Visually, this is a very good-looking headset. The matte finish clashes nicely with the metal-matte accents. There’s subtle branding on the headband and since they’re gaming headphones, there’s RGB on the cups without being too much. Although they are very light and a bit loose, they seem well-built. They are very comfortable. They have an adjustable suspension band that sists lightly on the head. I hope this band does not become loose over time. The breathable pads allow plenty of ventilation and prevent overheating. The clamping force is minimal, but I did experience some pressure right underneath my ear after several hours (and that might just be me). They also sit nicely on the neck, if that matters. The controls are easy to figure out and are positioned well. I love the volume rocker wheel. My only nitpicks are that I keep missing the mic mute button and I wish it was on the other side, and the BT/2.4 can be a bit confusing since it is also the on/off slider. These cans connect to almost everything. I tried them on the PC, PS5, Switch 2, tablet, and even phone. I used the 2.4Ghz dongle with no issues and basically no lag. The dongle is USB-C but comes with an adapter. Tried the Bluetooth with my tablet and phone, again, there were no noticeable sync issues. The connection range was quite impressive. And just in case you like the best connection, you can use the headset in wired mode via the included USB-C cord. I noticed that the volume rocker worked erratically with the Switch 2 and the mic mute and function button raised the volume. Sadly, there is no X-Box compatibility. Out of the box this headset’s sound is airy and on the bright side. There is a good punch in the bass, but the sub-bass is a little lacking. Bass-heavy sounds like explosions and heavy engines don’t have that deep subwoofer feel. However, midrange sounds like shots, dialogue, and metallic audio come through with impact. The treble adds even more clarity to distant and subtle sounds such as shouts, traffic, and steps. The soundstage is wide, and the imaging allows one to pinpoint directional and distance queues. Overall, the headset presents a decent and realistic sound experience. Listening to music, on the other hand, was just too bright for my taste especially when listening to my phone since there is no companion app to change the EQ. The Crate software allows you to change the sound signature with a full EQ, although I could not bring the bass extension I was looking for. Also, the headset does not remember the EQ settings once disconnected. In the software, you can change the specialty button, RGB colors, and keep the firmware updated. The mic works exceptionally well. I used it in multiplayer games and all the mic checks were successful. I also made work-related calls and attended an online meeting, and I was heard clearly. I did not have to raise my voice and the mic hardly picked up keystrokes or other ambient noise. Despite not being perfect, I am quite pleased with the versatility and performance of this headset. Plus, it doesn’t break the bank. I certainly recommend it for those that have multiple devices, and want the one headset for all.

I’m a gamer and a father and time is something I do not have much of anymore. So, the whole portable gaming concept is of great interest to me. I wanted to have a compatible headset with the brand of devices I use. I decided on getting the ROG PELTA and I use it with my two ROG gaming devices the Ally & Zephyr G14. :::General Thoughts::: The Pelta is lightweight, easy to use, has great battery life and it easy to use. I use it primarily for my ROG Ally and the sound is great and you can customize the audio to your liking depending upon the device you are using. For the more demanding games I prefer to use my laptop and I have an ROG Zephyr 14. I played The Last of US part two, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth & Metal Gear Delta. Upon receiving the Pelta I was very pleased. The box is small, and you’ll find a braided USB type B with a type C adapter, detachable MIC, a 2.4GHZ usb dongle and the headset itself. I love how lightweight the headset is and it doesn’t feel like a clamp on your head. It has a fabric like band which makes it feel great. The buttons are located on the left earcup, there is a mute button, power button which is a switch Bluetooth or 2.4GHZ, volume wheel, and a mic attachment. Using the Pelta is easy you switch the headset to Bluetooth, hold the pairing button and you are done. There are audible cues when you power the headset on and when it is entering pairing mode. The RGB is reasonable and not gaudy like some other headsets. I installed the Pelta software for “Armory Crate”. I would recommend that you make sure all the software is up to date in armory crate. And then install the Pelta software, it will allow you to make changes to the audio and microphone settings through Armory Crate. :::Pros & Cons::: Pros: - Lightweight - Bluetooth & 2.4 GHZ - Detachable Mic - Fabric headband - Comfortable - Great battery life Cons: - None :::Closing Thoughts::: I like ASUS products and I like gaming they just go well together, If you are in agreement or looking for a comfortable headset then check out the ROG PELTA.

I own several ASUS products and have always been a fan of their gaming lineup. I got the ASUS ROG Pelta wireless gaming headset to use with my ROG Ally, After I unboxed it, my first impression was mixed. The design is minimalist, and the headset is extremely lightweight. I feel that ASUS made this headset to provide a balance between comfort, versatility, and sound performance. It features 50 mm drivers and tri-mode connectivity (2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and USB-C wired). The Bluetooth connection is straightforward and sounds good on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. It is very comfortable on head and sometimes I forget I’m wearing it. The headband is two bands, the top one is padded and right below that one, there is elastic band that can be adjusted to two different sizes, ensuring a better fit. Battery life-wise seems to be impressive. The headset has a wide compatibility that makes it ideal for PC, consoles like PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, handhelds, and even smartphones. I like the soft, breathable fabric earcups, which make long gaming sessions much less annoying. The mic is detachable and from my testing it crystal clear, and my voice quality was praised during gaming with friends. There is also a dedicated mic mute button for quick access when activated, an red led light up to indicate the mute status. The RGB lighting on the earcups is subtle but it is nice at night that can be customized using ASUS Armoury Crate software. However, there are a few drawbacks that I wish this headset has or offers it. Despite being lightweight, the headset doesn’t feel very premium and most of it is made from plastic, which makes it feel plasticky and less premium. It lacks a 3.5 mm audio jack, and the onboard function buttons take some time to get used to. However, This ROG Pelta is a good choice if you are looking for a headset that offers good sound quality, comfortable, lightweight, and flexibility of connection and good mic for its price point.

When it comes gaming for long hours you need comfort, sound, battery life and connectivity and the Asus ROG Pelta meet all those requirements. The Pelta are a comfortable and light one size fits all headphone, the ear cushions have large cutouts for those of us with big ears. The elastic band is excellent for comfort (best I have used), I wore the headphones for hours on end without issue. The ear cups have just enough force to stay on my ears without causing any pain, the pressure is just enough to where the headphones don’t fall off but its not something you could go running with. As the ear force isn’t super firm I did notice that there was sound bleed so someone sitting next to me would hear what was playing through the headphones. The sound quality for the highs and mids is wonderful, I could hear all details while gaming and listening to music. Now the lows are slightly below average, you wont feel the rumbling base. I appreciate that Asus went with physical buttons over touch-based ones. The toggle button to turn the headset on/off or switch between Bluetooth or the 2.4 gig streaming via the dongle is perfect and should be used by all headphone makers. The buttons to mute the mic and pair Bluetooth do the job but I do wish Asus raised them a bit so I could feel them better or have some type of ribbing on them as the volume wheel does. The connectivity of the Pelta was great, there was no latency issue no matter how they were connected to any of my devices. The headphones were great during gaming and the boom mic worked as intended, my friends could hear me perfectly. Overall the Pelta are a good gaming headset that has excellent comfort and amazing battery life (so far used them for 24 hours and im sitting at 50%).

    PERFECT Gaming Headphones

This is a first for me. I have never found a headphone that was perfect. I can always find something that, in my opinion could be improved. The ASUS - ROG Delta Wireless Gaming Headset for PC/Mac, PS5, and Mobile devices Headset is amazing. Asus thought of everything when it comes to comfort, sound, reaction time and portability. Taking the casual gamer to a whole new level. . I used the wireless set up as I have great internet. You can also set up other ways to counteract the delay if you do not have great internet. Everything I needed was in the box. Contents of box includes the following: 1. ROG Pelta wireless gaming headset 2. Microphone 3. Wireless 2.4 GHz USB-2 dongle 4. USB-C to USB-A dongle Adapter 5. Quick Start Guide The headset itself is so easy to charge and set up. Scan the QR code on the box to download the ASUS site to register and update the headset. Important Tip: I was so excited when I opened my box that I was not as thorough as I should have been. The dongle is sorta hidden in the cardboard. As it is very small, If you are looking for it, it is easy to miss. Also the USB- C to USB-A is attached to the end of the cord. I love the microphone! It is so easy to adapt the position in so many ways. The microphone itself is movable in a full circle on the headset. Then the microphone is nicely bendable and stays where I bend it. It is perfect. The sound is amazing. I can hear the footsteps of the other players in the game. They sound so real that I found myself looking around for them. The gunshots sound like real gunshots and echo as they should. The sound quality is as near to reality as I have ever heard on a gaming headset. The headset itself has a wide elastic band the easily adjusts to my head. I had no idea my head was so small. I had to adapt the elastic to fit me. Which was easy to do with the tabs that attach the band to the headset. I have enclosed photos to show you. It is so lightweight that after getting into the game I cannot tell the headset is on. There is no pressure on my head or ears. The soft thick foam on the ear pads are not restrictive at all. They are so thick that all I felt was soft. This headset works equally on my computer and Playstation. No difference in the sound or latency an all in my opinion. As I mentioned I used my headset wireless using the bluetooth b ut you can also use the USB-C for wired connection. Just remember that you more than likely will be getting into the game and not paying attention to the loudness of the headset. I found myself doing this. I had to reming myself that I needed to turn it down to protect my ears. The buttons on the headset itself are designed in "rocker" so it is intuitive to control the volume, media playback , microphone mute and even the power. I suggest you memorize where they are so you don't reach up to lower volume and them the headset off. In my defense I only did that once. . The battery life is exceptional and does charge rapidly. I am curious how that will work as I use it a lot. I just quickly charged it so I could get to gaming. I am charged it about 20 minutes and it worked flawlessly for about 2 1/2 hours but it may have worked longer if I had not quit playing.

The ASUS Rog Pelta Wireless Gaming Headset works well for long hours of wear. Whether you are spending long hours working online or gaming, this headset is comfortable. The audio is crystal clear. The headset is lightweight and the earcups are well padded. What’s in the box: • Adjustable headset • Detachable boom mic • 2.4Ghz dongle (USB-C) • USB-C to USB-A adapter • USB-C to USB-A charge cable • Instruction booklet The ROG Pelta Wireless Headset is almost everything I look for in a headset. It works with Bluetooth or via 2.4Ghz WiFi. It has a removable boom mic, which is a real plus for me since my glasses interfere with mics that are in the earcups. The audio is crystal clear, gaming sound effects are very realistic. I wound up testing the headset during a marathon video work call and it was surprisingly comfortable. Then there are the cool trademark ASUS ROG LED lights. These are customizable using the downloadable Armory Crate software. The lights can be easily turned off by pressing and holding the mute button on the left earcup, or with the software. One nice feature is that the headset will still work when plugged into the USB port. My old headsets would not, and that was a real pain when the batteries ran low during a call or gaming session. While I’m not crazy about being tethered by a wired headset, it’s good to know I can plug in and continue the meeting. The headset has some adjustment for different head sizes by repositioning the elastic band. It looks like it will easily fit large heads. But when it is adjusted for smaller heads, there is a very large gap between the elastic band and the headset headband. It looks a bit weird on video calls to have the top of my headset floating a couple of inches above the top of my head. My old headset had minimal range on 2.4Ghz WiFi. Basically, if I left my office space/ got more than about ten feet away, I lost connectivity. The ROG Pelta had the same problem. I could get a little farther away, but not enough to go into the next room to get a cup of coffee. (Your mileage may vary here.) The ROG Pelta does seem to have reliable Bluetooth connectivity, though. I managed to go outdoors and still hear the lecture I was listening to when the headset was connected via Bluetooth. All in all, I like the ROG Pelta headset. It is comfortable, performs well and even though it looks weird when adjusted for my head size the earcups stay in place. Compare the performance to headsets costing many times more than these and you will find the ROG Pelta headset is a good value and worth a try.

Solid budget gaming headset option from Asus ROG

A Pelta is a lightweight, often circular shield. I believe its Greek in origin but I remember it was a lower level light class shield from Diablo games. This ROG Pelta headset is similar, not to be confused with the more expensive big brother, the ROG Delta (II), at roughly half the price, the Pelta is definitely a trimmed down and lighter weight option. The first thing I noticed about the Pelta is that it is very lightweight, so long gaming sessions should be no problem at all. The headset is also plenty comfortable with the ear pieces being quite large circumaural that allow them to completely cup and envelop your ears instead of sitting on top and putting pressure on them. The ear pads are soft memory foam and covered by microfiber, so they are breathable and won't get oily or clammy like the faux leather can get. The ear pads are not removable however, so cleaning or replacing them won't be as easy as some headsets that give this option. The microphone boom is flexible and can be removed completely, but you can't slide it out of the way and mute it like some other headphones allow you to do. You have to just move it out of your face and then hit the top most button on the left ear to actually mute the mic, which then shows a red LED light around the mic boom to show you are muted. You can also remove the microphone completely, but please note, when reconnecting the triangle plug it is keyed a specific way to fully seat and connect. Connectivity is achieved in one of 3 ways by changing the rocker switch: 1. Top = Bluetooth: this is great for people who work from home and want to quickly switch between work laptop and home PC. 2. Center = Off or Wired USB-C to USB-A: If you ran out of power or didn't bring your wireless dongle and the device doesn't support BT, you can still connect via USB cable. There is no 3.5mm support however. 3. Bottom = 2.4GHz RF: This is achieved via a tiny USB-C dongle and Asus also includes a USB-C female to USB-A male if you have a device that doesn't have USB-C ports, which is a nice touch. The main negative especially compared to the Delta, is that you have to physically change the modes using the switch instead of using a soft power button. This also seems to keep the headsets on, and while they may go into a low power state and battery life is very good overall, I like the soft power buttons that can auto-power off and also smart sense and switch between connections with the press of a soft-button. In terms of sound, the Pelta will not blow you away but they are very solid. Positional sound is good but limited to Stereo. Unlike the Delta, which actually enabled Dolby Atmos licensing in Windows, the Pelta is limited to basic 2 channel 16-bit 48Hz audio over RF and Windows Sonic for spatial sound. If you enjoy Asus ROG products but don't want to spend $200+ on a pair of headphones, you'll enjoy the Pelta. Sound quality is good and they are buttoned up enough so that you can use them for work and feel comfortable with how they look and sound.

I appreciate a good set of headphones since that’s the only way I play my games, particularly first person shooters on PC. Detailed sound is a huge advantage in these games, and while I’ve owned many brands of headsets in the past, this is the first ASUS branded headset I’ve used. Unpacking the headset was nice, seems like high quality material with a detachable microphone. The headset fits comfortably, but I wouldn’t say its super soft as I’ve seen some headsets, but I’ve had no problems or discomfort while playing games for hours. The paperwork said that when you plug it in you’ll have red/green light indicators, but I have not seen such lights. The lights come on the side of the headphones, but the colors change and it never settled on green after spending hours on the charge, so not sure what light they are talking about. Plug and play works as expected, and I installed the armory app so that I can have the extra settings and update the firmware. My suggestion is to not look for the Armory app on ASUS, but to find the product page and look under downloads to get it. I will say updating was a bit of a pain, because after I updated it kept saying it needed to update again, and I would continue again and again not knowing if I was updating anything or if the original update had failed, there were no version numbers provided for me to tell. It also wanted me to reboot my computer after doing updates, which is a real pain for me to do since I have all my personal and work stuff opened and setup. I’m not sure why my computer needs to reboot for an update to work on a headset, so that was aggravating, but I finally got through all the updates with the last one pushed out on 10/13/2025. The sound of the headset is solid and clear, and I would say its on par if not better than other gaming headsets I’ve used. I also use the headset for work during meetings, and I’m not a fan of how the default mic ‘on’ option is automatically on with no lights or indication, but if I disable the mic it turns red. I feel like it should be the opposite and there were no way to change it in Armory. I was able to disable the voice that says “Microphone On” to a Prompt sound which is much better when constantly turning on and off during meetings. I also enabled the Virtual Surround Sound in Armory as I figure this may work best in my FPS games. You have a few options to customize your headsets functionality including the equalizer, microphone enhancements, lighting, etc… My biggest disappoint with the headset was the range. While I only use Wifi mode, and not Bluetooth, going right outside my office the connection would begin to degrade and start sounding robotic or cutting out the further I got. Talking to friends between games (while getting water or stepping out) or being on a work meeting walking around was difficult and since I’ve used other headsets with good range, I had higher expectations for it. I will say changing the Connection Priority did help slightly in the Armory settings. Overall, other than the range, everything else is good or can be good once you are finally setup. My computer did crash once while plugging in the Wifi adapter, which is rare, but it hasn’t happened since. Quality of the mic and headset are good, you get battery life percentage in the app, and it has a pretty good sleep mode that automatically wakes up when you pick up the headset. I think the Armory software can use some updates and additional features for this headset, which luckily is possible for the most part and I hope to see some extra options down the road.

Fairly light, comfortable for long hours of wear and battery life that seems to last for days. One thing I did not like is the default sound that is quickly remediated once you get the Armoury Crate application installed. By default, it sounds very high pitched, like the focus is on foot steps and gun shots, which does not work well for many other applications. Same for the outgoing sound, as my teammate said it sounded small, like a tin can at times. Once you get the app installed you get all kinds of customizations. Overall presets based on things like movies, gaming, FPS or RPG. Which includes a full EQ with some common presets as well. You can individually customize all of them to your liking. Same for the microphone with noise gate, noise reduction and “perfect voice” sliders. You can adjust the lighting, which is just the logo on the sides, or disable it from there or by holding one of the headset buttons. It also helps extend the battery by leaving it off as well as other settings that you can change in the app. My biggest gripe with this headset is the painfully small switch for power and switching between Bluetooth, off and 2.4Ghz. It barely sits above the surface and is really stiff. Nice thing about it, you aren’t going to accidentally flip it. Then the mute for the microphone. The audio notification is so faint that you aren’t going to hear it while playing. But, there is a red light on the mic, when it works. I’ve had to unplug and plug the microphone back in a couple times to get it to register properly, otherwise I would have no idea the headset was muted. Then, out of nowhere I’m getting pop up notifications that the volume has changed, despite not touching the volume. Overall, this is a pretty solid headset and I am a fan of ASUS ROG. But, you have to have the Armoury Crate app to make it sound good and just trying to change that tiny power switch frustrates me every time I go to use it. The occasional missing LED for the mute seems to be an odd power cycle thing that can possibly get fixed in firmware, but is also irritating when you don’t want to blast everyone with a sneeze in their ear. Why can’t high dollar headsets like this use BT and 2.4Ghz at the same time like some others?

These are the most comfortable pair of headphones I have worn. They are beathable on the ears, light and sits on the head very comfortablly because of the adjustable inner headband. With the Microphone being removable is a huge plus because if it breaks or goes bad, replacing it is easy, the downside I found is I forget where I left it, but I prefer being able to fix/replace it myself easily. So its an overall win to me. Connecting and setup on Windows 11 wasn't an issue. Plug it in, either via the USB-C cable directly and charge at the same time, or use the small USB-C wireless dongle. Didn't have issues with either. Additionally you can connect via Bluetooth, but I prefer wired or the custom dongle. It is a small dongle, so on a laptop that is handy, but on full sized desktop definitely want to plug it in to the front then the back for the best connection as I found range while perfectly fine, its not as far as some other headphones I've used. But honestly for gaming its not an issue, only if you want to keep talking while walking across the house to make a snack, and even then you should be able to be understood and hear with just limited distortion. Sounds is great though the large drivers had great sound and with a great battery life this is a fanstic pair of headphones and I am enjoyuing using them.

Asus has added another headset to their line of gaming headsets, the ASUS ROG Pelta gaming headset. The headset looks good, is lightweight, and supports multiple platforms. Platform support The Pelta is supported on many platforms. PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, and PS5/4. The Pelta comes with both a USB cable to connect wired to a system and it comes with an RF module to connect wirelessly. It also supports connecting to systems via Bluetooth. I initially connected the Pelta to my windows laptop via the included USB cable. Windows recognized it as the Pelta headset without me having to do anything else. I also tried out the RF module with windows which worked as well. I connected the headset to my Nintendo Switch through Bluetooth. That was straight forward and hassle free. Armoury Crate/Aura Create When I launched Armoury Crate, it recognized the headset if I was using the RF module. For some reason it doesn’t when I connect the headset through the USB cable. When it was connected through the RF module and Armoury Crate saw the headset for the first time, it stepped me trough getting the firmware updated. It was easy to do, but I had to connect the headset through the USB cable while also the RF module was connected. After the firmware was updated, I was able to see all of the settings a features I could enable/change within Armoury Crate. There are EQ settings, Mic setting, lighting settings, etc. This also works with Aura Create which allowed me to set the color and lighting pattern for the headset. It has LED lighting on the outside of each ear piece and I can create a pattern with a single or multiple colors and I can set that to work in concert with the color patterns of my other ASUS ROG accessories. I really like that ASUS has done this with their ROG accessories. Keyboards, mice, headsets, etc. so that a user can set the colors and patterns they want. I also like that I can choose various audio EQ profiles that come pre-set with Armoury Crate. It makes it easy to set the profile I want based on what game I’m playing. Audio/Mic Quality I felt that the audio quality was really good when playing Battlefield 6. I put over 20 hours into the game while using the Pelta headset. At no point was I feeling that the audio was lacking in that game. Everything sounded good and was clear. The mic worked well. It has a windscreen over it which helps. The mic arm is easy to move and adjust, but I did find that I would bump it when taking off the headset to take a break. It plugs into the headset, but doesn’t pivot up out of the way, so if I bump it when taking off or putting on the the headset, I have to readjust it. That got a little bit annoying after multiple breaks during many hours of a long gaming session. Once it is adjusted, it stays in place as long as I don’t bump it which isn’t an issue while playing, it’s just an issue for me when taking off the headset and putting it on. Comfort The headset is reasonably light which helped a lot when I had long gaming sessions. The headset has a head strap that is positioned just below the headband. The strap can be adjusted to either of two positions. I found the one that works for me and went with that. It’s simple to adjust and should work for anyone. I had more than 8 hours in one day with the headset while playing Battlefield 6, but didn’t feel any fatigue in my neck and my ears didn’t hurt. The buttons are easy to find as is the volume up/down dial. Placement of those is well done. I also was able to unplug the mic when I was using the headset with my Nintendo Switch. I like that I’m able to get it completely out of the way when I don’t need it. I just put it in the bag that comes with the headset so I can easily keep up with it. Final Thoughts I’m liking the Pelta headset. I’m happy that I have it. The amount of hours I’ve used them in a week without problems is a testament to their comfort. I like that they are supported by Armoury Crate and Aura Create. I hope ASUS keeps it up with that they are doing with support for accessories within those two applications. If you are looking for a reasonably priced headset for PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PS5/4 or a combination of those systems, then I would recommend considering the ASUS ROG Pelta headset.

The ROG Pelta is a multi-platform compatible wireless gaming headset with a detachable microphone. Follow the Quick Start Guide to get the most out of this headset. First connect by either Bluetooth or Wireless Receiver. You have to download the Armory Crate software and make sure your ROG Pelta headset is included as a device. If not, you have to download the ROG Pelta software separately to get the app with all the headset controls and options. It's important to note that there is a difference when connecting by Bluetooth or Wireless Receiver (dongle). On my ASUS TUF Dash 15 gaming laptop, when connected by Bluetooth there are 2 Output connection options in the Windows sound settings. One showing ROG Pelta (BT) Hands-free and the other without the Hands-free. The Hands-free option is for 2-way communication, ideal for voice calls, video conferences, or in-game voice chat, but will somewhat compromise game or music sound quality and also disable volume control on the headset due to Bluetooth bandwidth limitations. If you need to use 2-way communication, it's better to connect using the wireless receiver as it has more bandwidth and doesn't compromise sound quality. If you're just listening to music, the Bluetooth (not Hands-free) connection is fine. The headset has simple controls - a Mic mute button, volume control wheel, function button for pause/resume music and Bluetooth pairing, a slide switch for OFF, Bluetooth ON, or Wireless Receiver ON, and a port to plug the microphone in. Nothing complicated or confusing to use. The app has tabs for Audio, Microphone, Settings, Lighting, Power, Amory Crate Gear, and Firmware Update. You'll want to check the Firmware Update initially to make sure your headset is updated. The Audio tab has Sound Optimization presets, including Equalizer presets. I found that for me just using overall presets, like FPS, Gaming, or Music, gave me the best sound rather than using the Equalizer. And the sound of this headset is excellent! It has clear, distinct highs and very good bass. The Microphone tab has Noise Gate, Perfect Voice, and Echo Cancellation/Noise Reduction ON/OFF options. The Settings tab has Playback and Recording volume levels, Channel Volume, Sidetone, and Voice Prompt language (English/Chinese) or tone option. The Lighting tab has options for the RGB lit logos on either side of the headset. I left it on the default Color Cycle. There is an Aura Creator option to customize the lighting. The Power tab has the power options and shows the headset battery level. Battery life seems to be exceptional. I've used this headset for I would estimate at about 6 hours, alternately between Bluetooth and Wireless Receiver connection, and the battery level has only decreased from 83% to 78%. The headset is very comfortable. It's lightweight with well cushioned ear cups and an adjustable elastic headband. Included with the headset is the detachable microphone, wireless receiver, USB A to C charging cable, USB A to C dongle adapter, and Quick Start Guide & Warranty Guide. In sum, this ROG Pelta is a versatile, customizable wireless headset with excellent sound quality and easy to use controls at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it!

I'd have to say I'm a pretty big fan of these. I haven't had any complaints about the microphone quality, I've only had to charge it once a week or so even with the RGB, and it's not particularly uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. The sound quality is good, and there are a reasonable number of options available in Armoury Crate for things like equalizer or noise reduction. If you don't use Asus hardware with Armoury Crate, there's also the standalone Armoury Crate Gear module you can download to configure just the headset - this is something I greatly appreciate, because it can be really easy to wind up with a dozen pieces of heavy software on your computer for controlling individual parts of it these days. I think my absolute favorite thing about this headset, though, is a trivial little quality of life feature. The power switch is a three-stage slider. One edge puts it in 2.4GHz mode, one edge puts it in Bluetooth mode, and you turn it off/put it into wired USB-C mdoe by moving the switch to the middle. I am a big fan of not having to mess around with holding down multi-function buttons or having an extra button just for that function that's easy to press accidentally when trying to hit something else. I think that setting it up like this was a really great design decision. (I also really like having the wired audio via USB-C. It's just super nice to have, and really rare.) I think the only real downside to this headset so far is that it's not super adjustable - it relies on the elasticity of the band, and you only get two slots on either side to adjust the height of the band to. I think it would have been good for the band to have a little more range of motion given to it for maximum comfort. Overall, this has been a great headset, and I think Asus did a really good job with it. I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you're already using Asus gaming hardware.

The only negative I have to say about these headphones is the mic is not a rotating boom that mutes when up. The mute is handled by a button on the back of the left ear cup. The bad part of that, you don't realize if you are on mute or on a live mic because the boom is always down. The mic is detachable, so if you have a free standing mic, you can remove the boom. These headphones are very comfortable and light. The buttons and controls are easy to navigate. The lighting is handled by the Asus software and syncs with other ROG device settings. The software you want is Aura Sync, but Armoury Crate is also useful. Chances are you will need a firmware update out of the box, so connect via cable to your PC. I use both Bluetooth and dongle connections. It allows me to switch between desktop and laptop easily. Sound is surprisingly good across the board. Perfect for video watching, meetings, in game chat, or whatever need arises. The mic is extremely clear and can be detached from the headset. The connector is designed to only plug in in a very specific way. The mic metal portion of the connector looks very standard but the plastic is an odd triangular shape that forces one way to plug in. The sound quality from the mic is excellent. Overall they are really light, comfortable with great sound. I can not complain.

The ROG Pelta is a breath of fresh air for the RoG line... To say I'm a RoG gear collector would be an understatement - Having THREE different core gaming devices all from ASUS/Republic of Gamers, I'm always looking for new devices to fill up my "RoG Bag" going all-in with their gaming laptops (Zephyrus G14), Tablets (Z Flow 13) and portable systems (Rog Ally). I'm also a collector/frequent user of their accessories. From my Chakra gaming mouse to the Cetra True Wireless Speednova earbuds, to the Rakiri Pro controller, You could say I appreciate the ecosystem. Even with all of that experience, I had not yet experienced their over-ear headset designs. Previous attempts felt too clamped onto my head and had uncomfortable ear cushions and caused head sweats while playing. I searched all over for competitors that would assuage this problem, but never found a good wireless alternative that would meet the need. The Pelta hits on all the points that matter to me: - Sturdy design: Great construction, with a firm headband that doesnt clamp too hard, solid construction of the ear cups and band (and the connection between them, as well as good tactile response of the controls. Even the headband is stationary and sizes based on an inner elastic band, making adjustments more fine-grained, eliminates points of failure in the headband adjustment. It also folds flat for storage when going in my bag. - Comfort: Finally - A headset that brings comfortable, breathable ear cups to the game. This, coupled with the elastic inner headband that controls the sitting height of the headband and your ear cups over your head, make for a softer, airy comfort. Though the headset is sturdy and has slight heft, this makes it feel weightless when worn, while still offering the immersion you want in the game. - Sound quality: for a headset without ANC, it certainly presents as immersive when playing - Part of this I attribute to the ear cups being huge (Even over my big ears) and that coverage providing enough isolation for the large drivers to provide what is needed to keep things feeling real. Bass response and crispness of audio was excellent, and I didnt miss ANC compared to my Cetera buds since the sound was so full anyway. When using the virtual surround on shooting games, I really thought I had a Dolby-like experience, but most of that could be attributed to the deep base and lifelike range of the drivers when simulating actual surround sound. - Software: The only knock for these amazing headphones at the price point, is one I'm stuck with anyway as an all-in RoG fanboy - Armoury Crate is the software to control EQ, surround, lighting sync and other settings. Its bloated, full of ASUS ads and promotional junk, and overkill for what it actually does, - Connection: Wireless connectivity is great with the included Speednova adapter. I seldom use the headset wired, but I have used it for gaming in both Speednova/USB adapter mode and with bluetooth and had good experiences with both. On the Ally the bluetooth mode didnt seem very laggy and audio quality was still good. All in all, at this price point, you're not giving up much going for a feature set like this, and your ears and head will thank you for the comfort. If you're in the ROG ecosystem (and thus stuck with Armoury Crate already), this one is a winner!

Not the best for Mobile Gaming Users

I'm a fan of Asus and the ROG line, I feel like I need to start with that. I have the Asus ROG Ally, and an Asus gaming laptop for when I want to do some PC gaming. These are in addition to my consoles, PS5 and Switch 2. There's a lot of things I like about the Pelta headset, but there's also some things that make me scratch my head. From a design perspective, the over-the-ear design fit snugly and comfortably around my ears. The additional stretchy band between my head and the actual hard upper band made wearing the Pelta for extended periods quite comfortable without the pain that most over-the-ear headsets cause from prolonged gaming sessions. The Pelta can connect to a variety of devices through 3 options: 1. Standard USB wired connection 2. Asus's Low Latency USB-C 2.4 adapter 3. Standard Bluetooth This is where I ran into my first gripe with the Pelta, and it's one that's kind of a known issue. Bluetooth is in no way the best option for gaming due to the latency. Playing games like Doom: The Dark Ages, Dark Souls 3, Stellar Blade, or Batman: Arkham Knight all had noticeable and jarring lags when using Bluetooth connection. Because my primary PC gaming choice is the ROG Ally, this was disappointing. This is where the low latency 2.4 dongle comes into play. Once I connected the dongle to my ROG Ally, and flipped the switch on the headset from BT to 2.4, there was an immediate and noticeable change in audio quality. Gone were the lags that ruined the immersion experience. Each shotgun blast resonated beautifully and timely. The downside to this was, I have this dongle now sticking out of the top of my ROG Ally, so if I wanted to plug in to a mobile battery pack for extended, on-the-go gaming, I was now stuck with a choice, do I charge the Ally and have a less-than-great audio experience, or do I play down to the buzzer, take a break, and let the Ally recharge. On the newer versions of the Ally that support multiple USB-C connections, this would be a nonissue. The other instance that was odd was doing the software update through Armoury Crate. In order to update the firmware on the Pelta, you have to connect both the headset and the dongle, meaning you cannot update it using the ROG Ally. This is where my other Asus gaming laptop stepped in to save the day. I was able to connect and update the firmware on that. I simply call this out because if your only PC gaming option is the ROG Ally, then you cannot update the Pelta firmware without an additional USB hub that allows multiple USB devices to connect over the Ally's single port. This is less of an issue on the Pelta's end, and more the Ally's, but since the Ally is my primary PC gaming device, it struck me as a less than perfect experience. The Pelta headset itself is a solid option for someone who wants to plug in for extended games, but I don't know if I'd recommend them to someone who wants to game-on-the-go.

What I like the most about this ASUS ROG Pelta gaming headset is its versatility; that’s why I chose it. The headset can be used via Bluetooth or wired and is compatible with your mobile phone, tablet, handheld gaming console, PS4&5, Mac, or PC. Pairing to most of my devices was straightforward and relatively painless. I did have a slight hiccup with connecting the headset to my PS4, but eventually got that figured out. Overall sound quality was wonderful! Audio was clear, full and rich; with deeply realistic ambient sounds. While wearing the headset during gaming sessions I felt totally immersed. Voice chat was great, as well. The touch control buttons on the left ear cup are easily accessible, once you learn them. The microphone is detachable, which is much nicer to me than the ‘fold up’ style. Another nice feature is the braided cord. It’s a good length and has a USB adapter included. I wasn’t quite sure about the headband design, at first. But after putting the headset on, I was immediately and pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it felt. The detachable adjustable strap seemed “cheap” or rather, too basic, compared to other headsets I’ve owned. However, its simple design, works. The strap is what rests upon the top of your head, instead of the headband itself. This, to me, is what makes the headset feel so lightweight, allowing for longer wearability. I am somewhat disappointed in the fabric used for the earcups. Unlike headsets I’ve used before that have a “higher quality” leather-like material, the earcups on these Pelta are a more ‘rough’ polyester type fabric which I’m concerned will cause my ears to feel overly hot if worn for longer periods of time. However, the earcups do swivel and lay flat, either on a desktop or draped around your neck. Since I already own many ASUS devices (gaming PCs, ROG Ally handheld, earbuds) I’m acquainted with the Armory Crate software. The software is well organized and has many useful customizable features. Like other ASUS devices, being able to personalize the RGB lighting is highly desirable to me. With Armory Crate you can use the Aura setting to sync your chosen light effects between all your compatible ASUS/ROG devices. Pretty cool!

I’ve had endless gaming headsets over the years so it’s hard to compare everything, especially as cost and brand can heavily differentiate the bad headsets to the best. That said, in comparison to my old Razer wired headset, this was a noticeable upgrade. The sounds on the new ASUS ROG Pelta are very crisp and the trebles and mid sounds come in very clearly, especially with the help of the companion app. While I do wish the bass could have some deeper range, it was still very passable. Not to mention that this is a comfortable headset to wear, especially for marathon gaming. While the ear pieces are large and I had initial concerns about breathability, it’s really been not noticeable and a big homerun for me. I did had some difficulties while using the wireless Bluetooth mode intermittently on my computer, and I’m still troubleshooting why that is (maybe an update would help). Once I hooked it up wired to my computer tower it worked much better. For comparison, the Bluetooth on my PS5 worked fine alongside the wired feature, so any Bluetooth issue may be PC related? The sounds are spatially accurate and helps quite a bit when I’m gaming, and it’s especially helpful for when I am playing tactial FPS shooters that “require” good sounds cues to perform well. Lastly, when it comes to mic quality, my friends say I’ve been clearer than ever, which seems to be where this shines the most. All said, I can certainly recommend this headset and while I’ve personally had some issues with Bluetooth connections, it’s been a no-brainer especially when it comes to ease of use, incoming/outgoing sound, and it’s comfort.
