Not perfect, but it’s close.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never though I’d purchase a pre built again, but here we are. Given the unprecedented GPU prices these days, I believe this is the best deal/most convenient path to getting a 3080 these days. With that being said, this is far from a perfect build. I’ll start with the good stuff: the GPU, CPU, & power supply combo of this spec is excellent and well worth the necessary work to make this a top tier pc. The unfortunate part is that the case, cpu cooler, and ram are shockingly disparate when compared to the aforementioned components you get in this build. This is what I did and what I’d recommend for those purchasing this PC at or around $1800 usd. First, get a high airflow case that includes some decent 120, 140, or 200mm fans (I choose the Corsair 4000d at $95). Then get either a decent aio cooler or air cooler, the single fan tower this comes with isn’t going to cut it with the included case or anything else imo (I went with a Cooler Master Masterliquid Mirror 360, front mounted in the 4000d). If you want to go a step further, find some decent affordable RAM and go 32gb+, I swapped the included ugly green dimms for 2x16gb 3200mhz Corsair dominators and I plan to add some more soon, but this could be unnecessary depending on your use case. When swapping cases, there’s a few things of more that got me stuck for a bit (and I’m a very experienced builder). The pcie safe slot the gpu is installed was unbelievably difficult to unlatch on my unit, I have never been so concerned about damaging a gpu or mobo removing the gpu. Ultimately, I did get it unlocked, but it was a tremendous amount of pressure required with screwdrivers, chopsticks, etc. to successfully remove it and access the final screw securing the motherboard. The gpu also has a bracket holding it to the rear wall of the case that must be removed prior to removal of the gpu, once removed there are additional screws securing the bracket to the gpu if you wish to remove it entirely (I did). Additionally, upon removing the gpu, I found that the motherboard as well was firmly seated in the case. I found a forum post online indicating that the integrated io shield of the motherboard being seated into the rear cutout of the case was the sticking point. The key here is pushing the io shield from the back and pulling upward on the motherboard to remove it from the case. From there it should be smooth sailing, I was terrified that I’d busted the gpu or motherboard in my process, but everything was completely fine. Everything is working fine despite a weird message that the cpu changed on my first boot with the new case, cooler, and ram. Ultimately, if GPU prices are still insane, you’re comfortable with some work on the system, and you can get one of these for ~$1800 I feel it’s a very competent and fairly priced set of parts. Worked for me, might work for you too.

Great parts terrible case
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some great components in the worst case ever. It ha a i7 11700 , asus Tuf 3080 , asus ROG motherboard , 750 watt gold power supply and 16 gigs 3200mhz ram @ cl 17 . The Bad - the ram is plain green kind of generic looking ram( works fine so not the worst) , the power supply is not modular so lots of wires to deal with and the very worst part is the case ( almost zero airflow) and processor cooler. You could probably and some fans and a AIO cpu cooler for the temps but I found it easier to buy a corsair airflow case while they were on sale. I picked this up when it was on sale for $1599 , got the case , a corsair AIO , some caes rgb case fans , 32 gigs rgb 3200mhz cl 16 ram and a wd 1tb 850 nvme drive. All together its cost was around $1950 after using the bestbuy rewards for some of the purchases. A great deal for a now custom very cool running gaming pc. Do the math on the parts. If you can get them all you still come out about $400 ahead and you can easily sell the spare parts to save even more. I gave it 3 stars because i expected better from asus in a somewhat high end pc.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome parts put into a airtight case , with no intake . An 88mm exhaust and a 88mm 3heat pipe cpu cooler is all you have for cooling. I play Conquerors Blade with max settings and it starts to thermal throttle around 1-2hrs and than it will automatically shutdown . CPU is only at 50% load with 95+ Celsius . GPU at 50% load and 60-65C. I swapped the case for a Corsair5000D airflow (go YouTube Gamer Nexus for come cheap and good cases ) and added 10fans now it runs at 75C (still using the original cpu cooler) , planning on custom looping it . Still worth it for me after an extra $250 and time spent for rebuilding it into a new case. Btw if u get the Bestbuy store card u get 10% cash back which is like $200 and than you can have a free case or AIO. Friendly reminder read the other reviews please , there are other solutions for the cooling problem , but I think Case > CPU cooler > modding the original case . Perfect for 1440p gaming at Ultra settings
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I subtracted 1 star because this computer was so loud with the stock fans. So after doing my research, I replaced the stock cpu cooler with Noctua NH-D9L and the rear exhaust fan with Noctua NF-A9. The computer got really quiet which was great, but then I noticed my computer shutting down every time I ran a cpu stress test in 3DMark. I then went into the BIOS Q-Fan control setting and switched both fans' settings from the default "standard" mode to "silent" mode. By analyzing the graph in the Q-Fan control, "Silent" Mode produces more rpms quicker when the CPU gets hotter. Otherwise you can customize your fan settings any way you like. The result is that my computer no longer shuts down whenever I run a test in 3DMark. I'm truly amazed with Noctua fans because they manage to keep quiet during those benchmark tests and especially during intense gaming sessions. Overall, the main reason why I bought this gaming computer is because I needed an RTX 3080 card to achieve an average of 60+ fps when playing Red Dead Redemption and Cyberpunk 2077 in 1440p Ultra. Mission accomplished!

Good for the price, with notes
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you aren't comfortable altering the system, I don't think it will be a good choice sadly. It at least needs more fans that badly. As many other reviews covered, the cooling is absolutely unacceptable if you intend to use the computer as is. It will throttle, and even overheat under just about any load. Fans ran full speed on startup alone, and mine got over 85c from just booting into windows. I can't say I had a crash, but many cores were close to or at TJ max under load. It has 2 90mm fans, plus the gpu fans, and that's it. The motherboard is locked, even though you get an unlocked processor, so bear that in mind. Even with all that said, the cost of this is the real takeaway. The parts in here all together are very close to MSRP which is unheard of right now. And if you don't like to waste things, the case is usable; with added case fans, and a better cpu cooler. The top and front panel are mesh metal under the plastic, so airflow is decent. Something I haven't seen others note, is that the case does have posts for a full atx board. Also, the gpu will have no sag issues, as there is a bracket inside attached to the case and the metal backplate. The 3080 tuf is a very good card with a lot of headroom to overclock, and the 11700kf is basically an i9 11900kf, with a slightly lower clock. The SK hynix ram inside is not the best you can buy, but it is definitely not bad. M.2 drive is a WD-SN530 with windows installed. Greatwall PSU is the only strangely branded item, though most reviews say it's okay. Asus strix B-560G board is actually good too, if you don't want to overclock. I'd definitely buy this if you were considering building your own PC, because you won't be finding the parts at this price anytime soon it seems. You could run it as is with better fans, or get a 590 motherboard and have a top of the line system for basically the cost of parts. And if you wanted to actually get the building experience, you could always tear it down and build in a better case. Remember, any modifications will void the warranty. Test the computer before touching anything if you intend to make any changes.

I dig it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice little pre-built that sells for cheaper than the card in it does on eBay these days. Crazy times. Luckily for me it’s been about 6 years since I’ve upgraded so I don’t need to part out the rest. I’m a fan of the little case. It sits nicely on my desk, is very cleanly wired, and has a calming slow changing light show in it. I keep reading about the lack of fans and a proper CPU cooler and how the mobo won’t overclock the i7. All valid points I guess, but I just played Cyberpunk completely maxed out w/ ultra ray tracing for 6 hours and this thing never broke a sweat or glitched out... and it was always above 60fps at 1440p. IDK, if you just wanna play games at a high frame rate w/ RTX and not be the benchmark stress test champion of the world this is a great buy in my book, and the gravy is I didn’t have to wait 4 months to get it.

Flawed but workable option for a 3080 build.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are trying to build a PC around the 3080, buy now and think later. When this is available it’s one of the rare opportunities for a great gaming rig without winning a lottery or paying scalpers n It’s a prebuilt that requires a bit of work to get fully functional. Test it first before doing these modifications because they will void your warranty. The best air CPU cooler that will fit in the case is a Vetroo V5. You can install this without changing the back plate. This upgrades your CPU cooler to 120mm and it actually works great. You can also install three 120mm intake fans in the case: two on the front and one on the top. You will need to CAREFULLY take the case apart to do this. One 120mm intake fan can be screwed in the bottom front, but the other two need zip ties. The ram sticks do not have heatsinks. You can add these if you want but they really aren’t necessary, especially after you address the cooling. The 90mm exhaust fan is loud. I may replace that too. After getting the cooling right, I also patched the bios to update the processor microcode. This is optional but can yield a 2.5% performance increase. Now the PC runs like an absolute beast and I’m happy with the outcome.

OK IF you change the case, otherwise garbage.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The case and fans are complete garbage, but in early 2022 it is still a great deal if you want to do some work. I swapped the components into a NZXT 510i case and added a AIO 240 cooler. It is running cool and fairly quiet and looks good. Got the computer as an open box for around 1600. With the case and cooler I'm about $2100 in for an RTX 3080 with an i7 11700kf and 16 gigs of 3200 ram. It would not be my first choice for CPU or ram if the world was same right now, but it is cutting through all the tests and games with ease. I'm playing at 1440p right now but it could go 4k with no problem. NZXT 510i was only case at Best Buy locally, it is ok but I wouldn't recommend. The case scratches VERY easily and the metal is so thin that the top fan makes a droning noise. It was easy to fix by putting something heavy on the center of the top fan intake where it wouldn't block airflow, but come on man that shouldn't be necessary. Overall, I would do it again but only if GPU prices stay this crazy.

Great Guts in a wimpy body. 3080 + I7 11700KF
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer has quality parts stuffed in to a hot box with poor cooling. Asus Tuff gaming 3 fan 3080 with an intel I7-11700kf and 16 gigs of Hyundai ram @ 3200. This thing has the power to play any games at 1440p or even 4K. But it has no front fans and the worst CPU cooler I have ever seen on a computer, never mind a ROG STRIX labeled product. my solution was to buy an inexpensive high flow case and a 240mm AIO, both MSI from Bestbuy for an additional 180 dollars. Now its much better looking and runs cool and quiet.

Posted .Dear PCBuilder,
We do understand your concern about the cooling system on the PC.
The cooling system is adequate to dissipate heat efficeintly while the computer is under heavy load. It is normal for the desktop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

Best gaming pc for the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t listen to all the haters. This is the best deal on the market. Does the case suck? Yea. Does it get a little hot? Yea. You know what will fix that. Buy a V5 Vetroo air cooler for $35 and take the side panel off. Bammmmm! You have a pc that normally sells for $2500 plus for what… $2100… and you can buy a certified excellent one and save $150. I did that and it was $1812 before taxes but was brand new. And if you wanna spend just a little more buy a Lian li lancool ii mesh performance case for $120 and do a case swap. Seriously after searching everything this is the best deal on the market. Do not listen to all the cry babies.

The Design of this case is a DISASTER
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CPU, GPU, and motherboard are good, especially at this price. Don't buy if you have no time to rebuild it. Extremely awful cooling, I could only use it for 30 minutes, then it would overheat and automatically shut down. This PC only had a poor 90mm fan and a triple heat pipe air cooling for its 11th gen i7 and 3080, which was unbelievable. When I wanted to add some case fans and change the air cooling to liquid cooling, I found out that the design of this case is a disaster. The GPU would always block the way of my AIO. Seems like they didn't want to give users any extra space to put more fans. You can only install two 120mm case fans on the front panel, if you are willing to remove the baffle under the case. And of course there is no place for you to fix a fan on the upper part. In the end, I gave up struggling, and tried a simple solution after a few days of hard work (even the AIO I bouthgt is also ROG STRIX, this case is not compatible with it), I wired an 80mm fan to the top, then removed the side panel, and hung my AIO fans outside the case with zip tie. It looks not that good, but at least it works.

Great Value / Bad Cooling
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cons: - Bad CPU cooler. It is very loud under load and performs at high temperatures. It is just not enough for this processor. 3D Mark Time Spy pushes it to 100C, and thermal throttling starts. ASUS must do something about it, it is unacceptable! - Computer case is very small and has bad airflow. The size of it does not leave you a lot of choices for CPU cooler upgrades or adding more case fans. - Motherboard STRIX B560-G has custom BIOS for this build (G15CE). Features could be limited compared to the original BIOS that comes with STRIX B560-G. - Having a 2TB HDD is kind of a waste of money in 2021 gaming systems. - Keyboard and mouse are generic and not what you see in the picture. Waste of money. Pros: - Price! It is a great value for a prebuild with RTX3080 on board. MSRP of all components together comes to around $1,800. Investing $200 in a CPU cooler and new computer case will make this PC build perfect.

CPU cooler is inadequate.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So my first unit was DOA (dead GPU). I wanted the hunt to be over with so bought a replacement and this one works fine for the most part. For whatever reason they make it really hard to add fans to the top of the case, some people say use zip ties. GPU temps honestly aren't that bad considering the one tiny exhaust fan, it never went above 70c (even on 3d mark). CPU is another story. I just loaded Jedi Fallen Order and it was in the 90s and then actually playing it sensors hit cap at 100c. Bestbuy and ASUS claims changing out the CPU cooler voids the warranty but read their terms and conditions of their warranty on the website. Pretty sure this would count as a valid repair (YMMV). I recorded all my temps though and I think it pushing past what is healthy for the CPU. Might even just swap the case. Important info on warranty. At least according to the reps I talked to you have to bring the entire unit to Bestbuy for repair. So no shipping cost but probably going to have a wait. For ASUS. To help make this right. Allow warranty of individual parts. This unit temps on every review are unacceptable. Really needs a new case and a new cpu cooler (guess you can zip tie some fans). Also a gift card to compensate people for the repairs they had to make would be nice. Thanks.

From pre-built to re-build
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary: PROS; Easy way to get a high-end graphics card and a reasonably fast CPU. CONS: You're paying a premium for otherwise average components, a case that runs hot, and less support for the motherboard than you would get from an ASUS retail MB. Detail: After hunting around for an NVIDIA card I ended up biting the bullet and just buying one of these systems in the hopes that it would be an overall value. After getting the machine I noted that, as others have mentioned, the case runs hot and relatively loud. I was also not terribly impressed by the components (RAM, MD, SSD, etc) that were included in the build. I decided that having an RTX3080 in hand was worth it to just tear down this machine and rebuild from scratch. So that's what I did. I kept only the RTX3080, the processor, and the motherboard. Everything else, case/fans/SSD/ram/CPU cooler, was replaced. The result is a machine that runs much faster, much quieter, and much cooler. It's unfortunate that I had to go to those lengths, but if you want an RTX card you're either waiting to get lucky, or you're taking extraordinary steps. One thing that bothers me about these ROG STRIX G15CE machines is that even though Asus is using their B560-G motherboard in them they've hobbled the board by not using the retail version's BIOS. As of this post the BIOS available for the G15CE is from July 2021, whereas the retail B560-G has an update in the past two weeks (12/2021). Search around and you'll see people have confirmed that the motherboard is the same, and some people have even gone so far as to re-program the BIOS on the G15CE board to use the retail BIOS. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT! Asus should provide better support to the people that are shelling out $2000 for a complete system, vs the people that are shelling out $200 for a single component. Either let us use the retail BIOS or keep the G15CE BIOS up to date. Based on the components that shipped in this machine It's unlikely that I would consider buying another complete system from Asus. I hope that when the time comes that parts are more readily available so that I don't feel compelled to.

Best Bang for your Buck!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not a good choice for new pc owners if youre uncomfortable changing parts out. But if you are, this build has great quality main components the GPU, CPU, power supply all good stuff. First thing you need to do is upgrade your cooling system if youre gonna use this guy for gaming. I bought this pc specifically for warzone rebirth. I bought the Corsair H100i and extra 120MM corsair fans, mounted 2 at the top so it blows hot air out, only 1 fan could mount to the radiator blowing out, kept the baby black 90mm fan for exhaust, and 1 fan at the bottom of GPU to intake blow up so basically cool air intake from bottom and hot air exhaust blow out. Genius right!? My PC games under 60c for GPU and 40c for CPU. I can game for hours with no issues. I over clocked the GPU for max performance as well getting 200+ frames. PS ( 2 top fans are mounted using baby zipties ) hope yall enjoy and follow me on instagram if you have any other questions! @blackandgoldguy

Bad Cooling
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're going to pay over $1800 for this PC, I would stay away from it. It's equipped with tiny exhaust fans and the case overall has terrible cooling. I used it as is for roughly a month and my CPU temps would reach a 100c when exporting photos in Adobe Lightroom and would stay in the high 80's when playing Assetto Corsa. Like others in the review say, the fans were extremely loud. In the end I decided to swap all the components into a Lian Li Mini Air case. I have no previous experience with building PC's and was able to swap everything over and even install a Corsair AIO. Temps are in the low 60's c now when I play Asetto Corsa and the computer no longer sounds like a jet engine. I would only recommend buying if you're able to get this PC under $1500 and are willing to do some modifications. I was lucky enough to get this during a flash deal.

If you upgrade the cooling or put it in a new case it'd be fine - but both of those void your warranty. I returned mine - the amount of fan noise and clear lack of airflow makes me think these may start to fail for chronic overheating. Look at the photos - there's a CPU cooler and then a really small back exhaust fan - those are the only cooling components. And the front has very little airflow because of plastic pieces. The top is vented but again covered by plastic. I think the case was designed for much less powerful CPUs and video cards and they just put them in to have something more expensive to sell. This simply needs a bigger case with more airflow.

Workable option for those willing to put in time.

Greatwall Semi Modular 750W Gold PSU - "A" Tier on LTT Forums. Case handle (If that matters to you, for my travel its handy) Meh : 16GB of no-name ram is questionable, but at least its 3200mhz, and DOES work in other computers (make sure to set XMP). Motherboard has some nice features (Beefy VRM Heatsinks, AX Wifi, M.2 heatsink (for Gen4 slot), but cannot change cpu clock ration (overclock) on the KF processor. Cons : 1x 82mm exhaust fan, and a similar size cpu fan on a tin soda can heatsink. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone saying that it takes $300+ to make the computer useable obviously doesn't know what they're talking about. Although you have to remove the GPU bracket, you can fit a 240mm AIO in this case (See pictures). When I purchased it off amazon (ID-Cooling or something like that), Shipping and taxes ended up being $65. If you're going to go this route, some things to keep in mind: You're going to need to put the radiator in before the GPU and its going to be a TIGHT fit. You're going to want to remove the motherboard (to fit a new backplate depending on the AIO you get) and the IO shield is a PITA to remove. It'll feel like there is a screw that you might have left in, but if you get the angle just right, it'll pop out. You'll want to have some flush-cuts (small wire cutters) to make space to put the fan screws through the front, do this while the motherboard is out to reduce the risk of getting a stray piece of case on the motherboard / under the motherboard. You will not be able to mount the AIO "Properly" (Tubes should not be at the top of the RAD like this because of air bubbles but I'm okay with spending $65 every 2-3 years to replace an AIO) After everything was said and done, I don't even break 60 degrees under heavy load. (Benchmarks, 4k Gaming, etc.) tl/dr : With the current computer market, this computer is a great buy. With a 10% off coupon you can get this computer @ around $1,800 which is essentially MSRP for all of the components, but you're going to want to address the cooling issues before you cook the CPU into oblivion. This PC will NOT come close to it's potential right out of the box, regardless of what ASUS says. (Also this will probably void your warranty so if you decide to modify your system, definitely keep that in mind)

NOT HOT BUT IT'S TOO LOUD.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.tbh the case is not that hot, it just the fan is too loud. I bought it from an open box, run very smooth, I want my pc as good as for the next 3-4 years so I have to move all of them into the new case with the new cooler for the cpu. The open box costed me like 1900 plus tax, and $345 more for the 4000D airflow case, corsair - iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX CPU, and corsair- iCUE SP120 RGB ELITE Performance 120mm PWM Triple Fan Kit with iCUE Lighting Node. Total would be 2250 or sth. It could be said that it is the best rtx 3080 pc with this price.
