The speed and versatility made this a great pick for the price. The accompanying app allows for four different VPN solutions and managing the network is a breeze. The WiFi speeds are close to a gig, impressive.

This router is pretty amazing. I came from a ax86u which was no slouch but i can say this one is noticeably superior. Strong stable signal and lots of ways to customize. Asus also has the best parental control in the business. Great built in security too. Just get it, you wont regret it.

Has no problem reaching every corner of our house and 8000sq/ft lot. Even in the shed we get WiFi. Our Netgear X6S was never as powerful and that one is in router heaven now.

Do not buy if you're using FIOS

It's a solid router, provides good coverage and best signal among all the routers I've used. but with the ugly design, can't put it on display at home. And also do not buy if you're using FIOS, it will cap the upload speed at 30% of your ISP capacity due to compatibility issues. There are many reviews online sharing this issues. When ASUS will fix that, no one knows. However their helpdesk claims there is no such thing, and best buy won't accept the return because the hardware isn't defective, incompatible with the ISP is not a eligible reason to return the product.

It's doing what it's supposed to be doing. Can do easy setup or complex with tons of features you will most likely not touch.RGB seems unnecessary. Range is good. Speed is good. I have owned it for 1 month now.

This was an amazing upgrade. Our old Asus router was pretty good and it’s now part of a mesh system for the second floor. This has been great for multiple devices streaming at once throughout the house. Very easy to set up.

The router Frontier 2gig should have given you.

If you've upgraded to Frontier 2gig service, you may have noticed that the router they provide has a 2.5gig WAN port, but only 1gig LAN ports. How dumb is that? This router is THE router you need for Frontier 2gig. This router has a WAN and LAN 2.5gig port and four 1gig lan ports. If your PC has a 2.5 gig lan port or higher, then you'll really be using and enjoying the hefty price you pay Frontier. Admin page has all the bells and whistles a pro or gamer could ever want.

I'm only using this for a bare minimum-priority gaming port-internet gateway-switch functionality. I use another router to deal with the QOS and WIFI load. Works well no problems so far i clearly see the improvement, better ping and smoother gaming. I use NetLimiter to focus OS traffic on the games, never tried the provided software but i recon this device comes with a software tool. Unsure about the WIFI functionality either.
I find the uneven removable antenna design bad, it wants me to ruin the thread on the connectors which i almost did.
