Asus gaming goodness
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was like a kid at Christmas unboxing this gaming desktop. Booting it was a joy. It's hooked to a 60 inch TV so great fun on a giant screen! I have to say though, I was completely surprised to see the PS2 connections for mouse and keyboard. No way I have anything that would connect to a PS2 port anymore. The included keyboard and mouse were no better than what you'd see with any other desktop. I connected my Razer mouse and keyboard for the full gaming experience. The armory crate, Asus software that allows everything to be customized, including lighting, CPU and GPU settings is preinstalled. It also allows the lighting to by synced with the gaming keyboards and mice as well. Some of my letdowns: 16GB Ram. Wish there were more, but there are additional slots to add more and I plan to buy an additional 16 GB stick to utilize the dual channel memory. No Thunderbolt/USB-C or any way to upgrade this. It's a bit on the noisy side. All the games I've played through the xbox game pass, none had any lag and all video was smooth. Wifi 6 is a wonderful addition as well though I do plan on hardwiring this beast soon. Windows 11 of course had an update right out of the box but I wouldn't expect less anymore. It's an easy transition from Windows 10 to 11. The biggest visual change is the start button is in the middle of the taskbar. I also really like that additional desktops can be set up. I love the idea of having a business desktop, a gaming desktop, etc. This is a great gaming machine with some really great features though it does also have some limitations.

Not the latest graphics card but close
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This pre-built gaming. PC has very impressive features for those who are just starting out. It comes with a 3060 Nvidia graphics card which is very good, although there are better ones out there. What's also cool about it is that that leaves you room to expand storage and add extra fans, coming with the necessary ports and wires. It is not a five star out of the box but the potential that it allows you to have makes the PC more attractive.

Overall good gaming experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I like this gaming PC. I tested this machine at 1080p and 1440p resolutions, and even 1440p had solid framerates and was playable. I like how compact and simple the build is with the M-ATX motherboard, single fan RTX 3060 12G, and modular power supply. Personally, there are a couple things I would change on this machine to make it more standardized for future upgrades. The case it comes with it solidly built with good RGB lighting. However, there are no front intake fans, or any mounting locations to add fans. There is only a single 80-90mm fan in the rear acting as exhaust. Because of the smaller size of the fan it gets loud under load, though it does move quite a bit of air. The stock Intel cooler mounted on the CPU is hardly powerful enough to handle an 8 core/16 thread i7 cpu. However, an upgraded tower cooler is a cheap and easy upgrade. Personally, I would upgrade to a mesh front panel case, get actual air flow with upgraded 120mm fans, and upgrade the cpu cooler. I would also like to see dual channel ram in these pre-builts, but this unit only comes with 1 stick of 3600mhz ddr-4. There are no XMP profiles available in the bios to run aftermarket ram at overclocked speeds, but even running stock 2133mhz dual channel ram out-performs a single stick of 3600mhz. There are aloso no ARGB headers on the included motherboard, but that isn't a deal breaker at this price point. Overall I would recommend this machine to get you started with a solid gaming platform, but throwing a few bucks at an upgraded case and cpu cooler would definitely be recommended for air flow, gaming temps, and overall sound/loudness of the computer.

Posted .Dear Jeff,
We do understand your disappointment and the incovenience if you are experiencing system crash or performance issue with the laptop.
These issues temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. If these steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/. Also, while accessing web applications, please ensure the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance.

Fan sounds
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First its sound like normal but after months the fan sound too loud i want to return but return date is only 30 days its not good for that sound
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from ASUS Answers
Posted .Dear Sound,
We're sorry to hear about the unfortunate experience you're having with the fan sounds on this model. The noise that is emitting from the computer is known as coil whine. When the electrical current is increased to a certain point, the magnetic field around the coil can cause it to vibrate, which produces the whiny sound. After a short amount of time the noise should go away as the components regulates. However, if it is that the sound is too much for you, then we would recommend that you have this device sent in for servicing.

Incredible bang for the buck
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in need of a new PC for my TV for when I want to game a little more lazlily. My old system was getting a bit long in the tooth and just wasn't cutting it in the gaming department any more. The ROG Strix G10CE is actually way more hardware than I needed, but since it can do what I need plus more I'm giving it more to do! At the price point the ROG Strix G10CE is a monster. Just check the specs: RTX 3060, I7-11700, 512 NVMe SSD and a 1TB mechanical drive. They didn't wimp out on the RAM and stick 8, you get the required 16GB for gaming. There's only one stick so if you need more memory you still have 3 empty spots to fill. The only concern is that the PSU intake is on the bottom and the back side is sloped so the intake is closer to the ground/desk. This will limit placing the case on any kind of surface that has give. You NEED to put it on a solid surface. I didn't pull out the PSU to check the specs but it's been beefy enough to keep the system running smoothly through a few hours of gaming. And gaming is the ROG Strix G10CE's forte. I have it hooked up to my HiSense 55" 4k TV and the immersion is remarkable. Now it's hard gaming on a large screen since our eyes have a small focus area, but whoa it's nice! My main game for the last few months has been Warframe. Full res, max settings and the ROG Strix G10CE isn't skipping a frame! Even in heavy battles I'm not seeing a significant slowdown. I should have gotten a better HTPC a long time ago! For you RGB lovers, there's a strip on the top and the front insides that you can control via the Asus software. I'm not a fan so I disabled my lights. You also have the option of having a traditional metal or glass side panel. I'm used to using no panel for maximum air flow, lol. Just a habit from my old home made water cooling days and when I used to upgrade parts almost monthly. For the price Asus is asking for the ROG Strix G10CE it's almost hard to walk out the store without one! I'll definitely be grabbing one soon for work since Adobe CC apps will benefit immensely from the 3060 and the 11700 combo. Back to leveling up my Frame and Weapons!

Decent rig with some odd choices
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, anyone can see the specs for this system. But there are some questionable choices ASUS has made here - 1. 16GB RAM is on a single stick, not dual channel. The motherboard actually supports quad channel memory, but ASUS decided to put a single stick in. I would have appreciated if they had added 2 x 8gb RAM stick in dual channel, and giving us an option to add 2x8gb more later and use quad channel memory with a total of 32gb. I don't think I will be wanting to put in 64gigs of quad channel in my PC (that would mean purchasing 3 16gb sticks.....) 2. There are PS/2 ports but no USB-C or thunderbolt (???) - who even uses PS/2 anymore, what decade is this. and a lack of Thunderbolt is going to be a big miss now and in the future. 3. A 500W power supply is "just" enough for the current hardware, but ANY kind of GPU upgrade and you will need to update the PSU as well. 4. Windows 11 - now this is definitely a personal preference, but I don't like it at all. So... I installed Windows 10 instead. Also, remember that this is an 11th gen Intel PC, so there is no CPU upgrade path here unless you upgrade your motherboard as well. But the 11th gen Intel i7 is going to run whatever you want it to for quite some years and you will definitely need to upgrade your GPU before you feel the need to upgrade this CPU, so not worried about that for now. Now that I have gotten all of my complaints out of the way - what abou the rest of it. Well, I believe this is the best system you can get for the money right now, especially with the crazy part prices currently. Make no mistake, I firmly believe that ASUS cheaped on every thing that they could, but its still a decent system. The GPU comes with 3 DPs and 1 HDMI - I used the HDMI to connect it, ran it with 1080p 75 Hz on my Acer monitor. Outside of games, the SSD and the GPU combine to give it butter smooth performance. In games, well, it kind of depends with anything in PC gaming, what quality you run your games at. I found that if I bumped my resolution up to 1440p, the GPU was not able to handle/started to stutter. But 1080p with high graphics settings was perfect for almost everything I threw at it performed great. So, hope this helps you make your decision, as long as you know what you are getting into.

So Far, So good... but..
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So right out of the box, this is a solid little system. The case is a mid-height/small case, which will be okay for people who have limited space. One thing I really liked right out of the box, is that I have the option to have a clear panel side, or a solid side. I prefer the the solid, don't need the clear side like most gaming rigs, I am not all into the lights... just give me the performance. System boots up in a blink, and is already setup with Windows 11. Took about 15-20 minutes to get all the updates, and the system full updated, but was painless. Jumped right into a couple games. Tried my go to. Microsoft Flight simulator, it was nice and smooth, and zero lag or issues. Color/image was great on my 32" monitor. My son fired up Call of Duty, and then didn't leave the system for several hours. He said he had no lag, controls responded well and he didn't have any issues with video splitting or not being top notch. Then I went off to try some Crypto mining.. and it functioned as expected. The 3060 is a tad on the slower side for this, but it still did the job at rates consistent with others reporting in forums. This particular system is going to be my primary Windows machine going forward, for everything with Microsoft tools, to Windows based games, and even then into my VR experiences as well. Very happy with the system. Two nit picks: Very happy with the 512gb SSD... that is a good size. But the 1TB HDD, that is a tad small with today's game sizes. Already can see how I am going to fill that up pretty quickly, and will have to upgrade to at least a 4GB if not larger probably in the next 2-3 months. Another nit-pick. When the fan kick on at a higher RPM, it isn't silent, it is actually pretty noisy. Given it doesn't do it often, not a big deal.. but I can see if I get into some harder longer game play, it is going to kick in often. And I can feel the heat from the system. Heat is normal, but may have to look at adding some updated cooling options as I push the system harder and longer.

Great for a Prebuilt System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, you can't beat this prebuilt system. There's nothing high-end with this system, just basic, solid performance. This isn't for someone who wants the ultimate in gaming performance, but it's great for beginners and those on a budget. Pros: Looks- Out of the box, this system looks great. It's sleek and fits well into tight spaces. It comes with a solid side panel and a clear one as well depending on your preference. Ready to go out of the box- It comes with a basic mouse and keyboard so you can get started right away and set-up was easy. Graphics Performance- the graphics are incredible for a machine at this price point. The games I played all looked great with no noticble lag. Cons: Included keyboard and mouse are cheap. It's nice that they're included, but if you are at all serious about your gaking, you will want to upgrade to better options as soon as possible. The unit perfoemed great, but only after replacing the included keyboard with my own. Noisy- I havenm't had any issues with the unit overheating, but the fan can be loud at times, which is annoying. Limited expansion capability- This machine is what it is. You're not going to be adding extra hard drives, and there aren't USB-C ports, althought there are PS/2 connectors (why?). Overall, for gamers on a budget this isnt a bad machine. If you go in with your expectations in check, you should be more than happy with it.
