I have been using the ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop with an Intel Core i7-13700KF, 16GB of Memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, and a 1TB SSD for almost a month now, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations on multiple fronts. First and foremost, the gaming experience on this desktop is exceptional. The Intel Core i7-13700KF and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 deliver top-notch performance, allowing for smooth and lag-free gameplay even on demanding titles. Whether it's the latest AAA games or older classics, this desktop handles them with ease. The design of the casing is not only visually appealing but also highly functional. It provides efficient cooling to keep the components running optimally during extended gaming sessions, and the customizable RGB lighting adds a touch of personalization. In addition to gaming, this desktop performs admirably for various other tasks. Great prebuilt for 2K (1440p) gaming

I was pleasantly shocked that ASUS made a great prebuilt since I am a person who not only prefers building PC's but have been doing so for over 30+ years. The ROG lineup is something I like since I use a lot of ASUS parts. Just know you are buying a tower so you need to supply your own monitor and speakers/headset. Setup is quite easy and painless. Once you get past the Windows 11 welcome and download about a million updates, you will notice that ASUS did not pack the NVMe with a lot of bloatware. Nice job. Typical for gamers, there are RGB lights everywhere included the AIO water block that is completely customizable. I like how ASUS protected the GPU by installing a bracket that holds it in place and cannot get accidently bumped loose in transit. But then again, they did not do the same for everything else (power, RAM, AIO etc) but luckily everything turned out perfectly okay. I am a 2k gamer. FHD doesn't cut it for me and I personally find 4k pointless at this time. My games were played on 3440 x 1440p so that's where my benchmarks are coming from. Shadow of the Tomb Raider did 120fps average on HIGH. Diablo 4, Doom, Horizon and plenty of other titles will not struggle at all with this rig. Be warned, as everything is perfectly playable, it is obvious almost all games were GPU bottlenecked. It is a 3070 and will be fine for most, but maybe a future upgrade might be in your sight. Just make sure it will fit as this is a standard mid tower. A few observations I noticed when dissecting the tower. Though I appreciate the 240mm AIO to keep the 13700KF nice and cool, there is no fresh air intake at all. The front of the case has 0 fans to blow fresh air into the case itself which seems really odd to me. You have to rely on the AIO fans and the GPU to bring in anything. 2nd is the cheap RAM included. I straight up swapped them out for 32gb Corsair Vengeance 3200 and enabled XMP. 16gb to me isn't enough for modern gaming/streaming. 3rd is I have no idea if it was a typo with Best Buy, but my tower included a 750w PSU vs the 500w stated in the description. Not a bad thing at all but was surprised to say the least. Other than that, the PC itself is still really great. Games just fine in FHD and 2k though it can technically do 4k, you just won't be happy with the results. Productivity work will not even make it break a sweat. The motherboard is a mini ITX so since the GPU takes up a little more than 2 slots, you are left with 1 PCIe slot, 1 more NVMe and some SATA ports for any potential upgrades. It comes with 1TB of storage, so I do recommend adding more unless you like to DL games a lot since your library probably won't fit.

Solid prebuilt with some room to grow

Gamers have always had a bit of a contentious relationship with pre-built desktops. A lot of manufacturers have a bad habit of building for spec sheets rather than sensible part selection which can result crippling bottlenecks, limited expansion options, or something that's ludicrously underpowered. ASUS manages to avoid a lot of the common pitfalls in this desktop, leveraging their significant experience producing parts for the enthusiast market to produce a gaming desktop that stands well above typical prebuilt desktops but, sadly, does come with its own quirks that need to be dealt with. First, let's talk about the case. It's a fairly typical "gamer" case, albeit in a thinner form factor than most are used to seeing. And I have to say that it does check most of the boxes for what your typical gamer is looking for. It's striking, has plenty of programmable RGB accents, a built in headphone hook, and a gorgeous tempered glass panel showing off the internals. It also includes a two-part carrying handle (an adjustable strap at the back and a rigid handhold under the chin) to make it easy to move around to LAN parties or dorm rooms. But it is also, unfortunately, the weakest part of the system by far. While it's definitely a massive improvement on some of the previous ROG case designs I've seen, ventilation is still very much hit or miss here. As far as I can tell it's using a negative pressure layout, with two big 120mm fans in the ceiling serving as the exhaust and a single 80mm fan in the rear pulling air in. None of these intakes are filtered, and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to pop off the panel at the top for cleaning. Meanwhile the power supply is given a dedicated intake and exhaust, which I'd normally applaud if not for the fact that the intake sits so close to the ground that it's almost completely choked off (and probably just wouldn't work at all on carpet.) When I first looked at it, I thought it would probably be intolerably noisy given that smaller fans usually need to run at speeds high enough to produce an audible whine to do anything. I'm surprised to say, though, that it's actually pretty quiet while running. Case temps do get quite hot though under both synthetic and real life workloads, and results showed that even with the water cooler the CPU was running into its thermal limit after just a few minutes. Finally, it's missing a lot of small quality of life features you'll often see on enthusiast hardware like thumbscrews to secure body panels, extra space for cable routing/management, or mounting trays for HDDs or SATA SSDs (though there do appear to be brackets for them in a few places.) All of this combined makes me fairly confident that a case replacement is likely in the machine's future if I want to do any significant upgrades. Moving on though, things start to look a lot better. As mentioned, ASUS has a history with enthusiast tier hardware. And they've used some of it to build out this machine. You get an unlocked i7, a very decent upper-mid tier ASUS motherboard, an enthusiast tier dual-fan 3070, and a fully modular power supply with 750 watts and a gold efficiency rating. The power supply and CPU in particular are easy to overlook, but worth a lot in my opinion. I can count on one hand the number of off the shelf desktops that have come with a halfway decent power supply, let alone a modular one. And even if you don't plan to overclock the system, just the fact that it's rated for it means it's a step above the standard chips in terms of manufacturing quality. These two factors mean that you can likely expect a small but significant improvement to system stability and the useful life of the machine, and are very much worth spending a little extra to get. So, now that we've covered build quality, how does it actually perform? Overall, very well. It does struggle somewhat in synthetic loads - mostly I believe because of the cooling issues inherent to this case design. But you'd be hard pressed to notice this in real-world use. Cyberpunk 2077 with the settings cranked all the way up and Raytracing set to overdrive easily managed 60+ FPS at 1080p, even during longer gameplay sessions. Temperatures definitely were in the high range, but never got too concerning or forced the system to throttle back enough to significantly impair gaming performance. And, I'll admit, there are a lot of gamers I know (myself included) who might get excited at the prospect of spending a little extra time and money to make some improvements and unlock the full potential of this hardware. With a little care, this could easily serve as your primary gaming machine for at least the next five years or so. Overall despite the issues I have with cooling performance and the case design, this is a pretty easy desktop for me to recommend. If you want to just set it on your (elevated, hopefully very smooth) desk and run it as is for the next five years, you can. And if you want to rip out the parts and rebuild it into a finely tuned beast of a custom gaming rig, you can. ASUS has delivered a solid foundation for your gaming experience here, which in my opinion would be a great starter PC for someone looking to ease themselves into the world of enthusiast hardware and what it can offer you.

A huge upgrade from my current setup! I initially bought this for Starfield, but didnt realize that AMD gpu's were recommended for the game. I'm still pleased with the performance of it though, it gets around 120fps for most of my games set on high quality and the fans arent that loud! Also, i feel like this is a reasonable price since it comes with a 13th gen CPU and a 3070. Overall, i love it.

I received this PC in a damaged state where the 12v to the mobo had a damaged wire. I ended up spending 30min trying to take the PC apart to inspect each cable, but have had nothing but a terrible time trying to get this remedied by Asus for the past 2 weeks. They were initially going to send me a new unit, then, after a week, I reached out to see status, and they said they don't have any more, and wondered if they could just send a replacement PSU. Which I can replace, but find to be a ridiculous waste of my time, especially for a brand new pre-built system. Speaking of which, they've gone radio silent and I just decided to splice the wires to test this unit. So be sure to check your unit, since they also ship with the GPU installed and no packaging inside the case. I don't believe there was any real damage caused by my initial attempt to turn it on with the damaged wire, as once spliced, the PC turned on, and all components seemed to work well. The design is nice, well built, and has decent and unique RGB lighting integrated into it. The description isn't very good on the site, at least not at the time of writing. As it didn't state it came with a 240mm AiO cooler for the CPU. Nor did it properly list the PSU wattage, which is 750w. All in all, the 13th gen i7 13700kf processor, paired with the RTX 3070 makes for a decent combo for 1440p gaming on high detail levels. In Halo infinite I was pushing ~80 FPS on ultra, and over 120 in multiplayer. In CyberPunk 2077 on Ultra, I was able to hit ~60 FPS. Overall, not bad results for the pricepoint. Though, be aware, this is NOT a 4k card at any level of higher details. You are most definitely being bottlenecked by the GPU here, as the i7 in this system can demolish and is even well suited for 40 series cards. That being said, do not try and integrate a new GPU, as this case is on the smaller side, and won't accommodate a 4080 or 4090 length wise. The most you might be able to fit, should you choose to upgrade down the road, would be something 300mm or less. Also of note, being that this is a manufacturer prebuilt system, and one built with design in mind, not upgrades, it is NOT upgrade friendly. The mobo is no standard and doesn't list a QVL on their site for compatible RAM modules. It comes with 2x8GB DDR4 3200 CL20, which isn't great, but it does at least have 4 slots and 2 channels to potentially be able to support more, thought, given the design and likely minimal VRMs with little to no heatsinks, I would never suggest putting 4 sticks in. This case also comes with poor ventilation, as it just has the 2 AiO fans on the radiator, and one small rear exhaust fan. Nothing to pull air in. So while it runs fine at its base configuration, any additions will likely render its limited cooling capacity, null. There is also no where to place any front intake fans, nor is there on top, as the AiO radiator is recessed and built into the chassis, taking it apart and out is beyond ridiculous and time consuming. So one has to take this all into consideration when ordering a prebuilt PC, especially a manufacturer designed one. So while you are getting a decent price/performance ratio if you get it on sale, you're still getting a last gen GPU, as well as a fairly non upgradeable chassis and system overall. So you're stuck with what you buy, save maybe an upgrade to a 4070ti down the road. But this is mostly last gen tech, tied to a current and wonderful i7. Though, if you want a decent spec'd PC that runs great out of the box, (if you don't have issues like I did), then this is a decent choice.

I have been gaming over 20+ years. Also have my degree in Network Admin. I can say without a doubt for the price of this pre-built, its worth it. There are extra slots for another 2 sticks of ram. Also space to add additional storage. The 3070 inside can easily play any game that's out right now and will come out for at least the next 5-8 years on decent settings. I do believe the cpu and motherboard can handle a gpu upgrade aswel.

    ASUS makes quality gaming machines

Throughout the years, I've been mostly a console gamer. I've had a few "gaming PCs" here and there that were very modest. They never had the latest graphics cards or specs to make playing anything more than older games fun. I've relied on the Playstation or the Xbox for most new games because I always assumed building out or purchasing a good gaming PC was too expensive. Yet, as I've gotten older, I realize it's less expensive than you'd think. Many top-of-the-line machines won't cost more than a new OLED television. I've never had a machine that required a WIFI adapter (external antenna), so only set it up by looking at the instructions. I didn't look at them, and after setting it up and getting the PC ready to go, the WIFI was horrible. I did troubleshooting for a few hours before I remembered that I initially saw the WIFI antenna in the box but never took it out. After hooking the antenna up, the WIFI is as fluid as your speeds allow. Asus offers this ROG gaming desktop for about as much as a nice laptop. They are a trusted company in the computing space. They've prided themselves on quality, and it shows here with this tower. From the modern looks to the LED lighting and the vent system, you'll know immediately that this machine will do the job well. When comparing a gaming desktop to a console, FPS is a very underrated aspect only before you compare it yourself. Most consoles these days top out between 30-60. A few first-party games on each console can make it to 120, but it's very, very limited. With a program like Steam or the Xbox app installed on the CPU, you can enjoy almost every modern game well above 60 FPS. Sometimes even beyond 160 FPS, depending on your monitor. I've been very impressed by how it's been able to handle any game I throw at it. So far, I've played Cyberpunk 7077, Atomic Heart, Detroit: Become Human, Days Gone, Death Stranding, and Forza Horizon 5. All of these games have been set to Ultra and have worked well. The only game that stutters FPS is Detroit: Becoming Human, and according to research, that's just how the game is during specific moments of the game and is no fault of the CPU. For example, in Days Gone, I could do the best graphics setting with HDR on and achieve an average of 115 FPS. That's amazing. And after playing the game in its entirety on the PS5, I felt the difference playing on this PC. It's so fluid. It'll be tough for me to return to consoles after experiencing this. The graphics card isn't even the "best on the market" and can pull this type of performance. I'm super happy with it. Will it be future-proof for the next five years? Maybe not, but until the PS6 or next-gen consoles come out, this machine will do more than you'd need for your gaming needs. It's a beast of a machine that is an excellent choice for your gaming and your productivity.

I really enjoyed unboxing this gaming rig! I think it's a great value and a pretty good pair for most the new games out there. Very cool and slim see thru case with RGB lights this Asus Rouge has and comes packed will all the goodies inside like : -I7 13th generation without the integrated video card... plenty of power and it can be clocked to a maxim power of 5.4 ghz -nVidia Geforce RTX 3070 with 8gb of DDR6 i think it's a beast coupled with the above processor. -2x 8GB DDR4 with 2 more slots for future possible upgrades. -1TB of memory SolidState of course! The cooling it's done by air and i think it runs pretty quiet for the amount of fans it has. Even when the gaming becomes more intense. Bunch of ports like: -2 usbC -4 usb - few HDMI's - audio -Fast wifi AC and Ethernet port as well. The keyboard and mouse it comes with are wired and while they are good ... i feel that you can upgrade to something more worthy of this setup! I like the strap that comes with the case makes it easy to be relocated and looks good too with the Rouge logo on it and it also has a hanger that comes out from the side where you can set your headphones. I've been playing some GTA v on high setting as well as CounterStrike Source in the past week and the computer kept up with it NO Problem! I've Done some video editing as well and i really appreciate the fast 1TB capacity and the speed that PC has to offer. Bottom line i really like it! I look forward each time when i get home to throw some more intensive tasks at it and even thinking to add some more ram in the future!

So far very good. Preform well and once I get use to windows 11 I will have a better review. I look forward to more use of the computer and expect it will meet my needs and give me many years of great service. I have added a 2 TB external drive to expand storage but will not have the need for a long time in the future. The system also runs very quiet and meets all my present needs. My intent was to get a computer that would allow me to transfer to the internet the church services which we record during services each week.

Purchased this PC a few weeks ago and I'm pleased with the performance. It runs Starfield on High settings smoothly, though the fan is loud when the game enters large areas with lots to render. I honestly cannot beleive the deal I got on this Tower, I was looking to build my own with our local tech buddy and upon fixing our old Alienware coming to a conclusion we needed a new Dell motherboard which would cost $750++ component's I went ahead and just grabbed this as a placeholder little did I know it would become the staple of our PC's. When we priced out the individual component's this Prebuild had it skyrocketed past the value of what it actually cost so we went ahead and spiced up this one instead. Everything about this tower is merely perfect, the only fallbacks would be switching back to Windows 10 and upgrading the Very cheap built in 1TB drive, I highly recommended tossing that drive asap or adding a new drive and making primary. Other then that this tower is Flawless!! Asus has a great history and ROG add's the flair that makes it all fun!

This pc is amazing after it finally works. When i first bought it, it would not display on the monitor i bought for it. Turns out that some of the components were loose. But best buy quickly got that fixed. Also, the ram sticks were not fully inserted, so, according to the computer it only had 8 ram. But i pushed the ram card in and i had 16 ram. After all that, it has been an awesome pc.

I'm absolutely thrilled with this purchase. I've been building my own PCs for 20 years but with life going on, I've had less and less time to really devote to diving into what the market is like and try and hunt for GPUs and the like. This thing so far has been like a godsend. My only real 'complaint' is the 1TB SSD it comes with, but that's an easy fix to add more. Definitely worth the price I paid
