Gaming laptops have long been the standard for creatives and demanding professions, with a lot of effort put in to making the gaming laptop they picked up to do serious CAD, engineering, database design & management, and photo & video editing look less “gamer” and more “please pay me because I am actually a serious professional.” Well, The ASUS ProArt PX13 is here to bring you something that is compact, efficient, long-lasting, versatile, powerful, AND looks professional, too! This laptop not only looks professional but the amazing “nano black” finish is fingerprint resistant to keep smudges, dust, and other grit from dirtying up this beautifully designed piece of equipment!
Unboxing – This was a strange experience, there was an outer shipping box but that’s normal. Next, was a larger “ProArt” box that contained two smaller boxes and two cardboard protective stabilizers. One of those boxes contained the charger, some literature, and other items that are likely still in that box. The other was a beautifully designed black box, inscribed with ProArt PX13 and the outline of the laptop that was within. This was a very strange packaging setup, but I kind of liked it... however, I also like opening boxes. So that was a fun treat for me, your mileage may vary.
First impressions – Whoa. Just, whoa. Metal outer casing, LARGE ventilation all around, and ports! The variety of I/O ports and the number of them is absolutely incredible! Clearly, ASUS has taken note of what creators and power users are looking for in a, still thin and light, powerhouse laptop! You’re able to open the lid with just one finger, perfection. Massive trackpad, with a circle and a dot in it? Well, that’s weird, or is it? That is actually the ASUS DialPad, which adds a multitude of functionality to the trackpad that would normally only be available with the addition of a Microsoft Dial or some other wheel-type device (I use a Xencelabs Quickeys). This has been my favorite feature so far, editing in Premiere Pro so much easier while on the go! There is also the ability to adjust, add, remove, or completely custom build profiles to use with it. The keyboard is excellent, with great key travel, not a “click” but a good amount of tactile feel for a membrane laptop keyboard, battery life has been a consistent 6.5 hours of daily use without GPU intensive tasks like video editing or gaming.
Display – I don’t want to look away from this beautiful OLED. It’s a 3K 16:10 screen that is well calibrated out of the box and aimed at being able to color grade “close enough” without formally calibrating on your own. There are various color modes available out of the box that are tailored toward optimizing your workflow. The vivid mode will make anything from the finest landscapes to spreadsheets look so good you’ll have a hard time looking away from it!
Gaming – Gaming is possible, and the RTX 4050 is no slouch, but it's also not meant to be a gaming powerhouse. GTA V at full resolution was maybe 35-40FPS, but very steady and consistent, drop this down to 1080P (well, 1200P. 1920 x 1200) and the framerate jumps considerably! That’s just the nature of having a creator & professional laptop that is balanced more for content creation and professional tasks versus gaming, if you’re looking for something good for content creation and great at gaming, stick with the gaming laptops. For casually pulling up some of your favorite games and being able to have a great time, this laptop will do more than do the trick.
Overall, this machine is a well-crafted and carefully paired laptop that fits the niche that creators are looking for: a ton of RAM, a ton of horsepower in the CPU, a very competent GPU for rendering, and a gorgeous display! This total package not only looks the part of a creative powerhouse but has the guts inside to prove it. I do wish the SSD, which is replaceable, was a more traditional m.2 2280 versus the m.2 2230 that’s inside. This is both for the availability of affordable larger options and speeds, hopefully this is less of an issue as more storage companies release faster & larger options. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking for a solid mobile workstation for video and photo editing, content creation, and occasional gaming. The combination of excellent I/O, amazing display, and a well-balanced CPU/GPU/RAM combination make this an excellent option. The metal casing, durable build, and sleek look make it a great choice if you also want a laptop that you can bring into a client meeting and not have to worry about your “RGB spaceship” making you seem less professional.

This laptop ticks all the following boxes for me:
- portable (3lbs)
- flexible (2-in 1)
- great screen (oled) where if I really wanted more than 60hz can offload to a larger monitor
- good name brand (asus)
- ample memory (32gb)
- handles light gaming (nvidia)
- handle streaming and light work like browsing and email
- only concern is battery life where setting the lid closing to sleep saves me juice
- lots of ports onboard

The ProArt PX13 is aimed at “creators” but really should be looked at as a MacBook Pro Windows alternative. The design is spectacular, with high quality materials and a form-meets-function build.
The specs are great for most use cases, and while fans are loud during demanding tasks, the laptop is silent for everything else. This model includes a powerful AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and a mid-range RTX 4050. Based on the limited power supplied to the graphics chip, it doesn’t make sense to spend the extra for the 4060, in my opinion. While this isn’t a gaming laptop, it easily handles all modern games I’ve thrown at it.
The elephant in the room is the screen. A stunning 13” OLED panel that has a 60hz refresh rate. Based on the graphics capabilities, 60 is fine… although it is a questionable decision when the rest of the hardware is pretty high end. It’s not like Asus hasn’t used 120hz OLEDs in other notebooks.
Overall super happy with the whole package. Every product could be “better” and this is what I’d change for a v2:
1. 2280 SSD instead of the 2230
2. 120hz refresh rate for the display
3. Higher power rating for the GPU, although this would require better cooling and a heavier build.

Possibly the first mobile art computer, the Asus ProArt PX13 is designed from its interior components to be a workhorse in various artistic procedures and processes used by creative amateurs and professionals in graphic arts, video editing, content creation, and digital art. Incorporating AI capabilities with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, running on a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Graphics card with 6 GB GDDR6 VRAM having a memory of 32 GB 7500 MHz LPDDR5X and a 1 TB M.2 NV Me PCIe 4.0 Storage Solid State Drive (configurable up to 2 TB SSD) are just the beginnings that make this a creative artist’s computer dream.
The display is another feature that makes the Asus ProArt PX13 artist friendly. At just 13.3 inches, the 3K OLED Touch Screen made of Corning Gorilla Glass supports a stylus and can be used in various positions. It can open as a traditional laptop design, fold back to resemble a tablet and support itself in an inverted “V” for presentations. Asus colors are certified HDR True Black 500, and Asus has worked with Pantone to validate over one billion colors. The screen incorporates blue light protection, which is increasingly important to long-term vision. This screen is designed to emit 70 % less harmful rays of blue light. When creating intense artwork, the image may need to stay visible for extended periods, depending on the art technique used to create the subject. Asus will provide a free OLED screen exchange for any burn-in issues arising from creating art during the warranty period when screen burn-in may occur. It is also important in product design that the perfect color or colors of the creation be replicated in the proposed product. Asus’ ingenuity of keying the display colors to Pantone and indicating absolute colors of hue, value, and intensity is automatic while designing with the Asus ProArt PX13.
At just 3 lbs., this computer is ultra-portable and constructed of military-grade durability standards in Nano Black, an anodizing process that creates a nano-microporous structure designed to minimize reflections and maintain a sleek ultra-black appearance in all lighting conditions. It resists fingerprints and smudges always to look professional and presentation ready. It is sharp in appearance, light, and powerful.
Artist software involving unlimited calculations and using various tints, shades, and intensities of hues requires a strong processor, graphics card, memory, and storage. The size and design of the ProArt PX13 allow the creative artist to continue their work on the go as this computing device has the capacity of a much larger desktop or laptop but the mobility of a tablet. The AMD Ryzen AI processor provides the architecture-based Radeon graphics demanded by artistic software. The basis of this is now formed, and it will only continue to be built upon and improved over time. This allows for faster development and faster creation. This also allows your AI data to stay with you. This computer is designed to be ready for over 500 AI processes in apps and games.
Asus also designed this computer with an advanced cooling system with two fans and a built-in dust filter. The ProArt PX13 also incorporates innovative technology tools for managing creative experiences. The Story Cube is one asset that changes how we traditionally manage our files and online photos and documents. The Story Cube works with AI to categorize the digital documents and files particular to individual preferences. The Muse Tree is another Asus software invention. It is designed to help streamline and organize the creative process. Starting with the File Create feature which offers two distinct creative design modes - inspiration and random inspiration. Muse Tree then presents various ideas in Canvas, an Idea Map, and the Idea Library and presents various concepts and ideas as you develop your art. Co-Pilot in Windows is the new Windows assistant that works with AI and helps you organize, streamline, and file your work.
The newly designed Asus Dial Pad is another excellent feature of this little designer’s marvel. In drawing, precision is important, and the dial pad allows for just that. Asus Dial Pad works great with Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, Lightroom, Illustrator, and other artistic software. A 3- month Adobe trial subscription is available to activate and install. The ProArt Creator Hub designed into this system allows for the organization of artist software and assigned shortcuts, etc., to be set for specific commands. The keyboard even has a designated key for the Co-Pilot and has another excellent feature of being back lite.
This computer has the latest Wi-Fi 7 features and is ready for intense creativity with almost unlimited possibilities. It is capable of the power needed to produce and, at three (3) lbs., light and small enough for mobility. The FHD Camera, Bluetooth 5.4 wireless card, Harmon Kardon Doby Atmos Audio, and numerous connectivity connections, including two (2) USB 4 Type-C, one (1) USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one (1) HDMI 2.1 one (1) micro–SD Card Reader, and one (1) 3.5 mm combo audio jack makes this versatile for work, presentations, games and mobility. This computer is appropriately named ProArt PX13. The capabilities of this computer to create art and to teach artistic skills are great. It would be an excellent choice for those so inclined.

I think most of the fan noise and battery life negative reviews should be disregarded from consideration. The MyAsus, in addition to OS, allows plenty of control over how much juice the computer is pushing out to complete tasks, noise and power obviously being correlated.
After having this laptop for a few months, I'm happy to say this was a fantastic purchase. I was hesitant to buy a computer without a number pad but I wouldn't give this laptop back to trade for a similar spec'd computer with that option. The keyboard is very well designed with great feedback and build quality.
It is very easy and quick to get into the laptop from sleep/hibernate, into the program i need, and close it back down. Waiting is a thing of the past.
I think 4050 was a great option for the GPU choice. Most people, even greedy gamers like me, don't NEED more than that to play the games we want.
Screen quality is brilliant, crisp, very easy on the eyes.
The sleekness is everything I expected and more for an ultra thin, so i was very surprised they packed everything into the laptop that it includes.
My one gripe, if i had to choose one is the USB PD...
Asus recognizes the power constraints when using this laptop to full power, so its fair that its limited from performance mode unless plugged into the oem charger. USB PD can achieve more than what this laptop accepts via usb c (100 watts), however not too many laptops are offering this anyway. But even 30 watts more would be great to adjust what can be achieved without needing the oem charger.
4.8/5 So, rounded to 5.

This thing is amazing. The only issue i had was the local stores were not putting them on display. I had to order online. Small form factor, great apps. The black is super good looking. I am eager to try some basic gaming on this thing. So far it is a powerhouse for the size. I use it mostly for work/travel, and the form factor is pretty solid for that. The power charger is a brick though, so be prepared for that. It does have thunderbolt charging as well, so if you weren't using graphics heavy apps you can charge with it.

Powerful machine for the tiny laptop it is. The amount of productivity that can be done off a 13" laptop is astounding and photo editing is a breeze on the beautiful OLED screen. No disappointments. Only desire could have been a 120Hz refresh rate instead of the 60.

Have the asus flow x16, wanted something smaller to replace my OG ipad pro 10" that just pooped. Hate apple, but lightroom on android sucks. Tried the surface pro 11, awesome device, but windows 11 arm had issues being a power user. Wanted the 4060 version, but local BB had the 4050 version of this in stock. Figured I try it out, and almost perfect. 32gb ram, soldered, bare minimum for me but works. Screen great, keyboard/ports/hinge no issues or complaints. Battery life, depends on usage, but average one note/web/mail easily 5-8 hours. Lightroom probably 3-5 hours. Limit charging to 85% and use silent profile on battery, so could be better could be worse. Silent mode, barely noticable power drop, just know if you use the 4050 on battery it will die quick. But, pen input, laptop, tablet, for work and on the go, thing is a delight. No regrets.

I love the design. Its compact and very light weight.
It can be flipped to use it as a tablet.
With the OLED display, I love the deep black and very high contrast. Make all video and picture very beautiful!
I love Asus laptop. It quite fast and very smooth.
The radio is average in my opinion. The battery is more than enough per one charge. May be because I dont game so much.

I don't know what the standard is for laptops but I know this one is checking a lot of boxes. Video quality is amazing and it runs like butter, especially for how compact it is. Because of its size I find myself bringing it with me quite often. Another aspect that this device excels at is art, you may have seen this coming because of the name of the laptop and, but none the less this device makes colors pop and because its touch-screen you are able to do it without tool like an E pen or an external drawing tablet. I have been impressed so far with what I am seeing out of this laptop and I'm glad I made the investment.

Super snappy, portable 2-in-1 that powers through just about anything with ease. Although I mainly use it for casual use, I have put it through its paces with games Forza and Road to Yumi using high settings, even when outputting to a LG 4K OLED. Having owned Macs and a Surface Laptop in the past, I can tell you that the build quality is 100% on a par with them. It's noticeably better than the X13, G14 and G16. The PX13 has a rugged, tank-like quality, which makes sense given its military-grade resiliency. Also features a gorgeous 3k OLED screen and some insanely loudspeakers. Pity they're down facing, but they still sound rather good. The only downside is the battery life, which is about 8.5/9 hours with light use, but you can't have everything now, can you?

I was a Dell XPS user for many years, but I was unhappy with some of the recent design changes they made and started looking elsewhere. I came across this laptop and was immediately impressed. I figured there had to be a catch, due to the fact that this laptop costs several hundred dollars less than a top-of-the-line XPS and is more powerful. So far, I haven't found any catches.
This laptop has been a joy to use. The build quality overall is superb. It's a sleek laptop and looks great in black. I especially love the keyboard, it is absolutely lovely to type on. The screen is also beautiful. Do I wish it was 144hz? Maybe. But I wouldn't make that a reason not to get it. Not to mention the specs. This is a powerful machine. It's run everything I've thrown at it, whether it's Adobe Photoshop or GTA V. No complaints there. I also personally love the size, as I'm not a fan of 15-inch laptops. It only weighs about 3 pounds, not much heavier than an XPS. You'll be hard-pressed to find another 13-inch laptop with comparable specs.
The only negatives I've had have been software-related. This ships with Windows 11, and I've had a couple issues that I think stems from that. I had an issue with the screen flickering which I was able to determine was not a physical issue with the laptop, but software. I had another issue where anytime I plugged my laptop in, the HDR settings would change. Again, it was a Windows issue. There are also various ASUS software that can be used to further customize your experience, but there's so many different apps it can be hard to determine what you actually need.
If you're looking for a small but powerful laptop, I'd highly recommend this one. It's been nothing but great to use (assuming Windows wants to work).

Excellent Laptop – Perfect Balance of Performance and Comfort
I’ve been using this laptop for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way.
It’s fast, responsive, and handles multitasking with ease — multiple browser tabs, Photoshop, streaming, and music all running smoothly without any lag.
The keyboard is a joy to type on — soft key travel, no rattling, and very comfortable for long sessions. The screen is bright, crisp, and has great color accuracy — perfect for both work and entertainment.
Build quality is solid, the design is sleek, and nothing feels cheap or flimsy. Battery life is impressive — it easily lasts a full workday without needing a charge.
Another big plus: the cooling system is quiet and efficient, even under heavy use.
Overall, a great value for the price. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and powerful everyday laptop.

Amazing device, great study build quality. Beautiful industrial design. It has some kind of textured coating on it that feels great.. like smoothed stone. It is handsomely black - not dark midnight space metallic gray - but true matte black. Beautiful screen, but not for high refresh rate gaming (get the G14 for that). Smallest PC with NVidia dGPU.
Battery life could use some tuning, but maybe the small chassis makes it expend more energy fans to perform cooling? Has a pretty high idle wattage even when set to only use integrate GPU (890M). At this size, battery life seems crucial to portability, but if you ever need the 4050, you can say goodbye to battery life, but for those use cases, I don't think they would care. I guess it's more like a very portable creator workstation. Not sure why it needs to be a 2 in 1 with no pen, but glad it's an option. Keyboard and touchpad are already really good with deep 1.7 mm travel, but initial activation feels just slightly mushy compared to Thinkpad/Lenovo keyboards. Touchpad wheel feels gimmicky, and the software backing it is a bit laggy.
I'm on the fence about keeping this or the Thinkpad T14s snapdragon.

After some debating I purchased this laptop two months ago. I travel and am in hotels 2-3 nights a week, so I wanted something lightweight enough to haul with me, but strong enough to game with. This thing does exactly that. It's small and light enough to sit with it in bed or on the sofa for a movie or light gaming, but strong enough for more demanding games as well. While it runs slightly hot, I'd love to see something this thin and light run a modern game and not break 65C. Any complaints about this thing are people comparing apples to oranges. You're getting a 2-in-1 that's less than 1 inch thick, barely 3lbs, but with the RAM and graphics card of a gaming laptop. In my opinion, it's the best of every world.

This little laptop gives most large laptops a run for their money. This little laptop can perform just about any task any other laptop can perform and has terrific battery life and portability. The performance is top notch, even under load the fan noise and heat is manageable. Only complaints I have is that the refresh rate is only 60hz and the peak brightness is a little sub par (looks amazing in indoor lighting). Trackpad feels nice, scroll wheel thing is kind of a novelty, but I could see some people using it. The touchscreen is very responsive and works with MPP pens (Microsoft Surface pens).

I did a ton of research about laptops in this class before my purchase. I wanted something in a 13" form factor, with 32GB of RAM, a fantastic screen, good build quality, and solid battery life.
From the online reviews, this laptop seemed to check all the boxes, so I made the plunge (taking advantage of a sale price at Best Buy).
And I can happily report that what I'm reading in the reviews is all true!
Build quality is great. Love the finish of the laptop. Really looks premium and seems to resist fingerprints somewhat.
Keyboard is satisfactory/good, but not the best I've used. Not bad by any measure, just not the best. Backlighting is great, with very little bleed under the keys.
Trackpad is big and responsive. Haven't used the scroll wheel at all. Not really appealing to me.
Screen is fantastic. No observable screen door effect. Bright. Great colour.
Upon firing-up the laptop for the first time, it went through a series of Win11 updates and the proprietary ASUS app did the trick to update drivers and the BIOS. Very easy. Nice to get things current for all the features/devices without having to hunt around on the web.
The laptop feels quite snappy with the 32GB of ram and solid AMD processor. 1TB SSD is plenty big for my needs.
My only complaint thus far is the AC power brick. It's CHONK. I know the laptop requires a 200W PSU to power the CPU/GPU (love the discrete GPU in a 13" laptop), but it significantly increases the carry weight of the laptop when traveling. But I can't think of any way to get around that as PD on the USB-C ports only goes to 100W.
Anyways, I love the laptop so far and will report back with more findings as appropriate!

Amazing build quality that also looks incredible.
The performance it offers for the form factor is quiet awesome.
The heat vents all around this ensured the laptop ran cool. Good heat management. I mostly kept it in whisper mode with discrete graphics turned off.
Battery life was Ok realistically, It required high brightness and even at setting all to dark theme got around 4 to 5 hrs. But on the plus side, it would charge really really quick, I've never seen anything charge this fast, around an hour for full charge.
Purchased it use for some coding and web browsing use. It works good for web browsing esp. watching HDR content is breathtaking. However, for coding, the screen size is bit too small, and increasing to 175% font size seems fewer lines visible. Screen glare was pretty bad and annoying when its in even in mild to moderate lighting conditions.
I believe that the laptop who this was intended for i.e. content creators would be really happy with this - It packs the performance and a stunning screen. Additionally regular web browisng, MS office users should also appreciate this esp. 2 in 1 features. Won't recommend for someone that wants to use for code or software development though.
