendering 4K footage or working on large image sets was no problem. This machine clearly isn’t just about specs—it’s optimized for real-world creator use. Light Gaming and Browsing This is not a gaming laptop, and ASUS doesn’t pretend it is. That said, the RTX 5070 is still very capable. I was able to run games like Genshin Impact, Fortnite, and Valorant on medium to high settings at 1440p with playable frame rates. Don’t expect maxed-out ray tracing or ultra-high FPS, but for casual or lighter gaming, it handles things better than I expected. For everyday use—web browsing, streaming, multitasking—it’s excellent. No stutter, no lag, even with dozens of Chrome tabs and some background creative apps running. The fan noise stays low unless you’re pushing it hard. Battery Life Battery life is solid. I got around 9 to 10 hours on average with mixed use—browsing, content writing, light editing, and occasional video playback. Under heavier creative workloads or light gaming, that drops closer to 5–6 hours, which is still respectable for this kind of hardware. Fast charging is a nice bonus—it can go from about 20% to 70% in just over half an hour. Final Thoughts The ASUS ProArt P16 is clearly built for creators who want a powerful, well-designed machine with a beautiful screen and real performance—not just flashy specs. The 4K OLED display, AI tools, and reliable finger-friendly touchscreen make it a strong companion for visual work. Add in solid battery life and a fantastic keyboard, and you’ve got a real creative workstation in a portable package. The 60Hz refresh rate is the only area that might give some pause, but it’s totally workable for the target audience. If you’re looking for a content-first laptop that can handle some gaming on the side and doesn’t compromise on screen quality or design, this one absolutely fits the bill.

The laptop isn’t as amazing as you would think for $2.5k. The shell is easily damaged, and prints stains the outside, as well as the tracking pad. It gets incredibly hot regardless of what you do, so it makes you ask the question, “why do my fans sound like a jet engine?” My poor experience with this laptop regards much more to the incredibly grotesque customer service of BestBuy. My laptop did not arrive exactly when described, and thus I was out on a trip. When I returned and unpackaged, I discovered a large dent on the surface of the laptop. BestBuy refused to help me in anyway even though it had occurred and been BEFORE their “2 week support claim,” because I had not spent a useless amount of money on a protection plan that clearly would have done nothing, as they won’t even help me with a product that was shipped damaged. I spoke to ASUS about this and they even sent referrals to BestBuy about replacing this and they still refused. I was hung up on and never called back multiple times from BestBuy because the agents don’t have basic people skills.

Asus has produced a nearly perfect laptop for creative types. Nearly. There is so much to enjoy and applaud with this machine. Yes, there are laptops out there powerful enough to run intense graphics and video programs, and render videos just as quick as the ProArt. Sure, you can find competing devices with equal or better specs. So what makes this laptop so special? The design! It is clearly obvious the Asus design team didn't just craft a laptop based around specs alone, but were thoughtful in what creators need, and how to improve the user experience. Right out of the box you immediately see the quality. This laptop is not only well designed, but the build quality is absolutely premium all the way around. The coloring is beautiful with a finish that screams high-end and has proven to resist fingerprints. Opening the lid you can feel the sturdiness of the hinge which allows the screen to stay exactly where it is placed. The feel of the chassis is solid but comfortable, with rounded corners that add to the comfortability and aesthetic. This is one gorgeous device. Absolutely nothing about this machine is cheaply made or assembled. The included 200W charger is nice, and you will definitely need it. First, because using my 100W USB-C charger made the ProArt laught at me and display a notification I was using a "slow charger". Secondly, the battery life isn't what I would consider stellar. To be fair, when using for simple tasks like email, web browsing, or drafting documents the batter does just fine. It's really only when you begin doing anything that requires a bit more system resources that you will see the battery drain increase significantly. Minus 1/2 a star. Ports - there are plenty. You can see in the device description the included ports. Definitely the right combination and types for content creation. Once powered up you are met with the beauty that is the 16" 4K 3840x2400 AMOLED display. This display is crisp, clear, and color accurate. Thin side bezels and moderate upper and lower bezels allow for more use of the screen real estate. Working with visual media is a joy. However, the refresh rate is only 60Hz, and the peak nits are 500. I definitely would like to have seen at least a 120Hz refresh rate with a slightly higher brightness. Minus 1/2 a star. The keyboard is a pleasure to type on. The key travel is minimal and man oh man is it quiet. Probably the least noise producing keyboard I've ever used. It has been really quite comfortable to use. Responsive keys that are accurate and have produced zero "double typing". The adjustable backlighting makes the keyboard easily visible in dimly lit environments. The massive trackpad is smooth and responsive, and includes a little feature Asus calls DialPad. This is a little gem that is customizable and allows users to utilize so many tools right from their fingertips. Scrubbing through videos, tool selection, and so much more. You have to experience it to understand just how useful this little circle on the trackpad really is. I will save you all the specs in this review. You can see those in the description and with this available in different configurations your mileage may differ. My particular machine is running with 32GB RAM and a 2TB SSD. The drive write speeds are fast and I've not experienced any hiccups. If I want more storage the SSD is upgradeable and there is an expansion slot. The 32GB of RAM has proven to handle everything I've thrown at it pretty well. When rendering a video, while editing some photos, and two instances of Chrome running with 30 tabs open I pushed it to nearly 30GB of RAM being utilized, but it handled it. And hey, if I want more RAM - well I'm out of luck. Unfortunately the RAM is not upgradeable. Minus 1/2 a star. The internal cooling system does a good job of thermal regulation. Under significant load you can feel the "hot spots", but not to the point of being uncomfortable. I've not experienced any thermal throttling. Connectivity with WiFi 7 and Bluetooth have been solid. No dropped connections or devices. Asus has included creator software, StoryCube and MuseTree. StoryCube, as described by Asus, is a Smart Media Hub that stores your uploaded and imported media files. The real genius is in the AI Album which can sort by person, scene types, and other AI powered recognition, allowing you to search by just about any parameter you can dream up. Soooo helpful when working on content creation and can't exactly recall the file name. MuseTree? Well, it remains a mystery to me. It is supposed to be an AI content creation program with some great features. However, I could never get it to load. I think this is an issue on my device and not a wide spread issue. Upon launching the program said there was an update available. It performed the update, restarted, and took me to the terms, condition, and user agreement screen. I agree to all the terms and then I receive a startup screen that says Welcome to Muse Tree 0%. And that's where the screen stays. Even killing and restarting the program I go through all the same steps and end up at the same screen. I even left it on overnight thinking maybe the initial startup is just being slow, but nope, no luck. So, unfortunately I've not been able to use MuseTree. Overall I am really quite impressed and happy with this Asus ProArt 16. Yes I took a few half stars off, but this machine is easily a very solid 4/5. It is more than capable of handling content creation use cases, is premium quality, and is a pleasure to use. With zero hesitation I would recommend this device to friends, family, or anyone willing to listen.

I’ve had the chance to use the new ASUS ProArt P16 for two weeks now, and it’s a major improvement in the laptop space for content creators and power users. ASUS continues to prove why they’re at the top of the PC space, combining performance with design to create a nearly perfect mobile workstation. This laptop isn’t just a minor update as it’s a major step up from traditional laptops. Right when you unbox it, you get that premium ASUS experience. The nano black finish is a welcome change that`s sleek and professional, giving it that overall premium appearance. I'm so glad to be done with the gaudy colorways and RGB lights. The subtle ProArt logo is a nice touch, further building on that premium aesthetic. The hinge feels incredibly smooth and sturdy, a small detail that makes a huge difference when you're constantly opening and closing the device. The overall build quality feels exceptionally robust. It's clear this laptop is built for creators on the go and not just for sitting on a desk. Once you power it on the 4K OLED touchscreen immediately stands out. The colors are incredibly vibrant, the blacks are true and deep, and the 500 nits of brightness makes it perfect for any lighting condition. For any creative professional, this display is a must have for color accurate work. Another standout feature is the variety of ports. The dongle phase has been rather annoying and it feels like ASUS has realized that and in turn they have included everything you need, from USB-A and USB-C to an HDMI port and an SD card reader, all while keeping the laptop thin to avoid that bulky gaming laptop build style. Performance is where the new model truly shines. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 and 2TB SSD are absolute powerhouses. I've thrown everything I can at it these past two weeks from complex 4K video edits, multi-layered Photoshop projects, and even some demanding 3D rendering and it handled it all without a hint of lag. The cooling system, with its triple-fan and hidden air outlet design is extremely effective. It keeps the laptop cool to the touch even during heavy workloads, which is great for those longer work sessions. The improved cooling performance and faster GPU make rendering and video encoding feel much snappier than previous laptops I have used. Of course in 2025 a creator focused laptop is going to come with integrated AI features where I will say that ASUS has actually included some useful features here. First the inclusion of the dedicated AI chip is much appreciated to ensure these tools didn’t slow down my other tasks. On the hardware side, the ASUS DialPad remains a great tool for speeding up workflow in applications like Photoshop and Premiere Pro, and has been especially useful for making precise adjustments quickly. On the software side, the included ASUS AI apps are where you notice the true difference. StoryCube has completely changed my file management. It uses AI to automatically sort my library of photos and videos from different devices, categorizing them by faces and scenes. At first I was extremely skeptical, but it has worked without nearly any hiccups. It can even auto generate highlight videos which I`ve used a couple times on some quick projects. MuseTree is more on the creative side where I have used this app less often, but I will say it has been useful when I have used it. Essentially though it allows you to input keywords or even a simple sketch and the AI will expand on the idea to generate more dynamic images. Overall, this new ProArt P16 is an exceptional laptop that’s been meticulously created for creators and power users. The upgrades to the GPU and storage while maintaining the sleek and professional aesthetic, combined with the incredibly useful AI software and robust build quality, make this laptop perfect for any serious content creator or power user and I would not hesitate to recommend it!

Not sure what it is, but this computer freezes, glitches and lags out constantly. I was just using CapCut editing a video and just had Microsoft bing running. I’ve been using the ASUS ProArt P16 for about a week now and I gotta say this thing is a beast! First off, the setup was pretty smooth. It took about 30 minutes to update everything, all the drivers were already there so I didn’t really have to go digging for anything. The laptop itself feels solid, like it’s built to last, no flex, no cheap feeling parts, and it definitely looks cool too. It is all black with a matte finish but there is a downside. It’s a total fingerprint magnet. You look at it wrong and it smudges. You’re gonna be wiping it down constantly if that bothers you. The OLED screen is absolutely hands down the best I’ve ever seen on a laptop. Watching 4K videos on YouTube and Netflix looked insane. Colors look great, everything is really sharp, and the touchscreen is super responsive too. I also dove into the AI ASUS apps and what really surprised me was how much better it made the AI Generated Muse Tree content. I feel like the screen makes it easier to spot minor details that when corrected really solidifies the image you're trying to capture or portray. As far as performance, I tried testing it in various ways. I had Premiere running a 4K timeline, multiple drone clips stacked, effects layered on top, 15 Chrome tabs open, YouTube playing in the background. I guess the 32 gigs of RAM really show here. I also played Red Dead Redemption 2 on it and ran the benchmark and got an average of around 41 FPS on high settings, maxed out around 67 FPS so it handled it like a really well. The fans spun up but didn’t get obnoxiously loud with temps staying around 70–72 degrees. There’s also this little circle in the top left corner of the trackpad that I didn’t notice at first but once I figured it out, it was actually pretty awesome!. If you swipe down diagonally from the top right corner, it activates this scroll-wheel looking overlay that I found ASUS calls it the DialPad. And depending on the app you're in, it just knows what to do. Like on YouTube, I could fast forward or change playback speed. In MuseTree, it let me zoom in or change the pen size. In File Explorer, I could rotate through tabs. It sounds like a gimmick but it’s actually useful once you mess with it for a bit. There are 2 ASUS AI apps that are front and center of this laptop and they are StoryCube and Muse Tree. The first one StoryCube kind of reminded me of Google photos to be honest. It's supposed to help you organize photos and videos and auto generate little memory videos or albums which is cool but nothing entirely new. When I first booted it up and uploaded some photos onto it and went to the AI Album, I could see that it had created albums in relation to what the photo depicted but it wasn't entirely accurate. There was an instance where the album was titled kids but there were no kids in the photos. The only photo it contained was the one it showed on the album cover which depicted my wife, myself, and our dog. The app does do a really great job at identifying people so once you attach a name to that person it identified you can create or open albums dedicated to specific people. You also have the option to create memories or have them auto generate based on similar scenes that you have in your photo collection. This is cool because you can create a small montage of pictures with a backing track and send it to someone for a birthday or anniversary and it would be pretty special. Overall, I did find use for StoryCube and look forward to continuing to explore it to see how it differentiates from its competitors. The second AI App MuseTree was a mixed bag. At first I thought it was just a brainstorming tool but then I tried the sketch feature on idea canvas mode where you draw something and describe it and it generates an image from your drawing which was actually pretty cool despite me being a terrible sketch artist. I drew a character with wild hair and arms raised and it gave me a full cartoon supervillain looking guy, like something out of Captain Underpants. I also tried some more artistic prompts like a golden retriever on a doghouse in the wood but it wasn't a game changer for me. At least not until I learn to understand the capabilities a bit more. I messed around with it and had some woah that's cool moments but it’s not quite as captivating to me yet. I feel like you can do so much on other AI platforms that this one seems a little out of place. I will keep using it to unlock its full potential especially within the idea canvas portion of the app. Battery life was about what I expected for a high performance laptop. I was able to get like 3 to 4 hours during heavier use, maybe 5 or 6 on light stuff. The OLED screen and GPU are probably draining it faster than most ultrabooks but that’s the tradeoff when you have this much power. I wouldn’t call it bad but don’t expect all day battery life and you'll probably want to be near a charger if you're working off local storage. Overall, I really like this laptop. I feel like it is great all around especially for content creators. The screen is unreal. The power is there. The DialPad is a nice surprise. AI tools are hit or miss, but they’re interesting enough to keep around and maybe they’ll get better with updates. If you’re a content creator or just want a machine that can handle serious multitasking without breaking a sweat, this thing is solid. Just be ready to wipe it down constantly.

I’ve been testing the ASUS ProArt P16 for a week, and I can honestly say this laptop is built with creators in mind. The 16” 4K OLED touchscreen is absolutely stunning — colors are rich and accurate, making photo editing and video work a pleasure. It’s also bright enough to use in a well-lit room without any issues. Performance-wise, it’s been smooth and fast for everything I’ve thrown at it, from editing high-res photos to casual internet browsing. I spent a good amount of time using StoryCube and MuseTree, and I was pleasantly surprised by how useful they are. StoryCube makes organizing and tagging media a lot easier than my usual workflow, and MuseTree is a fun way to brainstorm and flesh out creative ideas. For productivity, I love the comfortable keyboard and responsive touchpad. The touchscreen adds a nice level of flexibility, especially for quick sketching or marking up content. Battery life has been decent — not all-day for heavy use, but enough to get through a good work session. If I had to nitpick, it’s a little on the heavier side compared to some other laptops I’ve used, and the fans can kick up when working on large files. But that’s a fair trade-off for the performance and screen quality you’re getting. Overall, the ProArt P16 feels like it was made for creatives who need power, organization tools, and an incredible display all in one package.
