    Good specs, bad cooling

Good specs for the price (considering the current market) but thermal performance will be a problem. CPU intensive games will run the system very hot. The underpowered CPU cooler runs extremely loud to compensate. Temps frequently get above 80 degrees. If you buy this, look to other reviews for potential cooling solutions. A system with a 3070 for $1600 was a rare find, though, so this is what I went with.

    Terrible, TERRIBLE Cooling

Guts are solid but the case is a dumpster fire. No room to mount fans along the top of the case since the motherboard is jammed right up to the top but there looks to be some space at the front to hopefully squeeze a radiator. This pc comes with a stock intel CPU cooler, 1 exhaust fan and 0 intake fans which is FAR from adequate. CPU temps regularly hit 100C before the jet turbine of an exhaust fan kicks on and helps to pull some air out only to have it immediately hit 100C again when the fan kicks back off. In my particular unit, the CPU cooler was also installed terribly where they somehow used about 4x more thermal paste than was necessary but still had big air pockets between the CPU and heatsink. Temps are better after reseating the CPU cooler but are still much hotter than I'm comfortable with. I haven't dared to benchmark anything yet for fear of it literally catching on fire from lack of cooling components. If you are willing to put extra time, money and creativity into getting more cooling crammed into this tiny case then it's an ok buy at best. Overall, I would not recommend this pc.

Solid PC. Everyone says it needs cooling; honestly, I wish I was tech-savvy because this thing gets LOUD. I like to game, but I work professionally as a photographer, and freelance video-work every now and then. For the purposes of Lightroom and Premier, this computer doesn't perform too well, but I think that has to do with 16GB RAM? I'm unsure. It's a solid PC.

Noisy case fan revving up will drive you insane.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. It's noisy and it's driving me crazy. I don't know if it is the poor 11700F CPU that yoyo up and down in temperature or just the horrendous fans in this desktop. There are only a single case fan and that is the small 90mm fan in the back. I am pretty sure it is this fan that revs up like a jet engine whenever I do anything that requires any processing power. Yep, no front fans, no fans on top of the case. I have a couple of 120mm case fan laying around so I added it to the case. It wasn't easy getting the case off and adding the fan. It helped a little bit so I then decided to change the stock cpu cooler to something a bit better. Things are less noisy but at least once an hour, I still hear the darn rear case fan revving up. Turns out there is a setting in the Bios where the fan setting are all messed up. Changing the fan setting from standard to silent help stop a lot of the revving. Still, I'm conditioned to hear the case fan revving up and it *still* do it much too often. Everything else is great, I'm just not sure how long I can stand listening to this noise.

      Dear Silhouette,

We do understand your concern about the fan noise.

It is normal for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the laptop is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Please make sure the system was not compromised by viruses or malware by doing a full system scan using an internet security software or application.

When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.

4 stars because I feel it could use a bump in RAM from the get go. Its enough right out the gate, but as you start to play more intensive games and stream and edit it does bottle neck a little. Not so much not to consider this an excellent PC though! I recommend this to anyone interested in getting a PC!

Excellent for it's price. Like others have said just get some better cooling. I got a cheap water cooler to replace the CPU fan and it's much more efficient. The case is hard to work with though, you have to work around the black shroud over the power supply. Took me a while to realize the HDD is also under that plate.

Overall, pc prforms well, sounds like a jet engine, but there is some definite value for this pc. I would reccomend adding a fan in the from of the pc on the bottom, so that some cool air blows on the gpu. I find that hot air can kind of get stuck in the bottom in the case and seems to only come out via convection, but a fan in the front bottom of the case fixes this mostly.

Great build quality, only downside as you have seen is the cooling. I made the purchase of an H100i Elite Capellix in white, and a corsair icue 4000x. The case was just a personal want and not a necessity for the PC to function great. Temps run great now and looks even better with upgrades still to be made

Cooling in this case is very bad, absolutely insane that they built it with no intake fans. But it's a good value for the parts and if you can put together Ikea furniture, you can move it into a better case.

Like others say, the ventilation is horrible. Get yourself a few extra case fans and liquid cooling, and get it all put in before even loading up windows. Updating windows alone has caused some buyers’ rigs to overheat. Get this done and you’ll have an amazing gaming rig for a great deal.

Adding a single 120mm fan to the front of the case and limiting the 80mm exhaust fan to 70% max speed solved every issue reviews complain about. It was kind of a pain to get to the mounting area on the front, I'd set aside an hour to do it. Otherwise a fantastic prebuild for only $1600.

First off, love the components. Great deal for the parts, but this is what it is. Parts. This case has pretty bad airflow, and in particular, the i7-11700 runs HOT. I needed to upgrade my case and cooler just to get sub 60 degree cpu temperatures. Also, the back fan is only a 92 mm fan and will only FIT a 92mm fan. Beautiful case, but smaller and hard to work in.

Awful cooling. Garbage ram. Mediocre PSU. The case is just not meant for extensive gaming sessions. The 3070 is great, but better off in a different rig. Asus cut corners because they knew the 3070 was enough to sell this overpriced machine.

      Dear Cody chaosx,

We do understand your disappointment with the build quality of the desktop PC and your concern about thermal issues.

The cooling system is efficient in dissipating heat properly. It is normal for the laptop to generate heat while under heavy load especially during, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down. Keeping Windows and drivers up to date will maintain optimum system stability and performance.

Purchased for the graphics card. Case does not come with adequate airflow. Like that the motherboard is wifi. My main pcie slot on the motherboard no longer detects graphics cards after 2 months in use. Overall excluding the card, not great quality. Actually really like the cheapie keyboard and mouse that comes with it though.

CONS: Poor Case Design with almost No airflow, your components will overheat. (Zero front fans, Zero top fans) Low end RAM (High CAS Latency / Green PCB). Underpowered PSU. Poor cpu cooler, throttles at 100 degrees almost immediately under load. --------------------------------------- PROS: NON-LHR RTX 3070 --------------------------------------- Asus' customer support was non-existent when I reached out to them about my issues. If you just want a Non-LHR 3070 then go for it, but beware of the poor cooling, case design & component selection. Shame on you Asus, seriously, do you really not know how to build a desktop properly when it comes to case design & airflow? I find it hard tp believe since you build top notch individual components.

      Dear Cttt,

      Thank you for your comment.

We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if it didn't meet your expectations. On the contrary, lots of satisfied customers, having positive experience using the product, will agree with that it is a decent PC that runs popular games and computing applications, without compromising system stability and performance as long as Windows is up to date.

Regarding your concern about cooling system, it is adequate enough to dissipate heat efficiently. It is normal for the PC, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications, services or processes are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.
