This laptop is really great and is able to handle all of the applications that I need to use while at school and on the road. I found one in the open box section without any use in perfect condition. If you have the luck to find one just as I did it is worth it. The price was around $850 which is a steal for the real value of around $1200.

this laptop is nice a lot slower at boot up then most, also the video card only has 3g of ddr which most games ask for at least 4gb, but it will play overwatch on ultra settings which was nice. i returned am now gettin g a lenovo legion that has ssd and 6gb of video card ram.

I am really impressed with this laptop easily being able to play Xbox Play Any where games like Xbox's Motorsport 7 which absolutely looks amazing on this laptop. However, I did remove the standard 4Gb DIMM to replace it with a 8Gb version to gain 16Gb overall (the other 8Gb of RAM is actually soldered onto the board on the underside of the motherboard). It's single DIMM slot and so if you wanted the max 24Gb then you will need to replace standard 4Gb for a 16GB version, I would highly recommend installing a 500Gb Sumsung NVME drive to compliment the 1Tb desktop speed (7,200rpm) hard dive, as to transfer your O/S system for massive improvement in read & write speeds. Why? Samsung's 960 EVO is about 6 times faster than most of the fastest the standard looking Solid State Drives at read & write speeds. The NVME slot for installing and ASUS even graciously includes a spare small screw within a small bag so that you can later on secure that NVME drive in place. Also, the fact I've discovered that the Xbox's Motorsport 7 (standard version) takes a WHOPPING 100Gb of hard drive space to install it while Forza 3 (standard version) takes about 50Gb. So, as you can see with these games, etc, you will quickly lose hard drive space so a BIGGER & FASTER is BEST in the long run.

Great laptop overall. Plays games at a very competitive FPS, and doesn’t get overly hot when under stress. My only complaint is that for the price, I would have liked to have seen 16 GB of memory instead of 12 GB. However, I purchased an open box model for lower than list price, so I can’t really complain.

I feel like I may have received a lemon out of the batch. Just about any game I would play the device would run at 93 degrees Celsius according to the ROG Gaming Center software. It would run so hot I couldn't even touch above the keyboard it was so hot. I took it into geek squad and they warrantied it out for me. 2 and a half weeks later all they did was a bios update and it runs 10 degrees lower. While it fixed it, I'm still skeptical as I can hear what I believe is the hard drive buzzing. The screen also has an intermittent dead pixel, so guess what? That wasn't able to get fixed because of course it worked fine when it was in their shop, not much surprise there. For 1400 dollars I expected a device that I didn't have to be so concerned about anytime I play a game.

I loved this laptop, super fast, very easy to use... and have everything I want it! I recomend for gaming or designing program... I use for boths... and always have.. sony vaio.. but now trying with this asus rog and I very happy with this purchase!

This is a great gaming laptop at a good price but I wanted a little more power so I exchanged for something a little beefier, still this laptop can play all the latest games on high setting and even VR!

First major purchase with my own money. As a film student I needed something could work with editing software but also wanted something that I could use for gaming. So far so good. No real glitches.

I love this computer. It’s my first gaming computer and it holds a lot of memory. I wanted something that would hold my games that I had and not freeze. I wanted something specifically for games and that was good for them. This is great.

I love this laptop - the only thing I don't care for is Windows 10, but since it's getting harder to avoid that, I figured I might as well jump in and get used to it. Anyway, the laptop itself is fast, works great - and I've added (and removed) software and used it for several different things already and still marvel at how smooth it works with everything. I work a lot with video, which is why I went with a gaming computer, and it has surpassed my expectations. I may even check out a game or two!

This laptop was perfect for my son in college, who wanted it for Computer Science projects as well as gaming. Although a bit thicker and hotter than the other laptops in vogue, the performance is worth it.

my computer is fast enough to get 100 FPS while playing World of Warcraft. My only complaint is it didn't come with a Blue Ray or DVD player, and the sales tech didn't ask or recommend getting on

I know that the more money you dump into a computer the more you get out of it. However, for a little over a grand, I was surprised how much I got. I thoroughly enjoy this laptop.

I bought this computer for my son for school. He also wanted something to game on. It works excellent for every recent game he has purchased on the highest graphics settings.

Its got it all great speed top of the line graphics and a surprisingly good battery life. As always teaming with the professionals at Best Buy is a plus with this product.

I shoped around a lot before settled on this one it's fast and quiet. I play quite a few games that are demanding graphicly and this pc is almost seamless out of the box. I do recommend upgrading to an ssd hard drive I added a m2 form factor ssd to the empty port and installed my operating system on that and boot from that in about 20 seconds.

Works great. Flawlessly runs games like Skyrim. Very happy with purchase. Like others have said, does take a while to start up.

Laptop has may amazing components making it a gaming monster and it can handle any task easy. But only thing is battery if your doing regular tasks the battery holds up just fine but when gaming don't even think about unplugging the laptop since it will drop the performance and the it will die in 2 hours max.

I can play all my games, use VR, multitask, music production, 3D design, and so on! I absolutely love this machine. Price was super competitive (when on sale or open-box). You should definitely add m.s SSD and move OS over. I haven't needed more than 12GB of RAM, but the option is there if I need it. Very good sound, fairly thin for having a non-mobile GTX1060 in it. Seriously, great machine for the price. Very cool looking as well.
