Customers find value in the ROG Gaming Desktop's high performance and powerful GPU, frequently praising its quiet operation and ease of setup. However, some users reported issues with the cooling system, RAM configuration, and fans, while others expressed concerns about the price and power supply. The overall experience appears to be positive for many, but potential buyers should be aware of these reported drawbacks.

My son who is 14 loves it. And so do I. It works great and has capabilities way beyond his old PC. Quiet and colorful. No issues so far.

I wish the motherboard was an ATX but overall the PC has been nothing but good to me performance-wise, and I have been very satisfied with the fan noise too. For the price, it was very worth it.

One problem - the pc fan (one venting the case) did not run out of the box. Since this was my first high end pc (usually buy under 800 for home/generic use) I wasn't sure if the fan only turned on during extreme conditions. From a bit of research I found both fans should run whenever the unit is on. I had to plug the fan into a different power source on the motherboard. It is possible the plug wasn't set well enough into the first source and should have checked that first but retrospect is 20/20. Other than that I am extremely happy with the system.

This computer would be perfect if it had a DVD drive. I called Geek Squad, who searched the internet but couldn't get a definitive yes or no on if it came with a DVD Drive. I then called ASUS who told me it had one. When it arrived there was no DVD drive, forcing me to buy an external to install the software.
Other than that, I have had no issues with the computer other than sound issues. The volume varies from program to program and the equalizer was nowhere to be found. Eventually, I found an ASUS equalizer so music sounds better, but it had no effect on the volume issues. I have never had this issue on any other computer I've owned.

The 2080 super is the only reason to buy this. Building a computer with these same specifications would cost a about 200$ less than buying a pre built system. If you like to build and tinker, look elsewhere. If you just want to buy a machine and start gaming... this is a decent work horse. If warzone is your thing... you can play warzone with tripple monitors, all the settings at max, and still get 70 to 90 FPS.

Reading some of the bad reviews I got nervous and almost backed out of my purchase, but I'm glad I didn't. I do plan to upgrade the single 16gb ram card to have 2 16gb cards. No overheating. Looks like they are putting in a better CPU cooler than people have previously complained about. I love it, it's working great for me.

Bought this item open box and it didn’t disappoint at all. The GPU was a steal for the price too because of the inflation of prices at the moment

*Disclaimer* This review is strictly for the product. This does not reflect my opinion on Best Buy. They have done everything they can to help and I appreciate it.
I bought this system a few days ago. Booted it up and already noticed that the windows was installed on the mechanical hd versus the SSD. Was kind of dumbfounded but easy issue to correct.
Did what every geek was and compared the system performance versus what was advertised. Mostly everything checked out other than the ram. To start the system comes with a single channel 16gb ddr4 @ 2666mhz. Not great, but whatever.
After checking the speed of the ram its was only clocking at 2133. No biggie lets get into the bios and set that baby where it should be. I set it to 2400 and BAM. System restarts and is stuck in a boot loop not posting. Had to reset the CMOS in order to even get back into the bios. Long story short the system wouldn't boot past 2133mhz.
Ok fine lets see if there is a bios update to correct this. This is where the issue began. After hours of searching online I could not find the motherboard or any manuals. The model number does not match anything in ASUS' support site. Finally I use the myasus app that finds an updated bios. Download it, flash it and the we are off.
Memory runs at 2400mhz now, but doesnt boot past that (advertised at 2666mhz).
I call support and long story short they tell me its not their problem. They do not supply documentation on the motherboard for this build nor a QVL for the ram. The exact words I got were "If you don't like it go buy something else from Best Buy then." This is an extreme summary of 3-4 calls and hours of being on the phone.
If they said hey this mobo only supports 2400mhz or you need to swap to a different ram to see those speeds I would of walked away and said fine.
For my fellow nerds. Yes I used XMP and it caused the same problem. No way to adjust memory timings or voltage as everything is locked in this primitive bios nor can I see the XMP settings.
Never buying Asus again.
Don't even think of upgrading. The parts are so condensed you have to remove the video card to get to the CMOS battery which requires EIGHT screws and a bracket to remove due to the limited space.

Dear Ellis,
I'm sorry to hear about your quality issues with this machine, and about your experience with ASUS Support. This is absolutely not the kind of experience that we want any of our customers to have. Can you please send me your serial number and the call case numbers from your interactions with Support? I need to investigate your case for quality control. If the machine is not booting at the advertised RAM speed out of the box, that is a problem. Please reach out to me at [email protected] and include case #N200830483 in your email for reference.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!

This is the best prebuilt I have ever owned. Once there was a time you went out and bought all the internals and built a machine due to the price being lower. Now, its cheaper to buy an Asus beast.
Only downfall - This comes with windows HOME. I spent a better part of my first night attempting to install windows pro - over and over and over from a copy I already purchased prior. In doing so I did an entire clean install of windows and removed all of the Asus programs. I was able to get the my Asus app and the armory crate back however the asus webpage has all of the drivers needed and the two apps mentioned above - outside of that there's almost no support on the webpage for the actual programs that came with the computer. No DVD drive means no discs shipped with the computer.
However I would just like to be able to download a package of all the offered programs for this computer.
Outside of that, this is a great machine. well built. Oh, one flaw in the build imo is that the processor is fan cooled, not a water cooler like last years version of this computer with a 2060 and 2070.
Oh, and there's this little plastic piece on the top left of the box, it flips outwards, no idea what the heck it does. I also ordered a dvd drive to put in the machine - dont think that's actually possible now im looking at it either - if you want to do something like that get an external.

I had to return two MSI Aegis RS due to overheating issues before I decided to give this Asus a go (I also had a ROG laptop a few years ago and had no issues with it).
It has limitations, but I haven't had any issues with it so far - so it's worth it for the money.
Side note: Asus will not release any documentation on the motherboard or components though. But I did get a confirmation that the mobo supports up to 32GB (16x2) 3200 DDR4.
