I've used this PC for about 2 weeks at the time of this review. I can confirm what everyone else is saying, the cooling situation is not to be ignored. You will need to add additional fans and adjust the fan speeds in the BIOS to prevent the machine from shutting down due to overheating. There's no negotiating that. I added two 120mm fans to the front panel and I can already see a massive improvement, keeping temps below 70c during aggressive use. I will almost certainly be adding more, but it seems manageable now. I just hope any one else who gets their hands on this build does so with the understanding that it needs work - but hey, great mobo, GPU and CPU are a fine starting point for someone looking to maintain and upgrade a machine!

I bought this hoping for a smooth out-of-box pc with a nice GPU. Well, it wasn't smooth at all. I followed other's suggestions and bought a corsair H100i AIO. This fit after a little bit of work on the front. Although it did help, the airflow on the front is so poor that it had to operate at its peak to keep the CPU somewhat cool. My next upgrade was 32GB of corsair vengeance as I run lots of FEA studies for my work. I added an intake fan on the top using some zip ties. There are no mounting holes on the top. Why? No idea. The only fan that comes with this is a small, super loud exhaust fan. Who designed this? After all of this extra work, I had a VERY noisy machine, and it was still thermal throttling. I recently bought a corsair iCUE 4000X case. This solved all of my problems. The GPU and CPU are MUCH cooler in this case and can operate faster. I got a 40% increase in FPS from better airflow/cooling. Oh, and it's near silent. ASUS engineers should be ashamed of themselves for building such a terrible case. I do not recommend this product unless you are in dire need of a GPU. I've spent well over $2k on this project. If I were to start again, I'd go another route.

This PC is one fine machine with some flaws. It has good components from the factory for the price. Had to upgrade to Noctua fans for better heat management. The tower doesn't have much room inside for big upgrades such as a liquid cooling system, it would be very crammed with a radiator and hoses. Overall its good and i am satisfied.

The price on this machine was too good to pass up. I was looking for an upgrade at pc and this fit the bill. With the price of GPUs out there right now I figured i couldnt go wrong. This guy overheats really badly though. I have had to add a fan and add thermal paste to make this thing usable at all while gaming at a high level. So far it has been satisfactory but nothing to right home about. I would probably not buy again but i needed it so here i am.

Pros: >Asus Dual 3070 >Intel 11700 CPU >Beefy 750w PSU >Plenty of additional cables and hardware included for upgrades Cons: >Cooling is horrendous >Included 1tb HDD is outdated tech >Case design is unaccomdating for large upgrades I'll start by addressing the elephant in the room... The cooling for this system is almost non-existent. There is no air intake whatsoever, and the exhaust is a single, loud 92mm fan. This isn't acceptable in a much less powerful machine, let alone a gaming rig such as this. The addition of 2 intake fans and 1 more exhaust fan would have likely met minimum requirements. To make matters much worse, the thermal pasting job on my CPU was laughably unprofessional. I wish I had taken photos, because it was just... really bad, which likely explains why CPU temps were hitting the 90s when installing Windows 11. Well, that and the stock Intel cooler is completely inadequate. If you buy this, you absolutely need to upgrade the cooling. I highly recommend a liquid cooling solution for the CPU - I was able to install a Corsair 240mm AIO (Elite Capellix), but the metal plate that covers the PSU and HDD needed to be permanently removed to accomodate. A 120mm AIO would likely fit with that plate still installed. I also recommend an additional exhaust fan, or at least replacing the included 92mm with something of higher quality to lessen noise and improve efficiency. All-in-all, you probably won't find a better deal on these specs in the current market. But you 100% need to be prepared to make some upgrades right off the bat. If you aren't confident in doing this work yourself, I recommend having it professionally done - these installs are never as simple as they seem.

I love this PC. Got it for $250 off which I used to buy an Aio watercooler to fix the glaring cooling issue. From gaming at 80-95 degrees to temps down to 35-50 depending on the game. I also added a 2TB Samsung NVME drive for games and kept the stock ssd for my boot drive. Really enjoy what I got but the deal wasn't really a deal.

Great value. Prepare yourself for some work. As others have noted the cpu cooler is terrible. You should definitely consider buying another cooler. I don't agree that you necessarily need a water cooler device. You could probably buy a nice air cooler and keep it under 75 at idle. One quick fix is to simply take off stock cooler and remove the shotty, poorly applied thermal paste and add some new stuff. I used noctua and lowered my idles into the high 70sC. This goes to show the poor quality control on assembly and this is infuriating. Otherwise you're getting a fairly recent I7 with pretty good horsepower and a GPU that's a beast for under 2k. More graphical power than an Xbox series x. Btw I bought the Corsair cpu water-cooler block everyone is recommending, but I'm just saying you may not absolutely need it.

For those of you reading the reviews like I did before my purchase, you'll undoubtedly notice the feedback around sub-par (to put it nicely) cooling. I also observed ASUS' reply to one reviewer (either here or on Amazon) stating it was sufficient cooling for the machine. That's true as long as you don't actually game on it (which you're surely doing if you're buying a machine w/ a 3070 in it). For reference, I play games like Warframe and ESO. Idle, temps were 45-50 C. During the games, temps ran 80-90 C (YIKES). I wanted to use this review to give further tips on replacing the cooling. I listened to others and bought the MSI 240R liquid cooling setup. It was too big and I couldn't get it to fit. Then I bought the iCue H100 Elite Capella (or whatever it is called). That too didn't seem to have space to mount on the front of the case (and definitely not on the top). At this point I felt very defeated because this computer simply won't work without it. I had never installed a cooling fan like this but I've installed other components so I went with the YOLO approach. Then I looked closer at one of the reviewer's pics and saw they had rerouted some cables. So.. for those of you capable but new to doing this, here's a list of what I had to do to install good cooling. 1) I had to find the screws to remove the really nice lookin metal shelf that hid the cables, PSU, and secondary HDD. I needed the space on the front case panel for the liquid cooling radiator. 2) I had to re-route the cables for the main MB power, the GPU, and one other thing (it had a blue connector piece - dunno what it is lol). 3) I accidentally popped out the cable that connects to the power button on the front panel, so I had to reconnect that (which was worse than almost anything else in this process)! After those additional steps to make room on the front case location for the radiator and following a couple YouTube installation videos, I had my cooler installed. Then came the nerve-wracking "turn it back on". The system is nearly silent, even more RGB-tastic, and runs at 38-40 C during full gameplay in Warframe! So many high quality components, it's embarrassing ASUS apparently wants to sell you something that's sure to overheat in a year or two so you can buy more stuff from them. Shame they don't just charge the extra $100 and put proper cooling in.

Like all the other comments, the cpu needs better cooling system. I play warzone at 2k 120 fps and my cpu and gpu get around 70*C (after I installed 3 case fans) But this is a great bang for buck considering the prices on 3070s at the moment. Looking to install a aio to lower the temp for the cpu. If you are looking at making this a streaming set up, do get more ram. The motherboard is quite small, but the case is small as well. And when trying to install fans to the front of the case. make sure you do not rip off the power button in the front. I ended up doing that and now the latch that connects the power button is broken and i have the hang the button cord through the vent.

As it has already been said by most of the other review, CPU and case cooling is terrible and Asus should be ashamed of selling this system as is. I was hitting 100 degrees and thermal throttling just botting up Windows and installing updates. Took the side off and it's usable until I can get a better cooler. With an aftermarket CPU cooler and more fans its not a terrible system but this should be required on a purchase of this amount. I will probably make it work but I would recommend looking at other options if possible. Asus GPU is great and runs cool. I received a Asus Dual 3070 that is not LHR. Probably the only plus on this system.

Great RGB effects and a SOLID build of a computer with a great graphics card. I was surprised to see the cool effects when turning this on for the first time. I do appreciate the handle, which makes me take it around easily to other rooms for game play. The CPU is the latest generation as well as the memory speed and PCIe, which beats 10th gen offerings. The brand is reliable as they do build the best motherboards, so you get a good Strix one with this. Price also is very competitive, so the cooling trade-off is worth it (something I can easily change down the line myself).

It's not a machine you can use without modification. The CPU is no cooled properly, but a quick little 30 dollar heat sink can fix that. The case isn't the best, but it does the job, I even fit another GPU into the case and it fits and works with the same power supply.

Pros: Good GPU and decent CPU. Cons: Everything else inside is junk. EVERYTHING. I would say don't get this unless you know how to do the work or know someone. The case is the smallest case possible at that too so doing the work is fun too. In my opinion, you're going to need to get a whole new case or get a cpu cooler which I don't see why they put that dinky whatever it is on the CPU. Overall you're better off just getting a new case if you already got it and regretting it like because I'm just now reading the reviews. I got excited seeing a good GPU and decent CPU so I just ordered it. Hopefully you don't mess up like me and see this before hand.

We all know what you're here for. Most people have already posted the specs, It's built solid but this case is horrible. There is literally no room to add any extra HDD's, but they give you extra SATA cables so thats nice. All the parts are great but definitely needs better cooling. The stock Fan on the CPU isn't going to cut it for most intensive games and there is no room for any liquid cooling fans but some space for a larger fan . Dump the case a get a new one then this is 5 stars. Part value is nice, especially with GPU prices nowadays.

I got this pc for just under $1500 with my BBY 10% off due to my birthday month. I was shopping for a GPU upgrade which is the RTX 1070. The GPU prices are still insanely high, so I took the plunge when I saw the price for this prebuild pc with good pc parts. The price for the video card was worth it alone. BTW out of stock on GPU video cards alone at BBY and many other retail outlets. Overall, bought the pc and bought a new case, watercooler, extra case fans for better airflow as this is the main complaint of this model.

A solid machine with a few things that are less than ideal for the price. There is only one case fan at the back for airflow and the CPU cooler fan curve makes this thing sound like a wind tunnel when it gets going. After speaking with ASUS (Not BB) they told me that a 70D idle temperature was good for the CPU. Hard to do much as I can't swap it for another unit and I bought it primarily to get a 30 series card. So, here we are.

Fantastic after 1 month. Fans tend to be quite loud when at full rpm but hopefully it will keep it cool effectively. Upgraded to 32gb of ram. GPU / CPU and hardware all good so far. Definitely a good upgrade option if you can get it at the right price. Perfect for 2k 60-120fps gaming IMO. I’ve had significant improvement in frame rate and fewer drops particularly in VR even at higher resolutions.

This is not a plug-and-play system. Some things to do when you get this are to get a new CPU cooler, case, and reapply thermal paste if it is not included with the CPU fan/cooler. I have built man pcs, but this by far was the most difficult to modify. I thought people were exaggerating with the fan, but I was wrong. I don’t game; I trade stocks, and even when I opened up my stock platform just on the main screen, it sounded like I was right next to a Boeing. I have owned my own company before, and even then, I made sure that I was producing high-quality products, bringing some value to the customer. It is upsetting to me that Asus does not care about the value they bring to their customers because if they just took a look at their target market (people that don’t want to take apart your product to fix it for you, don’t know a lot about tech, and people that don’t want to build a pc), they would have fixed the issue by installing better cooling. By having a crappy cooling system, they get more sales because the price of the pc is lowered. In my opinion, it’s not worth it because your customers now have to take time out of their day to figure out how to fix your computer's issues and install a better cooling system. I won’t buy anything from us again, not because of their products but because I have seen how they conduct themselves as a company and unfortunately don’t care about producing high-quality products.

      Dear Cole,

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused.

All ASUS products are manufactured in compliance to industry's quality standard and each one undergoes intensive quality control testing and inspections. The desktop PC is a ccomplete and fully-configured system that has adequate colling system that dissipates heat efficiently while it's under heavy load. It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the PC is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Please make sure the system was not compromised by viruses or malware by doing a full system scan using an internet security software or application. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.

If you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

For the current price ($1699) You're basically getting the guts of the machine for retail. It has a nice base to work with. After reading some other reviews, I decided to give it a try. The thermals on this are garbage out of the box. I tested it for 2 hours last night and was running at 80C. I bought a Corsair 4000D Airflow case and a MSI 240R AIO cooler. The swap out was annoying for me because I haven't done anything like it in a while. The Corsair 4000D case fits it well, BUT I did hit a snag removing the motherboard from the original case. Once you remove the 8 screws, you really have to work some pressure into the I/O Shield to get the MOBO out. You'll also want to be 100% sure to remove the video card before doing this (of course). In the new case, Halo Infinite on a 1080P Monitor on High settings was getting 155-160 FPS. A few additional points that I didn't find brought up here: The SSD is a WD SN530, which is a widely used OEM ssd. R/W speeds in the low 2k range, much better than expected. YMMV on what they put in there. The HDD is a 3.5 inch drive, which is insane in this day and age. Haven't seen one in a new computer in years. Even after updating the bios, there were some weird issues where I could not seem to turn on XMP. the manufacturer instructions for the board (it's a modified B560G) were wrong, so I manually set the speed in AI Tweaker section of the bios, but could not do this until I updated to the July 2021 bios.
